Family Day brings out the best from all the OBBHA members on this Monday night

Rob Yaworksi brought the crowd to its feet after he scored his first OBBHA goal on a rocket that not only bulged the twine, but left a scorching burn mark. The Godsons went crazy, but forgot to fish the ball out of the net for the keep-sake…forever the question will be “where is the ball”? Rumour has it already sold to the hussy who frequents Ralph’s Sports Bar and stares at Rob from the far bar stool.

....Some quick highlights....Tsunamis pull off big 7-6 win over Moscow, but had to hold off a furious comeback attempt. The Gong Show had the lead but the Buzz Kills performed the comeback of the night for 11-8 win. Wild Dawgs look to be in drivers seat to make top four this time in the B-Div! Ottawa Dangleitis nip Les Woder 6-5 in the game of the night. Godfathers more disciplined in 9-7 win over the Blues. Ottawa 69's had their hands full with Les Incompetants holding  1-0 and 2-1 leads at the period breaks before taking command in third for 6-1 win. Road Apples keep working the path to the top four with 10-4 win over Professional Slackers. Wise Guys win again!

Super Bowl hang-over does not seem to affect ball hockey players on Mondays...

Ottawa Dangleitis vs Macouns....offence vs defence in a classic battle of strategies. This time the offence took care of business. Note that Macouns netminder Tommy is playing through an annoying groin injury. Still there was some dangle.

Executive Golf vs Buzz Kills....veterans vs rookies. Vets put on a show 15-2

Devils vs Road Apples....another learning experience for the weathered Devils...the Devils employed a defensive strategy that made the Road Apples earn their 13-3 win.

The Gong Show vs Wise Guys....who are these guys! Gong Show were the Net Masters and the Wise Guys were basement dwellers until now! The Guys are for real in a 13-6 win.

Professional Slackers vs Ottawa 69`s....the Slackers wanted to play some of the best so this was another taste of it. The Slackers were given compliments after this one was over. 10-1 for the favourites but had to work very hard for every goal.

Green Hornets vs Tsunamis...a classic rivalry that always has an * beside it on the schedule. Gotta love it when the two teams play one another. OBBHA strategies are implemented and then changed throughout the matches. Mike Bourada look-a-like (in size anyways) Dave Andre was the difference in 3-2 Tsunamis win. Green Hornets through everything they could at him!

Les Woder vs Blues....Les Woder upset the Road Apples last week and came into this one full of expectation and confidence. They stayed with the Blues for one period before the mesmerizing passing of the Blues took hold for an 9-2 win.

Godsons vs Moscow Selects...the ever improving Godsons vs the suddenly once again potent Selects. 15-3 for the “new born” Selects.

Les Incompetants vs Godfathers....Les Incompetants have really improved their game and are one of the top teams from the bottom group of 6-teams in the A-div. This was another test to see how they measure up against the best. 8-2 Godfathers in a well-played game.

Mad Scramble vs Wild Dawgs....the Wild Dawgs were looking for some consistency from their all round game while Mad Scramble are trying to adjust to the B-div style of play. This one was tied 9-9 late until the Wild Dawgs got a much needed win 11-9. The finally won a close one!

Tsunamis score with 4-seconds to defeate the Wild Dawgs by a 7-6 margin....

The Wild Dawgs in the last session lost numerous heart-breakers....count this 7-6 loss to Tsunamis as another one. Notwithstanding the winner with 4-seconds left, the WIld Dawgs worked extremely hard and played well. Tsunamis countered with strong positional play and outstanding netminding from Mike Bourada.

For Pat, James and Mike....the Godfathers came in with a new line-up to try and beat the Ottawa 69`s whom they could not beat last session (but still won the championship). It did not look good early on as the Ottawa 69`s were playing their game and took the lead 3-1 late in the first period. Then inexplicably the 69`s stopped playing their game of triangle passing and backchecking....they started to place players at the top of the crease in the offensive zone. The Godfathers jumped all over this flaw and stormed back to take 4-3 leader after one. They shut the door down in the second period and were leading 6-3 going into the 3rd. The 69`s closed it to 6-4 before this strategic game ended 9-4 Godfathers. If they keep that line-up intact they will be an unstoppable force...but they have some Mexicans on contract that need to be paid or bought out.

Ottawa Dangleitis vs Professional Slackers....Ottawa took a 3-0 first period lead and then increased it to 5-0 after two periods. A shut-out in the works maybe...no the Slackers fought back to make a game of it for a 6-4 final.

Executive Golf vs Mad Scramble...Mad Scramble took a 5-2 lead and looked pretty. But Executive Golf shut the door down from their behind the goaltending of Kevin Chartier and exploded for 7 unanswered goals to win 9-5.

Les Incompetants vs Devils...The Devils are getting a taste of the Monday night level. Les Incompetants continue to use a strong work ethic to compete in 16-4 win.

Green Hornets vs The Gong Show...A good effort by the Gong Show in 9-4 loss to the stingy Green Hornets

Macouns vs Blues...fun match. The Macouns adapted to the Blues passing to keep this one interesting. 12-6 Blues.

Buzz Kills vs Moscow Selects...Moscow schooled Buzz Kills on the passing game 17-4.

Les Woder vs Road Apples...upset of the night!!!! 13-8 Les Woder!! Road Apples are having some trouble moving the ball from the back end. Les Woder are playing well. Let's see how they do againt the Blues next week....

Godsons vs Wise Guys...Wise Guys are making some noise. 10-3 win. Let's keep an eye on them in the coming weeks

Wise Guys, Wild Dawgs, Godfathers and Moscow Selects get key wins........

A few quick notes from tonights games.....Blues score 20! Wild Dawgs look to be back on track with key win over Executive Golf 8-4. Macouns get first win of new session. Godfathers feast on Road Apples small bench. Green Hornets outscore Mad Scramble 12-9. Moscow Selects are first in B-Div with impressive 15-4 win over Gong Show. Wise Guys edge Tsunamis 6-5 in game of the night! Godsons suddenly are snipers after netting 18 goals last week then score 15 and only give up 4 this week! Les Incompetatants jump out to huge lead this week (after last weeks poor start and rally for wild tie) that the Professional Slackers could not respond to. Ottawa 69's keep on chugging with 13-3 over Ottawa Dangleitis.

Another Cold Night and Another Hot Night Of OBBHA Monday Night Action...

Devils the new kids on the block (or old guys back at it) vs Les Woder....this one looked interesting on paper. It turned out to be quite at game. No goals in the opening period. A very well played game positionally. Les Woder had a 3-2 lead late until the Devils tied it up with just over 2-minute left. 3-3 final

Net Masters vs Godsons....predictions were this one would be a close one with both teams showing some improved team play down the stretch last session. From the a tight first game above to a classic CFL OBBHA game where last touchdown wins! The Net Masters took 9-2 lead at one point but the Godsons got their offence into it to make it interesting. 18-14 for Net Masters as both teams combined for 32 goals....39 is the record!

Road Apples vs Ottawa 69`s in what was hotly billed as the game to see tonight! A tight well played game. The 69`s seemed to have the ball on their sticks a lttle more and capitalized on their opportunities. The Road Apples gave it a great effort as always. Love to watch these top teams play! 7-4 Ottawa 69`s.

Mad Scramble vs the suddenly younger feeling Moscow Selects...Some offence on display from both teams. To be fair the Moscow Selects carried the play and looked very creative with some crafty passing. 12-9 for the old communist party.

Macouns defence vs Godfathers offence....Macouns wanted to keep this a low scoring affair. They deployed passive missives into the offensive zone and concentrated on a small box defence. This worked early on and their bench strength garnered some confidence from this. They also needed a solid if not brilliant performance from Tommy their goalie. After all they were playing the Godfathers.... who flashed enough skill for a 9-1 win. But they had to run fo it.

Wise Guys vs WIld Dawgs in battle for the ``W``....and it ended up being WILD! How about a 5-3 lead for the Wild Dawgs who have championship rings dripping from every finger on one hand (if not on their thumb then on their heads....the OBBHA toques!). Then a wild momentum swing for the Wise Guys who take a 9-6 lead only to see another momentum swing sway for the Wild Dawgs who tied it up 9-9. Not enough for you?! 10-9 Wise Guys only to see the equalizer for the Wild Dawgs with 31-seconds left. Not over yet......a goal post with three seconds left from the Wise Guys left everyone breathless and shaking hands firmly at the end. Well done boys!

Ottawa Dangleitis vs Les Incompetants in a battle of sweat...following that breathless game above we witnessed another OBBHA classic. Les Incompetants had a horrendous start in this one and were down 8-1 in the first period as Ottawa Dangleitis looked very impressive and on their own game. Then Les Incompentans started to get their traditional hard working game together.....remember last session when they were down 11-7 to the Road Apples after two periods? They came back with a great 3rd period to tie the affair at 11-11. Well this time down 8-1 only OBBHA President Struts had a premonition about this....he brought it up and suggested it could be done again. Cue the dramatics.....Les Incompetants roared back to cut the deficit to 11-9....11-10 with under a minute left....and finally with 7-seconds left they tied it up 11-11!!!!!!!! Wow!!!!!

Executive Golf vs Green Hornets in an old rivalry game...Goalie battle Karine vs Kevin....no quarter given let alone space! How about a 5-2 win for Executive Golf who needed a win badly after on opening night loss. Green Hornets were full value for a full effort. Great game boys and Karine!

Professional Slackers vs Blues...Fun! Fun! Fun! was on the menu in advance of this match. Hard running Slackers vs the old but savy passing Blues...The Professional Slackers came into the Monday Night league with quite a few feathers in their OBBHA toques. Saturday champs (in OT), Sunday B-Div top four finish, Monday B-Div champs. Last week they met the class of the OBBHA in the Godfathers (a lesson). And tonight one of the best passing teams in the history of ball hockey the Blues. The Slackers left the game having witnessed the game the way it was meant to be played. No reason to be upset. Enjoy and adapt. 11-4 final.

Buzz Kills vs Tsunamis....new team vs one of the top defensive teams in the OBBHA. The Tsunamis felt they were lucky to escape this one with a 9-5 win. Buzz Kills played a great game and they can only improve! Looking forward to the next game!!

The Winter Session Opening Night was full of goals and the Ralph's coupons...

Every team will receive a Ralph's Sports Bar coupon worth $10 every game...ask your captain to forward on the email they received about this!

The Blues are collection of over 40 and 50 year olds...they got into a deficit early to Ottawa Dangleitis, but used some efficient passing to erase a 3-1 disadvantage into an 8-4 win.

Buzz Kills played their first match and played well in a 10-7 loss to the Wise Guys.

Les Woder of the Spring league met up with Les Incompetants for a very fine match....Les Incompetants prevailed 8-5.

Godsons kept this one close until the 3rd period. 12-6 Green Hornets win.

Winners of the A vs winners of the B in the fall....a close first period as the Godfathers were up 1-0 over the Professional Slackers. But the skill of the Godfathers produced for an 11-2 pasting.

Tsunamis 6-3 over Mad Scramble is a goalie dual.

The Devils came out of a 3-4 year retirement (plus all the Xmas indulging) to meet up with the zero fat content of the Ottawa 69's.....20-3 for the 69's as the Devils have their diets and exercise plan for 2012 mapped out in front of them....and that is to play ball hockey!

Moscow Selects were down after two periods and made a stunning recovery for a comeback win over Executive Golf 10-5.

Road Apples looked impressive in 8-2 win over Macouns.

Wild Dawgs 19-1 over Net Masters....the Net Masters never adapted to the Wild Dawgs style. The diamond was formed and the offence moved around to produce scoring chance after scoring chance. The Net Masters must learn to play defence quickly or be the last place team in the talented Monday night B-Div. They must learn to trade-off defensive coverage as other teams employ movement in their offences. C'mon boys....learn it and then the offence will come.

Monday Night Final Seeding games are all set for Monday, December 19th....

Blades of Steel played their classic close checking game and grounded the dangle out of Ottawa Dangleitis 5-4 in a tight game. Great flow for a defensive game.

Wise Guys doubled up on the Godsons 8-4. Both teams know each other well so their were no surprises here....just plain old hustle and fun.

The Dogg Pound played well in an impressive 6-2 win over Macouns.

Wild Dawgs want 5th place badly and kept up a furious pace to take out the Net Masters 19-4.

Les Incompetants edged out a spare laden Mad Scramble squad 8-7.

Moscow Selects worked their tails off to edge out the Spartans 7-6.

Road Apples secured a spot in the A-Div finals with a 13-4 win over the Thundercats.

Green Hornets matched the Tsunamis tight positional play for a 7-4 victory.

Games of the Day!

Ottawa 69's need to beat the Party On! Godfathers by 5-goals to get to the finals and meet the Road Apples. They shocked the French Palace crowd and those following text and blog updates by taking a 7-1 lead deep into the 3rd period. The Godfathers needed a miracle in the closing minutes to close the gap to a 4-goal spread that would be enough to get themselves into the championship game. Pat Lemay scored on a penalty shot to make it 7-2. The 69's missed on a penalty shot of their own shortly after. Finally with 50-seconds left the Godfathers got the goal they needed from Chris Joly to make it a 7-3 final. So the Godfathers make it to the final despite not beating the Ottawa 69's this session. Should be a great final as the Road Apples and Godfathers have split their two head to head games so far......See you at 8pm on Monday, December 19th. Come on out and see some great ball hockey!

How about two teams warming up for the B-Div championship game a week in advance!? Executive Class vs Professional Slackers for the final next week....so they met on this night to feel each other out. Should be a great final if this game was any indication. 10-9 final for Executive Class that will give the Slackers something to think about for the week. Both teams gave it a full effort from start to finish to ensure they got the work out they came for!

Other Seeding games will be in B-Div will be:

3rd Seed Tsunamis vs Green Hornets

5th Seed Moscow Selects vs Wild Dawgs

7th Seed Wise Guys vs Spartans

9th Seed Net Masters vs Godsons

In the A-Div

3rd Seed Thundercats vs Ottawa 69's

5th Seed The Dogg Pound vs Les Incompentants

7th Seed Macouns vs Blades of Steel

9th Seed Ottawa Dangleitis vs Mad Scramble

Pivotal games start to show the possible final seeding games full of intrigue...

Les Incompetants with a very short bench gutted it our for an 8-4 win over The Dogg Pound

Wild Dawgs 9-4 over the Moscow Selects that showcased some fine passing plays and impressive goaltending.

Macouns vs Blades of Steel...4-4 tie. Both teams worked extremely hard and this was a fitting end. Sleep well boys!

Green Hornets vs Professional Slackers...The Slackers are on a mission to move up to the A-div as Mad Scramble have confirmed their move from A to B. The Green Hornets are a very hard working team and were quite impressed with the dogged pursuit they witnessed from the Professional Slackers. No rest for the weary when you play the Professional ball hockey players!

Mad Scramble vs Ottawa Dangleitis...classic OBBHA style of play in wild 11-11 tie. Lots of momentum changes until finally Dangleitis tied it up in the last minute of play.

Executive Golf vs Tsunamis...7-2 win over Executive Golf in a goalie duel. Kevin Chartier came out on top as the Golfer have secured a date in the final two weeks from now. Excited boys? You get a pracitise game next week against the Professional Slackers too.

Road Apples vs Godfathers...The Godfathers dropped an earlier contest to the Road Apples in what many say was the most dramatic loss of all time for the Godfathers. The Road Apples new coming into the night that they were meeting a giant on a small surface where skill will prevail as they were missing some key bodies at the back end. The first period was the most compelling part of the match as it was tied. Then in the second period the Godfathers exploded offensively to take command 7-2 and then cruise in the third period to a 9-4 victory to put themselves in an excellent position to make the finals with one more round robin game to go.

Net Masters vs Godsons...15-5 for the Godsons who were firing on all cylinders on this night. The Net Masters gave it a good run right to the end.

Thundercats vs Ottawa 69`s...8-1 69"s who exposed a short bench from the Cats. Mike Miller was the man of the game as he did his best to keep the score down.

Wise Guys vs Spartans...Spartans took it to the Wise Guys 10-3 who were helped out by some OBBHA family...the Godsons.

Road Apples show heart and hustle in impressive 12-5 win over Ottawa 69`s

The Dog Pound had the scoring touch and the goaltending for a 7-2 win over Ottawa Dangleitis.

Executive Golf 11-7 over the Green Hornets....the Green Hornets were a little short on the bench as some nagging injuries snagged a full out effort. Kevin Chartier kept the Hornets off the scoresheet early and he was the difference in this one.

The Ottawa 69`s brought an undefeated regular season into the play-offs only to meet a veteran laden Road Apples line-up that upped the ante for a convincing 12-5 win. Intensity at its highest showcased some quick ball movement. Rick Roy and Stephane Ducharme were noted for their strong performces.

Tsunamis vs Professional Slackers....Tsunamis held a 1-0 lead after one (seeds of doubt crept into the Slackers minds) and then trailed 4-3 in the third period before the non-stop game action and the non-stop effort from the Professional Slackers pulled them into an 8-3 hard working win.

Godfathers 8-4 over the Thundercats. The Cats gave a very solid effort against the OBBHA`s top team. The Godfathers have different gears and it was intrigueing to watch them move them up and down throughout the run.

Wild Dawgs are finding their scoring touch! Another huge outburst pushed them a 16-4 win over the Wise Guys who had a short bench and payed for it in the third period.

Blades of Steel vs Les Incompetants...a compelling game that was close from beginning to end. Les Incompetants are finding ways to win lately and deserve credit for their effort for the full hour. Blades of Steel seem to be getting their own chemistry back on track as they looked impressive for long stretches of the game. 6-4 for the French Connection.

Net Masters vs Spartans...Net Masters are having flashes of structure to their game. Once they get a regular crew coming to the game they will only get better. Spartans are a good club and showed in on the floor once again for the 12-4 victory.

Mad Scramble vs Macouns...wild one. Mad Scramble played with an extremely short bench. Macouns did not let up at all throughout the hour. The short-handed crew kept coming back and even taking leads. Finally at 7-7 the game became fire wagon ball hockey. Nobody was playing for the tie....then with only one second left in the game Macouns scored on a long desparation shot for the 8-7 win. Mad Scramble players were heart-broken and deserved a better fate.

Godsons vs Moscow Selects...the Godsons were the better team in the first period. Then the Selects got their passing game in gear for a 9-6 win.

No Games November 21. Please fill-out the survey from link on main-page...

Last games before the round robin play-offs begin were fast paced entertainment

With both play-off pools set (see standings for pools) for both divisions, all the teams played their hearts out for some pure OBBHA exercise.

Mad Scramble vs Blades of Steel...6-6 deep into the third period, but the Mad Scramble team only had 5 players and finally succumbed to the OBBHA non-stop action that tests the body so much. 11-6 for the Blades of Steel as they just kept up the pace until it was over. It could have gone other way early if not for some impressive Blades of Steel goaltending

Professional Slackers vs Net Masters...and the Slackers never slack off. 22-3 over the Net Masters who were short too.

Ottawa 69`s vs The Dogg Pound...The Dogg Pound kept this close into the third period only down 5-3. The 69`s put it away late on penalty shots and solid play. 8-3.

Wild Dawgs vs Godsons...you just knew the Dawgs wanted a big one after so many heart breaking losses put them out of the top four play-off round for the first time. They pumped in 25 and gave up 5.

Macouns vs. Les Incompetants...Les incompetants won this one 7-5. Very evenly played match.

Executive Golf vs Tsunamis...after two periods this was a one goal game, but the Golfers had too few swingers on the bench and Tsunamis used their bench strength for a 9-6 win.

Thundercats vs Road Apples...who said the Thundercats would be whipping boys for the top three seeds in the play-off round robin? With the Road Apples up 5-4 goalie Mike Miller of the Cats looked to the bench with under a minute and half left to see when they wanted to lift him for the extra attacker. But he never had to leave the net as the Cats scored two for the exciting 6-5 win.

Moscow Selects vs Wise Guys...Moscow played very well for a 13-9 win. They look pretty darn good these days with some pin-point passing plays.

Ottawa Dangleitis vs Godfathers...the rookies from the Ottawa team were up against the veterans from Godfathers with predictable results. 10-1.

Spartans vs Green Hornets...a wild 11-11 tie. Justice in the end.

Wild Dawgs upset by Spartans 11-10 to miss top four finish for first time ever

This is big news. The winningest franchise in OBBHA history has dropped into the lower 6 group of the play-offs for the first time ever. This very good team lost some very close games to to the top teams this sesion including this one to the Spartans 11-10. The Dawgs did provide some compelling story lines to this game...coming back from 5-1 and 9-6 deficits to tie. But there is some great ball hockey being played by quite a few teams in the Monday B-Div these days....and much of the credit must go to the Wild Dawgs for setting the bar!

Macouns vs Ottawa 69`s...Macouns were in this one after two periods only down 6-4. They kept the skilled 69`s off balance with a strong forecheck. But the 69`s scored a couple quickly in the 3rd period to pull away for an 11-4 win

Road Apples vs Ottawa Dangleitis...a quick game with some skilled play displayed. 12-4 for the veteran Road Apples over an up and coming Dangleitis team.

Wise Guys vs Executive Golf...Wise Guys pull off a mini-upset win in a close 6-4 game. For a close game the Wise Guys scored a lot in the second period, which was the difference

Godfathers vs Blades of Steel...10-1 Godfathers. Remember to have fun boys.

Moscow Selects vs Green Hornets...whale of a game here. Green Hornets had a 4-1 lead but Moscow came back to tie this one up very late in the game 7-7. Great pass plays all around in a very exciting fast paced match

The Dogg Pound vs Mad Scramble...a scrambly affair that was quite mad. 7-4 Mad Scramble.

Godsons vs Professional Slackers...Godsons witnessed a team that works hard from start to finish. The Slackers are a group that are in shape and love the game of ball hockey. Godsons love the game too, but need to build on the cardio in order to keep up with the green guys.

Thundercats vs Les Incomepetants...winner basically gets the top four finish and experience the top skill in Ottawa. The Cats won 7-5 and are aware of what is ahead of them. As long as they channel the energy of a couple of skilled players into the skill part and not the "other" illegal part of the OBBHA rules, they will enjoy the game experience. Les Incompetants will be a force in the bottom portion of the play-offs and are the favourites to win the 5th Seed.

Tsunamis vs Net Masters...the Net Masters played the game of the season for themselves looking for their first ever win...over a top 4 team no less! They played well and were up 7-5 with only minutes left in the game. The veteran Tsunamis taught the new team a lesson....never let up until its over. Tsunamis rallied with 3 heart breaking goals to take the game 8-7. Fun but a little hard to watch such a gallant effort come up ever so short. But c'mon....it was a blast!

Trick or Treat The Dogg Pound score with one second left to win

Ottawa Dangleitis thought they had settled for a tie but The Dogg Pound executed a pass from behind the net for a last second goal for a thrilling 8-7 win. Traditional barking ensued in The Dogg Pound. There was a party afterwards to be sure!

Tsunamis played their typical hard running game to neutralize the Moscow Select passing. 12-7 final.

Ottawa 69`s show Les Incompetants the passing game to perfection in 12-2 lesson.

Godsons pull off the upset of the night over Executive Golf 5-4. The Godsons survived a furious flurry in the final minutes from the Golfers. Cooper in the nets for the Godsons had an amazing game as the crowd chantèd `Schools Out`` after each big save. Only the Executive Golf Bleed....ooooh only the.....Alice has left the building.

Road Apples played an up-tempo game to outlast a spare laden Mad Scramble team 13-7.

Professional Slackers vs Wise Guys...The Slackers were surprised to get such an effort thrown at them from the Wise Guys. They Guys are Wise and come up with these great games when they have decent bench strength. The Slacking off ended as they Professionals came to play the later stages of the game for a 9-7 squeaker.

Godfathers vs Thundercats...the Cats played a very spirited game against one of the leagues best. 10-4 Godfathers in a well played match as the pace was good and the boys had some fun. Miller was pretty darn good with the glove a few times too for the Cats. It was only 5-3 after two preiods before the Godfathers pulled away.

Net Masters vs Spartans...Net Masters should watch a Green Hornets game. The Green Hornets block a ton of shots...and the Net Masters are giving up way too many shots from everywhere. A game plan needs to be implemented and asap! Spartans never let up in any given game and were rewarded wtih a 17-4 victory.

Blades of Steel vs Macouns...defence vs defence. Great goalie vs great goalie. Harding working team vs....well you get the picture. 6-3 for the Blades of Steel in a tight chess match game.

Green Hornets vs Wild Dawgs...blocked shots were the key for the Green Hornets once again. Their games vs the Wild Dawgs are legendary, with the Dawgs winning most of them. On this night the never say die Green Hornets worked hard to take away the Dawgs criss-cross passing play patterns as much as possible. The Dawgs are never out of it because of their offence. They scored often enough bagging 9, but the Greeen Hornets gutted out an 11-9 win to put the Dawgs on the outside of the top four play-off bracket for the time being (for the first time in this late in a session). They will need some outside help to get back up there over the next two weeks of play in the very skilled Monday night B-Div.

Ottawa 69`s captain takes a turn between the pipes and excels...

Thundercats vs Ottawa 69`s...69`s captain Nic Sauve bailed out his boys by jumping into the net to face a barrage of shots from the Thundercats. He turned away all but 3 of them as Ottawa 69`s looked impressive with crafty passing to set up 13 of their own.

Wise Guys vs Green Hornets....Hornets goalie Karine Hebert fresh off a shut-out and then a one-goal against perfomance over the last two weeks was primed for this one. Wise Guys captain Tony tried to get her off her game with email taunts during the week. It all came down to the game on the floor...and well Karine has given her team some big time confidence. 12-5 for the Green Hornets

Mad Scramble vs Macouns...this was feature as a game to watch. A wild first period feature 9 goals and a 5-4 Mad Scramble lead. The goals did not come as fast over the next two periods, but Macouns worked hard for 9-7 win

Professional Slackers vs Spartans...the Slackers jumped out to an early lead with some hard work down low. This lead came in handy as they held on for the 11-7 win over a plucky Spartan squad.

Godfathers vs The Dogg Pound...Godfathers needed a confidence boost. They got it with 13-1 win over the Pound. They certainly silenced the barking.

Net Masters vs Executive Golf...Net Masters need a defensive strategy. Actually any strategy. An 18-2 round for the Golfers.

Blades of Steel vs Ottawa Dangleitis...4-4 tie in a thriller. This game should end in a tie. It was that even from start to finish. Speaking of the finish.....Blades of Steel robs Ottawa captain Trevor Polk with sensational glove save in dying moments of the game. Maybe try the blocker side next time!

Tsunamis vs Godsons...Godsons witnessed first hand how to play a structured defensive game. The lesson from the Tsunamis is a good one in 13-4 win. They play a team oriented game only giving up outside shots and this keeps them in every game they play. Godsons goalie would love to see this on his side.

Road Apples vs Les Incompetants...How about Les Incompetants. They gave the Godfathers a great game last week. This time they were down 11-7 to the Road Apples and came back to tie it 11-11. They almost got the winner late too as they played hard from start to finish and never gave up. Feels like a loss the Road Apples said as they tried to sit on that third period lead and did not score at all in that final frame.

Moscow Selects vs WIild Dawgs...two great passing teams. Only the Dawgs did it better on this night 17-4.

Ottawa Dangleitis show their hustle and skill in tight entertaining 7-4 victory

The young team that can dangle can play some defence as well. A 7-4 win over an equally strong defensive team has given Ottawa Dangleitis some confidence. They know they can compete with all the Monday night teams now that they have a employed a defensive system. Macouns already has the defence down pat....they just need to start sniping some goals.

The Spartans jumped out to a 3-0 lead over the suddenly surging Executive Golf lads. Kevin Chartier kept the Golfers in it long enough for them to complete the comeback for a 9-7 win.

Road Apples showed a defensive team that they will just keep coming in waves until they flood the net. 17-4 over the Blades of Steel.

Wise Guys can score and they did. 19-6 over the Net Masters. Defensive strategy is needed for the Net Masters asap,.

Mad Scramble vs Ottawa 69`s...a rivalry game of sorts as Ken and his boys came in numbers to play the skilled 69`s. 9-2 for Ottawa.

Godsons vs Moscow Selects...Moscow peppered Jerry in the Godson`s net as they pounded them 13-3. Lot`s of laughs and a good run.

The Dogg Pound vs Thundercats...the Dogg Pound called upon back-up goalie Kevin Chartier to pull double duty after a 6pm win with the Executive Gold in the B-Division. However Mike Miller was in the Thundercats net and was solid for the 11-3 win.

Green Hornets vs. Tsunamis...these two teams have history and love to play one another. The teams almost always play a tough defensive game and with close low scores generally prevailing. How about this measuring up to tradition. Karine Hebert in net for the Green Hornets only gives up one goal and it was on a penalty shot that she got a peice of. Mike Bourada (only goalie to score in the OBBHA and it was a game winner at that) only gives up one goal until with only 30 seconds left Ken Crandal pots the winner. 2-1 final for tthe Green Hornets in an extraordinary game.

Les Incompetants vs Godfathers...Godfathers were looking to get back on track as they were winless in their last two games. After one period it was 1-1 and doubt crept into the Godfather camp minus their captain who was out hunting down criminals in the black Ottawa night. The Godfathers mustered up enough offence to hold out for the win over a hard running Les Incompetants. 8-3 final Godfathers.

Professional Slackers vs Wild Dawgs... highlighted as the game of the night during the pre-game hype of the Monday night slot of games. Both strong teams. Both expected to meet in the finals (some other teams are licking their chops though). Great goaltending, good defence and creative offences. And they are all in shape to play classic B-Div OBBHA style games. Martin Myre in net for the Wild Dawgs was focussed as was Chris Rutt in the Slackers net. The Wild Dawgs took a 3-0 lead after one period. The Professional Slackers scored 5 in the second to take a 5-3 lead. The teams traded one goal each in final frame for a 6-4 final for the Professional Slackers. An upset win some may say....but the Wild Dawgs are facing some stiff competition these days as teams have learned from the champs.....nice to see. Kudos to the Dawgs for showing everyone how to play the OBBHA game to pefection! Everyone reaps the rewards as Monday Night games continue to become more and more compelling as well as entertaining.

The traditional OBBHA play-off format is back in place for the Monday nights...

Top four in one bracket after nine games, while the 5 through 10 seeds move into a group of six teams.

-See more by clicking "Rules and Regulations" under the Adult Leagues link above......note that the Saturday and Sunday play-off formats are different for the Fall 2011 session (see the Sept 10 and Sept 11 blogs -first blogs of the fall session- for those leagues for a complete description).

Everyone braces for cold, turkey dreams start. Remember no games Oct 10...

Ottawa 69`s vs Godfathers...it is a beautiful game when played with respect and a ton of skilled play. This was a game that everyone wanted to be invloved in. With the Godfathers coming off an upset loss they wanted to get their game back on track. They took a 4-1 lead for the second week in a row. The up and coming Ottawa 69`s stuck with their game plan and defended Kay and Henter well....meanwhile they staged the comeback to tie it up at 4-4. The Godfathers showed character in taking the lead once again 5-4 only to see the plucky 69`s tie it up for good 5-5.

Wild Dawgs vs Tsunamis...another top team coming off an upset loss. The Wild Dawgs were determined not to lose two games in a row. However the Tsunamis squad had other designs with goalie Mike Bourada playing well and scoring a winning goal last week! (see last weeks recap below). The first period must have had the Dawgs worried as they scored late in the period for a 4-3 lead. They shut the door down in a very tightly played game (as usual with Tsunamis) to work their way to a 7-4 victory.

Ottawa Dangleitis vs Mad Scramble...very high tempo and evenly played match. Too bad there had to be a winner. Both teams worked extremely hard and this entertaining tilt ended 9-8 for Ottawa. They have been on the wrong end of some close matches and were quite pleased with the one goal win. Mad Scramble should be pleased with their effort this week! Nice to see a full bench too.

Executive Golf vs Professional Slackers...Executive Golf were pumped from their upset win over the Wild Dawgs last week and they came out flying and taking a 2-0 lead after one period. They Professional Slackers threw a blanket over them in the second to take the lead after two....then just plain old hard work took them to the promised land for the two points 8-4. Look for the highlight reel save from Slackers goalie Chris Rutt....it just gets better and better every time you hear about it!

Les Incompetants vs Blades of Steel...OBBHA style game at its best. Wonderful game that could have gone either way, but Les Incompetants pull out the 6-3 win. Exhaustion ruled the dressing rooms after this one as both teams gave everything they had for the full hour.

Green Hornets vs Net Masters...Karine Hebert gets her first shut-out in her 4th year on the OBBHA! She came in with an attitude and it worked! Green Hornets gave the Net Masters a lesson in team play for a 19-0 win.

Macouns vs Thundercats...9-5 for the Cats. Goaltending was solid and make it Mike Miller time for the Cats who showed some Thunder with their 9 goals. A spirited run with some fine plays on both sides.

Spartans vs Moscow Selects...young vs old. Runners vs passers. The passers win 8-6 in a close game for the Selects. The old guys got the lead and the young runners kept it close. An intense match that was fun for all who played and watched.

The Dogg Pound vs Road Apples..The Dogg Pound previously known as the `The Burn`` have entertained the Spring league fans and teams with their exuberant fans and animated players. With the new name and the barking has brought laughter and smiles to anyone walking by the gym....all for fun! This was a very fast game as the play was end to end and the ball moved back and forth at high speeds. Some creative passing from both teams made for some wild sequences of play. Each team took turns taking one goal leads through the first two periods with the Dogg Pound in the lead 6-5 deep into two looking for what would be termed an upset...but the Road Apples tied it up 6-6 to set up a wild third period. The Road Apples fresh off their huge win over the Godfathers last week dug down deep for the energy to keep up with the swift game of the Dogg Pound. They did for a 12-7 win.

Godsons vs Wise Guys...Godsons played one of their most high tempo games yet. The Wise Guys matched the new found energy from the Godfathers farm club. Wise Guys took a one win 8-7.

Mike Bourada of the Tsunamis becomes first goalie ever to score in OBBHA!...

Les Incompetants 7-5 over Mad Scramble. Tie game 5-5 til late when the short bench of the Mad Scramble had them running out of the gas as two late goals were scored due to missed coverge. Tongues were hanging after this one.

Professional Slackers came hard and fast and did not stop on the way to a 14-4 drubbing of the short benched Green Hornets. 14-4.

This game feattured a well played game with a wild finish. With the Thundercats up 6-5 wtih around one minute left...a bad change on a possession change gave the Blades of Steel the opportunity they needed to tie it up at 6-6.

Moscow Selects put on a passing clinic for the new team Net Masters...but the Net Masters stayed firm and kept pace throughout the match. 13-10 for Moscow as their patience paid off.

Macouns put together one of those complete games in all areas that you dream about playing....but the competition was good from The Dogg Pound.....9-2 as Tommy was solid in the Macouns net.

STOP THE PRESSES....WILD DAWGS UPSET BY EXECUTIVE GOLF....this game had the French Palace buzzing as partial scores were reported throughout the game to OBBHA players coming and going. The Executive Golf team stunned the defending champs with an early 4-0 lead. Add in the sensational netminding from their star goalie Kevin Chartiers and the Wild Dawgs wild flurry to attempt the comeback made for a compelling finish. In the end Executive Golf pulled off the biggest upest of the OBBHA fall session in any of the leagues. 9-7 as this was the talk of the night!

Road Apples vs Godfathers...ANOTHER MONUMENTAL UPSET! Godfathers took a 4-1 and were cruizing....then they appeared to score one `through`the net...but it was not counted, Then for the first time in Godfather history they gave up 10 straight goals. Yes Ten. The Road Apples came out with hearts of lions and were full value for this historic win. Never fear, the Godfathers will regroup.

Spartans vs Godsons...Spartans put their offence in gear and took full advantage of the Godsons missed coverage for a 15-3 win.

Ottawa 69`s vs Ottawa Dangleitis...Two young teams with lot`s of skill. Two Òttawa teams! Dangleitis stay in this one right through. Surprised? This is a skilled team so be ready to play them. A few undisciplined unsportmanships cards hurt them on the scoreboard and in the momentum category. 69`s take it 8-6

Wise Guys vs Tsunamis...old rivalary that is always fun to watch. 2-1 for Wise Guys after two periods as the goaltending was amazing. Speaking of goaltenders! Mike Bourada scored the game winner in a five goal comeback 6-3 win!!!!!!! The goal? Would love to report that it was wrist shot a la current GM Frank Masse when he played for Sacred Blue and was not only gunning for a goal, but was in all the predictions to do it first......but it was a floater that was going wide and found its way in on a whacky bounce. It only took over 3,000 OBBHA games for it to happen!!!!!!!! Watch for it to happen again very soon....

Some very well played ball hockey in Week 2 of the Monday Night leagues...

Blades of Steel vs Dogg Pound...Blades of Steel started with a short bench and gave their all until the reninforcements beat the traffic to help them out. As usual the Blades goalie was awesome and kept them in the game. It was 1-0 after two periods for the Dogg Pound. Then it was ``who let the Doggs out`` as they Pounded our 8 third period goals for a thundering and barking 9-0 win. A rare shut-out for a good dog in the nets.

Net Masters vs Godsons....Godsons jumped out to a first period lead of 4-1. Then the Net Masters started to close the gap to 6-4 and then a big push to tie it up a 7-7. Godsons sniper Mark Hughes was set up nicely by James Brown for the winner with just under 3-minutes left. 8-7 Godsons in a heart breaker for the Net Masters.

Road Apples vs Ottawa 69`s...Road Apples took a 2-0 lead and were looking good. The 69`s stormed back for a 3-2 lead and the second period ended 3-3 in a classic end to end OBBHA game. The third period saw the pace increase by a step in flashes as the teams battle exhaustion from playing all out. The 69`s scored the only game of the third period to take the vcitory 4-3 in a spirited match.

Professional Slackers vs Moscow Selects...the Slacker took a lead very early 2-0 and looked to their cheerleaders for more inspiration throughout the game. Brain-storming reslulted in `GO GO Dancers` being elevated in the gym for inhouse entertainment...but back to the game. The Professional Slacker used their patented strong work ethic for an 11-5 win over a resilient Moscow team that is still ready to party after a summer championship in the arena league.

Macouns vs Godfathers...the Godfathers are the class of the OBBHA right now. They have a complete team that moves the ball around in an impressive manner. The Macouns studied them and tried to match styles, but the skill level on this Godfather team is very high and fun to watch. 17-4.

Wise Guys vs Wild Dawgs...the Wise Guys have the goaltending and some nice play-making ability. Trouble is the defending champ Wild Dawgs have that too! 8-3 for the favourites.

Ottawa Dangeitis vs. Les Incompetents...5-3 for Les Incompetents. Another great outing by goalie Devin O`Grady for the victory as his team played some nice D in front of him. Dangleitis had trouble mounting any sustained offence but ran hard all the way through the match.

Executive Golf vs Green Hornets...a mildly surprising 12-3 win for Executive Golf given Green Hornets storied past. But Executive Golf now have a bonafide number one goalie in Kevin Chartier. He has given his club some confidence that is spreading rapidly throughout the lineup. A team to watch over the coming weeks.

Mad Scramble vs Thundercats...The cats prowled the floor throughout the match and pounced on Mad Scramble 8-3.

Spartans vs Tsumanis...a bit of a rivalry game as the two teams play similar styles and there are friendships on both teams. Tsunamis got some great goaltending from Mike Bourada and won 7-2 in a statement game.

Dogg Pound and Les Incompetants open up with classic well played 2-2 draw...

Unbelievable 2-2 game. So many chances. So many end to end rushes. The goaltending was specatular and even featured a behind the back glove save from Kevin Chartier in the Dogg Pound net. Devin O'Grady was more than competent in his net and kept pace save for save with Kevin for a most entertaining and fun game.

Thundercats nipped the young Ottawa Dangleitis squad 9-7. Some very skilled goals from both sides had everyone glued to this win from start to finish.

Spartans scored late and held on for a wild 8-7 win over the always high scoring Wise Guys. Breathless finish to this great game.

Green Hornets had their hands full with the Godsons for the first two periods and then pulled away for a 13-3 win.

Mad Scramble focussed early on the Game Manager and this is always a recipe for disaster. Godfathers cruized to an 11-4 victory.

How about another OBBHA classic tie. 4-4 Professional Slackers and Tsunamis. The stingy defence of the Tsunamis team backed up by the always stellar goaltending of Mike Bourada vs the equally hard working Professional Slacker who dress Chris Rutt in the net, who is no slouch himself. This created a most compelling match. The Tsunamis group showed resilence coming back from 2-0 and 4-2 deficits to earn the draw.

Ottawa 69's showed off some very impressive hustle, play-making and generally some wonderful skill in a 9-3 win over the quick and nimble Blades of Steel. The Blades of Steel come from the Saturday league (finalists in the Winter session) and will see the skill level jump on this signature skill night....

Moscow Selects and Executive Golf (formerly Last Call) played a see-saw game until time ran out on the Selects. 8-7 for the golfers in a wildly entertaining battle.

Macouns took the early lead only to see the Road Apples slowly gather up enough steam to take over for an 8-3 win.

Wild Dawgs are the elite of the B-Div and they welcomed the new team built from "online" registrations. These "Indies" have formed a team that will be known as the Net Masters....love all those names! The perennial champs showed them the ropes for a 20-5 win...no this is not a team record for most goals in a game.

Play-off format remains unchanged as posted under the Adult Leagues link "Rules and Regulations"

************Great Final Seeding games on the final night of the OBBHA until September...

Seventh Seed....goes to the Green Hornets for their 11-3 win over The Burn. Burn out from playing some great games of late for the Burn maybe. Green Hornets looked ready to play in the fall already!

Fifth Seed....fresh off their win over their older brothers Clutch Oven came out flying. The Professional Slackers just back from the PlayOn! tournament in Montreal had to dig down deep for more energy with just 30 hours for recovery. This game turned out to be an outstanding goaltending battle. At one point the fans wondered if anyone could beat these spectatularly solid netminders Professional Chris and Clutch Gerry. After two periods it was 1-0 for the Slackers as Chris Rutt was working on the rare OBBHA shut-out. Slackers toik the 2-0 and held until the last two minutes of the game...then Clutch Oven scored one and had several chances to tie it up. 2-1 Slackers in one of the lowest scoring games ever in the OBBHA. A classic!

Championship Game...Young Guns vs Mighty Drunks. Two teams with plenty of speed and skill. It was in evidence all game long. The goalies had all the pressure on them. It was a game of momentum. First the Mighty Drunks had it at 2-0 then the Young Guns took it away for a 3-2 lead then the MD`s took it once again for a 4-3 lead. Finally at 4-4 the MD`s started to pull away for a 9-4 win. A game played at top speed with some great plays in front of a large MD crowd.

Ninth Seed....Tanglhood Crows vs Wise Guys...The Crows were approrpriately in black a la the bird itself. They spread their defensive wings and played an amazing game from start to finish. This was there most complete game ever and they employed there recently established system to perfection. 5-1. Yes! 5-1 Crows!! They will nest all summer long very well.

Third Seed....Stingers vs Ottawa 69`s....another chess match yet again! As predicted this is what took place in the late show of the OBBHA on the last night until the fall. The Stingers played ``Crow`like defence while the 69`s created diamonds and triangles to try and penetrate the iron curtain. No goals in the first period. Then the 69``s broke through fror a 3-1 second preiod lead and held on for the victory.

Clutch Oven show their older brothers on the Young Guns how its done! Enjoy!

The supper table will be full of entertainment as will be certain schools as the Clutch Oven boys showed their older brothers that they are for real now. A year older and stronger, Clutch Oven outran the Young Guns and showed some terrific skill. Gerry was great in the nets too!! 8-5 for the younger squad as the Young Guns may need to change their name to ``Òld Guns now...bragging rights for Clutch Oven til next session!

First place vs last place...Mighty Drunks used passing lanes well whilte the Tanglehood Crows employed their new defensive system. It proved to be a very well played game. The Òld Crow`helping out scored 3-goals but it was not enough as the Drunks put the Mighty in their game for an 8-5 win.

The Stingers showd up with 4 guys and asked that Old Crow to help out....he scored 3 more times for a 7-2 win over the Green Hornets. Great effort from a small band of old guys!

Wise Guys Vs Professional Slackers....the Slacker held leads for most of the game. The Wise Guys slowly kept coming back until finally they tied if up with 17-seconds left. 5-5 in a thriller.

The Burn Vs Ottawa 69`s...The Burn keep on improving. This time they looked great in an 8-4 win over the skilled Ottawa 69`s. Great game for the night cap!

Green Hornets and Mighty Drunks entertain French Palace in crowd pleaser...

The headliner was a great game to watch let alone play in. The Green Hornets kept pace wth the front-runners for most of the game keeping the game tied at 5-5. Then the Mighty Drunks exploded for 7 straight goals in the third period for a 12-5 win to ensure they are in the top two final game on the final night.

Professional Slackers vs The Burn.....The Slackers made a goaltender change due to a lower body injury to a key forward. The Burn were excited to play as usual and brought their go go effort to match the always energetic Slackers. The Burn came up with an upset so to speak with a 7-2 win

Ottawa 69`s vs Young Guns in a huge game. This one had `Stanley Cup`like anticipation to it. Young Guns win 11-5 as 69`s lacked some discipline and got into card trouble. Guns ran hard for the win though as the remainder of the 69`s worked hard.

Tanglehood Crows vs Clutch Oven...the Crows threw a defensive blanket at the Oven boys. Very interesting game as a fefence first system vs offensive system had the fans glued to the play. The Crows deserved a better outcome once again, but the Oven got the Clutch goal for 4-3 win in a well played game.

Stingers get 5-0 win over Wise Guys who got the Stanley Cup flu.

The Burn get a win with exciting third period comeback over improved Crows

The Tanglehood Crows held period leads of 2-1 and 5-3 before The Burn staged a third period comeback. The Burn did receive some lucky bounces for goals but are full value for a hard effort in the last frame. The Crows probably played their best overall game of the session so it made for a very fun match,

Mighty Drunks 10-6 over the Stingers. A very good game for both teams. Shooters on both teams had many chances as the goaltending was spotty. Highlight of the night came when a few of the Drunk started to chirp the even-tempered Stingers and were shut down by one of their own...stating it was no fun listening to them and that he was trying to have fun playing the great game of OBBHA ball hockey. Nicely done!

Clutch Oven vs Professional Slackers...one of the games of the night. 4-4 tie. Clutch Oven had a chance to win it in the last 15-seconds too! Goaltenders Gerry and Chris were outstanding.

Ottawa 69`s vs Wise Guys...10-5 Ottawa 69`s behind the goaltending of Jason Craig. He was lucky Struts was only shooting on him for 2-periods....

Young Guns vs Green Hornets...the other game of the night. 9-8 Green Hornets in a game that was played at a frantic pace. Wonderful game and everyone slept well after this match.

Lot`s of iron hit in thriller between the Professional Slackers and the Stingers

Professional Slackers built a 4-0 lead over the Stingers on the strrength of some strong passing work. Then the Stingers gave a good push to close teh gap to 4-3.. In the last minute of the play the Slackers hit the cross bar and then the Stingers clanked one off the cross bar as well!

Clutch Oven vs Green Hornets...Clutch Oven finally get some scoring and Gerry in the nets was solid for a 7-5 win over the Green Hornets who had a strong outing.

Ottawa 69`s vs Tanglehood Crows...Crows again had a bad first period, but then played superlative. 9-4 loss but they looked like a ball hockey team wth a plan for stretches.

Young Guns vs The Burn...Young teams and lots of running. The Guns had the touch around the net for a 9-3 win.

Wise Guys vs Mighty Drunks...12-4 for the Mighty Drunks. The crowd was treated to a surprise of sorts. With hands heavier than any iron in the building, Liam Brennan had a dream game by scoring a hat-trick. His stock has risen over-night and teams are looking to make deal for him prior to the play-offs.

Crows win! Crows win! The French Palace faithful witness an impressive effort

The Burn and Green Hornets tie 7-7. Not much to choose from in this one as both teams deserved the point. A little uncharateristically the Green Hornet flashed undisciplined behaviour, but it was a new player. The Green Hornets were still a class act as usual. The Burn enjoyed the game and their exuberance is infectious.

The Professional Slackers put 1 in the loss column for the Young Guns. The Slackers built up a 4-0 lead and then played amazing man to man defence to hold off the Guns 7-5. A thoroughly entertaining game.

Tanglehood Crows have been improving every game utilizing some strategy and learning the game. They put together a complete game that included the effort level from the opening whistle to the final second of the game. No breakdowns or letdowns gave them a 6-4 win over the Wise Guys.

Mighty Drunks passed and ran the Clutch Oven into the gym floor for a 9-2 win.

Stinger vs Ottawa 69's....this was a chess match. The 69's thoroughly dominated play for two periods but only had a 2-0 lead. Due mainly because of Stinger goalie Terry's solid play. Early in the 3rd the Stingers got some breaks and tied it up at 2-2. But he 69's scored 3 late for a 5-2 win. Some great passing and ball control by the Ottawa 69's.

Defence! Defence! Defensive history made on this night involves every team!

You would be hard pressed to find any OBBHA night where not a single team reaches double digits on the scoreboard. Check out these games.....

Mighty Drunks almost hit the 10-goal mark, but bulged the twine for a 9-7 win over the Ottawa 69's. Hope the players realized that this was a whale of a game. Remember to enjoy all the great plays and great saves no matter who wins.

You know you are not going to score much on Clutch Oven. And you know they will not fill your net. So every goal is huge in their games. The Burn worked hard for 3 goals and Clutch Oven had enough heat left on the stove to double up The Burn 6-3. Great goaltending was the key here.

Young Guns 6-4 over Stingers. Another OBBHA classic as both teams played extremely well in a very evenly played game. Crafty play on both sides made for a highly skilled game with lots of oohs and ahhs!

Green Hornets 5-2 over Wise Guys! How about only two goals against for Hornets goalie Karine Hebert! She deserved the "shower" of applause for her effort on this night. Both teams enjoy playing one another and it is always circled on the schedule. They did not disappoint as another entertaining match was witnesses by the French Palace faithful.

Oh its such a great game this game of ball hockey. The Professional Slacker are the quintessential OBBHA team. They get the OBBHA 4-F motto for one. And they have adapted their game to play with strong effort, nice ball movement, strong positional play and they do all of this from start to finish. They were playing the Tanglehood Crows on this night....ah yes we can see you all wincing. The first period was predictable as the Slackers jumped all over Crow mistakes for a 6-0 lead after one period. Then came the call of the Crow (from Rob of course) and some strategy was employed for the second period. It ended 1-1 and the Crows were giving the Slackers a game now! Shockingly the Crows took the 3rd period 2-1. 8-3 was the final. The Crows are class OBBHA team as they also have embraced the OBBHA 4-F motto. Now they are playing with structure and the Slackers appreciated the effort level that was given against them. No rolling over for the Crows! They took flight and finished the game in a flourish. Oh and for anyone who forgot what the 4-F's are...Fun, Fitness, Friendship and Fairplay. It was in abundance for this game....hence all the ink for it.

Tanglehood Crows give Green Hornets all they can handle in OBBHA classic

Stingers vs Clutch Oven....Stingers jumped out to a 3-0 lead very early in the game.. Then Clutch Oven slowly came back to tie it up 3-3 late in the second before the Stingers popped one in for a 4-3 leader after 2-periods. Clutch Oven pinched in too many times to try and tie it up again as the they got Stung for it in a 9-4 loss.

Wise Guys vs Young Guns... Wise Guys came out with a ton of confidence, but ran into the the runners known in these circles as the Young Guns. The methodical game of the Wise Guys never developed as the Young Guns broke up play after play for a 12-3 win.

Green Hornets vs Tanglehood Crows...now thats OBBHA ball hockey! A very structured game from the Tanglehood Crows kept this one close all night. The Green Hornets implemented a very defensive strategy and jumped up into the play all night to keep the Crows off balance for sections of the game. But the Crows showed some gallant spirit to keep the Hornets on their toes right to the end. 9-7 for the Green Hornets.

Professional Slackers vs Ottawa 69`s...another interesting match. Two very skilled and quick teams. 69`s just had enough scoring as both teams had energetic efforts that produced a very entertaining game. Chris Rutt in the Professional Slackers net put in a remarkable effort that kept it close for his boys. 5-4 Ottawa 69`s.

Mighty Drunks vs The Burn...The Burn for the night-cap, always worth staying up for. Two young teams playing the great OBBHA game and enjoying every minute. Some great play-making, some great saves and plenty of sweat. The Burn fans were boisterous and would have given the Hab fans a run for their money. Ole Ole Ole....but the Mighty Drunks had some fans too and they made some noise as their boys won 10-5. Tons of fun.

Mighty Drunks stage exciting late rally for 5-4 win over Professional Slackers

The Tanglehood Crows played a great first period and were only trailing 3-2 to the talented Young Guns. But then they forgot to make that second pass and keep their feet moving....and that is when the Young Guns found the open lanes and started to capitalize on their many chances. 12-3 was the final, but that first period was interesting.

Professional Slackers vs Mighty Drunks...this one was a fast and furious game. The Slackers seemed to get out the gate a little slow, but then matched the pace. They held a 4-3 lead late in the game only to see a couple of very nice plays end up beating them. 5-4 for the Mighty Drunks.

Green Hornets vs Ottawa 69`s.....The Ottawa 69`s were in a nail-biter last week and won. This week they were on the other end as the Green Hornets edged them out 5-4. The Ottawa 69's have a few new players checking out the game, while the Green Hornets are doing the same. So the game was close and fun. Green Hornets goalie Karine Hebert stole the show with some clutch saves late in the game to preserve the one goal win.

The Burn vs Stingers...Both teams brought out replacement goalies to try-out the gruellng non-stop pace of the OBBHA. Both were exhausted at the end of this well played fast game. The two injured goalies enjoyed the night off watching the Canucks close out the Preds. The Burn were down and made a valiant comeback try backed by their noisy and fun fans...only to come up short 6-5. No worries, the party still went on....

Clutch Oven vs Wise Guys...the youngest team in the league has some zest and zeal when they control the ball at high speed. The Wise Guys countered with their methodical passing ball control. Interesting styles matching up. The Clutch Oven boys carried alot of the play but could not score. Wise Guys had few more in close chances and put them away for a 6-2 win.

The Burn are back and were featured in the most exciting game of the night too.

The boys from Blackburn Hamlet and their exuberant fans are back. And the entertainment value is still the highest when this group enters the French Palace. The Wise Guys came to play and this made for a whale of a match. Lead changes and comebacks resulted in a kiss your sister 8-8 tie. Loads of fun and some nice shots for goals. Can`t wait until next week!

Tanglehood Crows vs Stingers....the Crows were missing their goalie and Ronnie was kind of enough to jump into line of fire. And it was a barrage of shots. 16-2 was the final for the Stingers. A hard run for everyone and quite a few laughs...

Ottawa 69`s vs Clutch Oven.....the 69`s are an impressive ball control team. Clutch Oven was moved up from the OBBHA youth league to the adult spring league last year and did well. Another year and the young guys are looking even better! They have a legend in the net with Gerald Charlebois, who has represented Ottawa well in provincial and national championships back in the 80`s and 90`s. So this made for a very interesting match-up. 69`s hung on for the win 4-3 plus a late empty netter for the 5-3 final. A game worthy of a hand-shake!

Mighty Drunks vs Young Guns....the new team are the Mighty Drunks and the Young Guns are back after their top 4 finish in the OBBHA Spring league one year ago. The Mighty Drunks showed that they can do more than study at University. They stayed in shape while hitting the books and gave the Young Guns an excellent run full of skilled play. The Young Guns prevailed 8-6 in a game that could have gone either way.

Professional Slackers vs Green Hornets...veteran OBBHA teams from different OBBHA league nights were back and playing one another for the very first time. Similar styles made for a tight and positionally well played game. 5-2 for the Professional Slackers as they simply wore down the Hornets until a late surge of energetic play from the Green guys.

Wild Dawgs and Smoking Aces repeat as champions in similarly classy styles

The B-Div champions are the Wild Dawgs again and they did it with class and style in an 8-3 win over X-Treme. The Wild Dawgs played through their opponents youthful exuberance who were missing their older leader. The lack of leadership showed in the young team while the winners veteran mindset served them well yet again.

The A-div champs are the Smoking Aces again with their 4-3 win over the Godfathers.....the biggest compliment a team can receive is from their peers. Amd they got that in spades from the sold-out crowd gathered to watch. The Aces played their sold tight checking game and took every call in stride and in the spirit of the OBBHA. They were down 3-1 early and then roared back to tie it at 3-3 before the end of the first period. The Aces would take a 4-3 lead after two periods....and then it was absolutely wild that the third period had no goals....so you know the goalies were outstanding. This was very much a north-south game as both teams shot a ton and clogged the front of the net quite often. The east-west plays were few and far between, but were effective and exciting when executed. Great game everyone!

Architerra win a wild one 10-9 over GOBBA-Orange Crush in a shoot-out. Down by two goals the Crush pulled the goalie with 2-minutes left and got two to tie it! Then only one goal was scored in 10-shoot-out attempts!

Less Than 10 score one more than 10! 11-8 for the win over the Exterminators.

Macouns were down 4-0 but came on near the end only to drop a 7-5 decision to the Ottawa 69``s.....beautiful new jerseys were displayed by the 69`s for their final winter league game. You can see them in the Spring league...not sure what a game worn sweater will cost you! Number 69 would be the most popular sale item....

Godsons and Tangehood Crows met for the second week in a row and this one was a tight game. 8-6 for the Godsons. Lot`s of fun for everyone!

Red Line 7-5 over Green Hornets in the upset of the night. Who would have picked Red Line to win the 3rd seed a few months back!

Last Call 12-8 over Moscow Selects in an offensive style game. Could have been more goals if not for some near misses, posts and great saves.

Road Apples vs Blue Flames.....Blue Flames passing once again awed/wowed the crowd and the Road Apples. A pleasure to play and watch as the Blue Flames build a big lead and then coasted to a 9-5 win.

Wise Guys vs. Tsunamis.....8-5 Wise Guys in an excellent match to end the night. Not much to choose from between the two teams....just a great ball hockey game.

PM on front page Ottawa Citizen playing ball hockey today in Ottawa..No Lie!

We may be going to the federal polls because of Conservative government lies...but the Monday night OBBHA final seeding games are set and that is the truth!

The Blue Flames staged a tremedously exciting comeback to tie the Godfathers 10-10. Down 8-2 at one point and then 10-4 after two periods, it looked bleak for the Blue Flames. But they shut the door down and then tied the game with under one second left! The last 5-minutes were wild as the Blue Flames scored 5 times. However the tie did not put them in the finals as they needed the win and lost by GF-GA to the Godfathers as the tie-breaker.

*Note: After this session an amendment to the tie-breakers will be implemented: Any team that forfeits a game at any point in the season will automatically lose any and all tie-breakers automatically. There will be further penalties if the team did not give 24 hour email notice...all this will be updated on the website for the next Spring 2011session.

Smoking Aces 6-1 over the Road Apples.....well played as the Road Apples should be proud of their effort level against the defending champs.

Macoun continue to impress as they move the ball well in 7-5 win over Orange Crush.

Ottawa 69's were given a great run by Less Than 10.....7-3 for Ottawa as they threw the ball around in a creative manner that will serve them well in every game they play.

Architerra are having fun! And passing well for the second straight week. 10-5 over the Exterminators.

X-Treme 12-6 over Wild Dawgs...the real game is next week as both clubs go at it again in the Finals.

Moscow Selects a third period team? On this night they are as they stage a late rally to win 8-6 over Last Call.

Tsunamis 8-7 over Wise Guys in a classic.

Crows win! Crows win! KAH! KAH! The Tanglehood Crows jumped out to a commanding 5-1 first period lead and then played a smart game by clearing out everything in front of the net and continueing to play on offence. The most complete game this team has ever played. 10-4 final over the Godsons.

Green Hornets keep up intensity for 13-4 win over Red Line.

Some creative passing from Architerra entertains the crowd in an 11-5 win...

Ottawa 67's play their game of ball control over the ever-learning Maouns squad.

Archittera play to their potential and concentrate on the creativity of triangle passing that can translate into entertaining and successful ball hockey. Less Than 10 were more than impressed as Archittera controlled the game for 11-5 win.

Godfathers get the "Philly flu" in 1-0 loss to Smoking Aces.....

Blue Flames 8-7 over Road Apples.....Fraser vs Ali. Howard vs Dom. Too much fun! The beers went down easy and the tall tales were at their very best as the two teams played a great game at the French Palace and at the bar afterwards! Unfortunately Claude Turmelle pulled a calf muscle and is out for a long stretch...Dom?!

GOBHA Orange Crush 8-4 winners over the Exterminators...remember to have fun boys.

Wise Guys take a 7-6 win over Last Call.....very well played and fine goaltending. Tony! Call Chris re the Spring Session asap!

Tsunamis vs Godsons.....James Brown somehow shook off the Philly Cheese-Steak and gave it his all for his Godsons! You just can't beat this guys commitment to his ball hockey teams. Mike Bourada was the difference in the net for the Tsumanis in a 7-6 fun game.

Wild Dawgs play their game in 11-3 win over Green Hornets. The defending champs are firing on all cylinders and are a joy to watch. Nice work boys!

X-Treme is the team that will meet the Wild Dawgs next week in a warm-up game and then the final. They destroyed Red Line with their work ethic and creative work in all corners of the Blue Gym. 17-8 over a bewildered Red Line. This was play-off ball hockey in the Blue Gym!

It must be said that the Tanglehood Crows looked good on this night and could have won this game. But the Moscow Selects had their passing and snipers hitting their mark throughout the game. 15-8 in a game that was closer than the score will tell you.

NHL does not lead by example for any of us regarding the Chara incident...

The OBBHA implements the 4-F motto (Fun, Fitness, Friendship and Fair-play) and the yellow red card system to protect and police the membership. On top of that, heavy suspensions are doled out by a team of trained Game Managers that have played the game, care about the game, love the game and scrutinize everything to get it right. The NHL is an entity all on its own now. Everyone who picks up a stick to play on the ice, gym floors or the street look to the NHL as the leader for rules and what type of play is accepted and what is not. Recreational groups like the OBBHA are moving further and further away from the ``traditional`` code and trying to promote ``respect`` for everyone, whether it be player to player, team-mate to team-mate or the relationship between the Game Manager and all the teams. Clearly the NHL is moving in the wrong direction for letting Chara off scott-free for his hit. Hab fan or Bruin fan, no one can be happy about this. So we watch in disappointment as the NHL is chastised by sponsors, fans, politicians including the PM and even their own membership. The Chara incident is not a stand-alone event and the furor over this is just the straw that broke the camel`s back. Too many players are getting hurt due to the lack of respect amongst themselves and lack of disciplinary action from their league. The OBBHA will continue to work to protect all of you and ensure a safe and fun environment to play...and continue to ask all of you to police yourselves and respect each other and the great game of ball hockey. We can show the NHL how to do it properly.

Moscow Selects play the spoiler role in 14-11 over the hopeful Wise Guys

Blue Flames 16-3 over Architerra....too much North South running and not enough east west passing from Architerra. There is some talent and hustle, but not enough passes back to the D for setting-up or quarterbacking any kind of ball control...which is a must against the elite teams.

Tanglehood Crows were up 4-0 and the buzz in the French Palace was all about an upset...but then the sugar rush ended and the X-Treme rushed back for a 14-6 win to put themselves into the top four play-off group in the B-Div.

GOBHA-Orange Crush 9-4 over the Exterminators in a very hard running game. Sweat and hard work from both teams.

Wild Dawgs showed the Godsons how to use the cross floor pass to perfection in a 20-6 win. Some learning for the Godsons and some fine tuning for the Wild Dawgs.

Macouns vs Less Than 10....A low scoring 5-3 win for Less Than 10. Goaltending and good defence kept the fans watching this one intently. 3-3 until finally late in the third the green guys scored 2. Macouns gave it their all til the end even pulling the goalie, but to no avail.

Moscow Selects vs Wise Guys....the Wise Guys needed the win to give themselves a shot at the top 4 in the B-Div. X-Treme had already one their game and owned the tie-breaker over them. The Wise Guys did not want take the chance that Red Line would lose. But wait....how about some ink for the Moscow Selects! They said no and scored 14 times and held the fort enough to give up 11 in a wild affair. The old guys are still a factor!

Smoking Aces vs Road Apples...Smoking Aces were well the Smoking Aces. Road Apples were gritty and played their hearts out. The defending champs jumped out to 4-0 lead, but hold on. This would be no cake walk! The Road Apples employed their newly implemented defensive strategy to perfection. No run and gun. They shut-out the Aces iin the second and gave up a softy in the third. They scored a couple to boot for a tough 5-2 loss. Some confidence for the Road Apples going into the play-offs for sure!

Last Call vs Tsunamis...Tsunamis are looking very sharp these days. Last Call are no push over anymore. This made for a very well played game with strong goaltending as is the custom for both teams. 11-7 for Tsumanis.

Ottawa 69`s vs Godfathers....the Godfathers are at the top of the heap in talent and elite play. The 69`s are an exciting young team on the rise and get so much experience from these games. Its teacher vs student sometimes, but the 69`s tested the Godfathers enough to get their attention. 13-5 Godfathers.

Red Line vs Green Hornets....the math had been worked out and both teams were guaranteed to be in the top four after results from the earlier games. The advantage of the 10pm game! So this game was for placing...anywhere from 2nd to 4th spot. Green Hornets cruised to a 9-4 win and second place. Red Line gets a surprising 4th.

Road Apples vs Ottawa 69`s play for top four play-off spot in hot A-Division

Macouns vs vs GOBHA-Orange Crush...Macouns were up 3-0 at the end of the second period behind the netminding of Tommy and some fine over-all play. The Crush came up with a nice push in the third period to get the kiss your sister 4-4 tie.

First place vs Second Place. Wild Dawgs vs surprising Red Line....the surging Red Line team brought their show to the Wild Dawgs in front of a wild crowd at the French Palace. The Wild Dawgs slowly took over this one for 17-8 win. Red Line had the short bench and this hampered their usually high octane offence. Oddly enough after this loss, Red Line could still finish out of the top four if all the planets align against them in the final game of the regular season next week.

The big game of the night! Road Apples vs Ottawa 69`s....winner goes to the top four show with Monday nights elite teams. This one was fantastic. So was Chris Campbell in the Road Apples net only giving up one goal all night. The funny moment of the night came in the last minute of the game with the Road Apples hanging on to a 2-1 lead as the 69's were dominating the scoring chances.....a "ghost player" jumped on for the 69's to give them a too many men infraction. The embarassed player who was from a team that played next, but incorrectly assumed he was playing because he thought his game started early (hmmmmmm) disappeared into the French Palace somewhere for awhile. Some say the Road Apples planted this imposter there, but the 69's lost it because they weren't getting the ball back and this brain cramp from a key player cost them 2-penalty shots and the game 3-1. Only in the OBBHA! Kudos to both teams as this was entertaining stuff.

Wise Guys vs Last Call....Wise Guys were still an outside shot at the top four in the B-Division. A key 13-7 over the Last Call boys has put them in a position to make a move next Monday.

Godfathers vs Architerra....12-2 Godfathers but everyone was pleased with the effort level from Pietro's boys. A good solid run for everyone....and some lessons along the way.

Moscow Selects vs Green Hornets...this was close after 2 periods of play at 6-4 Green Hornets. A third period blitz gave the green guys a 14-5 win.

Exterminators vs Blue Flames...Blue Flames showed their magic with a 16-3 win.

Godsons vs Tanglehood Crows....the Crows were back in white and happy to in front of the home crowd at the French Palaces`famous Blue Gym. Usually the ink goes to the Crows goalie, but this night belonged to the Godsons netminder. A goalie with a past, but all everyone was talking about was the present. He was pretty darn good in an 8-2 win. Cooper gets the first star. Nice job "Coops".

Smoking Aces vs Less Than 10...11--2 for the Smoking Aces in another game full of great exercise and lessons.

Tsunamis vs X-Treme....extreeeeemly big game for the X-Treme to make the top four of the B-Div. This was the game of the night in the B. It was intense and well played. X-Treme was out in front seemingly comfortably before a third period wave from the Tsunamis tied it up at 7-7. The X team scored the winner with 44 seconds left in a wild 8-7 finish.

Smoking Aces and Godfathers play top notch game for the love of the game!

The fans filed in for this monumental clash. The film was rolling. The ball moved beautifully around the gym as skill and creativity were the gem-stones that shone brightly at every angle and triangle. The pace was frantic and the flashes of billiance were on full display. Not to sell this one too much....but the flow of the game at this level is something amazing to behold. Bravo Boys! Oh and the final was 6-4 Godfathers.....not that it really mattered as just being involved in this game was enough satisfaction for all.

NOT CAUGHT ON FILM and never seen before in ball hockey.....Mike Kay of the Godfathers is behind the Smoking Aces net. Nick Lamb is down low covering the posts looking behind him through the net meshing. Mike Kay lifts the ball with his stick, reaches around the net with his stick balancing the ball and then tucks it up over Nick Lamb and into the top corner. Simply unbelievable. You had to be there. Standing Ovation for Mike Kay!!!!

Ottawa 69"s take an 8-1 win over the Exterminators with precision play making.

Who said Tsunamis are defensive team! They threw caution to the wind and scored 12 for a 12-9 win over the Moscow Selects.

GOBHA-Orange Crush played a complete game (if not a complete bench) as they dismantled a very hard working and clean Less Than 10 squad.

First place Wild Dawgs vs Second Place Green Hornets....the usual great game between these two veteran teams. It seems the Dawgs always sneak out tight wins and they did again 9-7. Some great moments in this one and the difference as always between these teams were some sloppy line changes resulting in odd man rushes for goals.

Blue Flames put on a clinic in win over Road Apples. 15-3 ouch!

Tanglehood Crows vs Wise Guys....Crows hate wearing anything other than their regular white jersey colour. So they showed their inner true ball hockey colours and played a great game. Even though they lost 6-3 it was their game to shine. They played well defensively for the always solid Kevin Chartier in the nets, and created some chances by shooting at every opportunity. A few breaks and this could have gone the birds way. Not to be a Wise Guy....but aren`t crows black anyways?!

X-Treme vs Red Line....third vs fourth in the standings. Red Line can score and that they did. They take a 12-11 nail-biter that propels them into 2nd place!

Architerra vs Macouns....Upset of the night. 8-5 Macouns. The boys in red always give it 100% from start to finish. They played against a team that mirrors that image. It made for a great game. Tommy was the difference in the net for Macouns.

Last Call vs Godsons.....10-9 for the Last Call. Godsons ran out of gas late in the game, but everyone on both sides gave it everything they had. Kudos to Last Call for gutting this one out with a short bench. Some veteran leadership helped them get the two points.

Feb 21 Godfathers vs Smoking Aces

-If you want to see the best ball hockey in the city (country?).....come out and watch this game. It features some of the best ball hockey players in Ottawa. Some veterans and some up and coming future stars. The game will have so much skill it will give you the "wow" factor. On top of that, these players respect one another and are friends outside the intense competition. Come on out and watch this great display of skill and sportsmanship....and maybe even a litte comedy from James "I love the Blues" Brown. (He may have rythym, but he's got some 'blues' in him).

Valentines Night full of love and some good old massacres all from the heart...

Road Apples and Less Than 10 enjoy a hard running game as the Road Apples show some finesse in an 11-4 romp.

Wise Guys provide the upset of the night 10-8 over the favoured Green Hornets......Wise Guys scored the last goal into an empty net as the Green Hornets worked furiously to try and tie it up. Good for Tony and the boys.

Blue Flames vs Macouns....Macouns held a 4-1 lead after one and only trailed 6-5 after two periods. Than Sebastien Slythe and Dave Andre flashed their skill and the Blue Flames roared on to a 15-6 win.

Red Line through a new goalie in and a blanket over the Tangehood Crows 10-5....Red Line used the cross floor pass often with success as the Crows could not adapt their defence to this offensive strategy implemented by Red Line.

Godfathers 10-4 over Exterminators....Ashley played her first game in the OBBHA and scored as well! She almost had several others as Pat Lemay was snake-bitten and came up with the doughnut and a minus for the night. First star of the game went Ashley. Lemay may not get re-signed with efforts like that.....Brown is frowning and looking for pontential recruits.

X-Treme 8-6 over Last Call....

Ottawa 69`s showed some of their creative play against a very good club in Architerra. 10-2 in a fun game to watch. Nice to see all the good plays from both sides.

No surprise to see the Tsunamis play in another low scoring game....but the Godsons! James Brown played D and quarter-backed his farm team to 6-4 win over the Tsunamis. Keven Chartier played well for the Tsunamis net. Jerry came back after 9 weeks from an ankle injury and looked good in racking up the 2 points for the Godsons.

1-0 kiss for the Wild Dawgs from their valenine Moscow Selects.

Smoking Aces vs GOBHA-Orange Crush....Orange Crush played extremely well and had a 2-1 first period lead. They were in it right up unitl the third period. Smoking Aces played a top level game and were pleased this Orange group gave them such a great run. Mike Miller was outstanding for the Crush once again.

Red Line hang on for a 13-12 win over Last Call in the opening game of night

Newly trained Game Managers are implementing the `zero`tolerance rule to rave reviews from the players.....its all about the game now!

The headliner game featured a wild finish with Last Call hitting a post and just running out of time to tie it up. Red Line held the lead many times before it was tied 11-11, which set the stage for the thrilling ending. Lots of great action and fun

Ottawa 69`s 12-7 over a stubborn Macouns squad.....tight for the first two periods until the creative 69`s offence found some seams and some holes in the always tough to beat armour of `Tommy The Terrible` in the Macouns net.

Short benches but never short of hustle! X-Treme vs Wise Guys......10-5 X-Treme as the Wise Guyss kept it close for quite some time against the high scoring boys in black. Great effort from every single player. Sleep well everyone!!

Architerra vs Road Apples......Road Apples had to work extremely hard to win this one 10-6. Architerra are in every game they play and have some nice chemistry going at times. Very impressive and intense match.

Exterminators vs Smoking Aces.....Smoking Aces win 18-4 and take so many shots on Mario the goalie that he had to say no more after two periods. Thanks to Frank of the Blue Flames for pinch-hitting in the third period. Exterminators kept up the pace throughout the game though!

Godons vs Moscow Selects....Moscow win 16-8 as they wore down the Godsons over the course of the game. Godsons look forward to the return of their goaltender Gerry who has been injured for the last nine weeks. Moscow had a full line-up out for this one and what a difference this makes with for this team.

Blue Flames vs GOBHA-Orange Crush.....Sebastien Slythe was dancing on his good foot for this game. Pierre Caron brought out an old Blues T-shirt for this match and would have been the featured `grey`colour for the commercial that gets ``whites whiter`...check out some footage from this game on the mainpage. Cameo from Davyd Balloch might be seen if you watch close enough (turn up the sound too). Oh and the score was 10-2 Blue Flames, thanks only to Mike "stand on his head" Miller who looks pretty good on video.

Green Hornets vs Tsunamis...always a classic battle when these teams get together for a run. Not much to choose from right up until the third period with the Green Hornets up 6-5. Then the green team scored 3 to put it away for a 9-5 hard fought game.

Less Than 10 vs Godfathers.....Less Than 10 brought out their team mascot``Bird`who is a Teacup Chihuahau. Hopefully he made it into the video on the mainpage this week! Too cute!! So were the Godfathers in a 17-3 win.

Tanglehood Crows vs Wild Dawgs....Top dogs against the up and coming Crows. The Crows ran hard and learned alot watching the number one ranked team use passing lanes ot perfection. 9-5 Dawgs.

All Games are back on for Monday, February 7...Click here for more details..

-At one point the February 7 games were postponed due to a volleyball tournament....but the format has changed so that OBBHA action can resume as scheduled.

See you all back Monday, February 7th for more Fun, Fitness, Friendship and Fair-play!

-Wild Dawgs adapt to defensive blanket thrown at them by the Tsunamis squad

GOBHA-Orange Crush played a great defensive game and were backed by the usual strong netminding from Mike Miller....they were only down 3-1 to the mighty Godfathers before finally succumbing 5-1. The Godfathers enjoyed some quality minutes from old goalie friend Pierre Laroche who enjoyed the non-stop play as he tries to get back in shape.

Wild Dawgs vs Tsunamis....offence vs defence. Well the offence wins 10-1. The Wild Dawgs had read all the ink about maybe becoming a little predictable with their play making so in this match they changed some set plays into magic. Even Kevin Chartier who is not only battling a chest cold, but doing the Tsumanis a favour by filling in right before his own game, could not stem the tidal wave of offence coming at him. The crowd rose to its feet twice as kevin made some insane saves!

Blue Flames 9-2 over Ottawa 69`s....the Ottawa team is still learning the strategy to go with their very good skill level. A great experience to play the over 40-year olds (with Stephane while he lasted in the game) for the up and comers.

Last Call 11-2 over the Tanglehood Crows. Back to back for Kevin Chartier mentioned above....the Crows could not penetrate Pierre in the net for Last Call as he was very tidy with all his rebounds. Hey, `wedding bell`Shawn Quennville scored! Hope the boys bought him a beer!

Less Than 10 came up with a whale of an effort for 6-5 win over Architerra. Lot`s penalty shots late as the zero tolerance rule was learned once again. Always a controversial goal every time the Architerra angle is taken into consideration....video replay confirmed it was no goal. Angles boys Angles!

Green Hornets 20-15 over X-Treme.....we always expect the X-Treme to score huge numbers every game, but the Green Hornets scoring 20!!!! The two teams came up just short of OBBA history as their total of 35 goals was just shy of the record which is 38.

Smoking Aces give Macouns a lesson in ball control 17-2.....Macouns made them earn every goal though. Tommy was amazing as ever throughout the barrage of shots. Nick Lamb....how did that one get by you!

Red Line vs Moscow Selects.....16-10 for Red Line. They can score and look good doing it! Moscow enjoyed Xmas very much it looked like, but a short bench is just so tough try in the OBBHA game.

Exterminators vs Road Apples.....the Exterminators with the help of the spare list gave the Road Apples a game they did not expect. Good old fashioned fire wagon ball hockey! 10-6 for the Road Apples as they finally solved "Super Mario" in the nets for the Exterminators. Meanwhile Chris Campbell held the fort for the Road Apples if not his temper.

Godsons vs Wise Guys.....15-6 for the smart*** club. Godson's were missing "hug me" James Brown and their offence sputtered a bit. Tony was not hot for the Wise Guys, but the rest of the boys looked after the score sheet for him.

Tanglehood Crows are some kind of improved team as they test Hollywood...

The Crows met the stars from the Green Hornets and had the Hollywood men and woman impressed with their game. This friendly gathering of veteran OBBHA players gave the fans at the French Palace an Oscar performance. 7-5 for the Green Hornets as this goaltending battle had many supporting cast members contributing some fine plays.

X-Treme teams continues to score a ton and this time the Moscow Selects were the victims.....18-7

Blue Flames 14-2 over Less Than 10.......the losers were in awe of the Blue Flames creative passing and skill. A good run and interesting to watch.

Smoking Aces tested the full hour in a 5-3 win over Architerra......Smoking Aces were surprised to find themselved in this close game, but the Architerra team played well and even had a controversial goal called back. They gave up a few too many penalty shots as discipline was an issue at one point, but the team bench recovered from it with great leadership and class. A great effort against the top aces of the league.

Maouns vs Exterminators.....the defence does not rest. 4-2 for Macouns as the goalies were factors in a very tight game. An undisciplined play cost the Exterminators a penalty shot goal that really was the difference in fine display of ball hockey.

Wild Dawgs vs Last Call...Wild Dawgs are a team that everyone is figuring out. As the defending champs they are the measuring stick for everyone else. Most teams are adapting to their style and giving them a great run. Last Call finally came up short 11-7, but not without putting a little worry into the Dawgs.

Road Apples vs Godfathers....Godfathers flashed brilliance throughout the night while the Road Apples were like a pack of wolves trying to keep up. 13-4 for the Godfathers in a score that was indicative of the game. Some friendships were tested....otherwise it was a good time.

Red Line vs Godsons...whoa! 5-0 Godsons....then 5-5. 8-5 Godsons...then 8-8. Finally the Red Line offence was just too much as they march on to 15-12 win. Anyone looking forward to the X-Treme vs Red Line game? Could be more goals than ever scored before in an OBBHA game!

GOBHA-Orange Crush vs Ottawa 69`s...gallant effort from the Orange Crush with a small bench. 7-5 for the 69's with the empty netter. This was an end to end thriller. The Crush ran out of gas in the last minute. ....but they had tied it up at 5-5 with 2-minutes left only to have the Ottawa 69's score 10 seconds later for the winning goal.

Wise Guys vs Tsunamis...6-5 for the Tsunamis. Yes the Tsunamis play defence well and have a great goalie, but they seem to have a clutch goal scored late in the game often enough.

X-Treme and Godsons fill the net for 34, yes 34 goals in a wild shoot-out.......

Architerra play a complete game in both ends for an 8-3 win over the ever improving Exterminators.

Road Apples outlast GOBHA-Orange Crush 9-5 in fast paced, skilled and fun match. Some nice passing by both teams in this one.

Macouns goalie Tommy always brings his A-game to the OBBHA games. Against the Godfathers he always has them shaking their heads in amazement. This time he even got an assist! Godfathers win it 10-3

Ottawa 69's ran so much and so fast they ran home and forgot their cars in the parking lot! No kidding this team can run and pass. Nicely done in a 9-2 win over Less Than 10 who ran very well to make this fun to watch.

Game of the Night! Smoking Aces the king of the hill had a 7-3 lead over the Blue Flames vanish....the Blues took an 8-7 lead! But the Smoking Aces pulled it out late for a 9-8 win. You had to be there to enjoy OBBHA at its highest level. Wow!

The headliner was the 19-15 X-Treme win over the Godsons. If there are many different ways to score in the OBBHA, both these teams found it in one game!

Tanglehood Crows kept pace with Moscow Selects 5-5 until the 3rd period. The Red Machine pulled out 12-7 win over a very game Crows squad. The Crows are selling more tickets for their games these days, as the French Palace fans have found their new favourite team.

Wild Dawgs had 5-0 first period lead over the Wise Guys. Long story short? The Wise Guys gave a gutsy performance to put a scare into the defending champs. 7-5 for the Cup holders....and some very entertaining ball hockey.

Green Hornet Hollywood style. The new movie about crime-fighting is full of irony. How about the OBBHA Green Hornets playing the OBBHA game the way it was envisioned. Is it Karine Hebert's charisma, Davey Slimmons demeanor, JP's friendly smile? Frank's? The return of Greg Baca??? Last Call gave them a ***** game as the movie stars prevailed 12-7.

Red Line and Tsunamis played in the B-Div game of the night. A wild 8-8 tie that had many lead changes before the Tsunamis finally tied it up for good. A wild late match worth staying up late to watch on the OBBHA station....until next Monday....same OBBHA channel!

7-7 tie for Orange-Crush and Architerra highlight skilled and fast paced night.

The always breath taking pace of the Monday night games in the A and B divisions were once again on display...with no sign of lethargic play resulting from the Holiday food and drink!

Smoking Aces 10-2 over Ottawa 69`s.....well played right to the end. Nick Lamb made it tough on the snipers for the 69`s.

Exterminators came with more than 10 to play the Less Than 10 squad. Once the Exterminators finalize their roster they will have a decent team....some rough spots to open up the session with an 11-4 loss.

Godfathers vs Blue Flames in another awesome display of OBBHA ball hockey.....once again the Blue Flames matched the Godfathers stride for stride and goal for goal until the third period. 11-7 Godfathers.

The game of the night is in the headlines.....the 7-7 game was full of momentum swings and fun stuff. A little too testy at times, but the Game Manager took care of that!

Maoouns had a 5-2 lead over the Road Apples after two-periods and were looking for the huge upset of the night. But Rick Roy rallied the troops and Chris Campbell focussed in the net as the Road Apples exploded in the third period for an 8-6 come from behind win.

Wise Guys were firing on all cylinders as they dismantled the Red Line 16-7.

Green Hornets had their hands full with the ever improving Godsons. 8-4 in very well played game.

The Tanglhood Crows have solved their goaltending predicament with a huge free agent signing, Kevin Chartier. He almost stole a game from the alway tough Tsumanis goalie Mike Bourada. A titanic defensive battle went to the bad weather team over the birds 6-4. This was OBBHA at its best as the 4-F motto of Fun, Fitness, Friendship and Fair-play is clearly understood by both teams.

Wild Dawgs vs X-Treme. A great 13-12 win for the defending champs was marred by the fact that the teams forgot about 3 of the 4-F's......

And then two teams get right back into the OBBHA swing of things and enjoy the OBBHA product to its fullest. a 6-6 tie between the Moscow Selects and Last Call. Last Call lived up to their billing with a late goal to tie it. The Moscow crew were impressive once they got the ball moving with their excellent passing....and the Last Call boys were at their best as they came up with strategies to defend against this Russian onslaught.

Smoking Aces and the Wild Dawgs win thrillers to take championships.

Smoking aces win their first OBBHA A-Division title with an 8-6 win over the decorated Godfathers. Another amazingly skilled game. Smoking Aces are the team of the present and future. A treat to watch and to play. The Godfathers may salute the Smoking Aces as new champs, but the old champs did themselves proud in a classic final.

The B-Division final was a rubber match between the Moscow Selects and Wild Dawgs. Splitting the season series the boys got down to business with creative play mixed with 100% effort. Goaltending was great a both ends. The game was played at a high level and with great respect for one another. Not much to choose between these clubs. 6-5 final for the WIld Dawgs.

OBBHA History! This was the game that shattered the record for most total goals ever in an OBBHA game. Red Line 21 Tanglehood Crows 17. This barnburner was not friendly to the goalies to say the least. Hell bent for goals this game was offence offence offence! Red Line takes 9th seed in B-Division

Less Than took the 7th seed in the A-div with a wild 10-9 shoot-out win. The All Blacks had tied the game 9-9 after trailing for all of it, to force the shoot-out. Lot's of fun in this one!

Ottawa 69's take 5th seed with 6-4 win over GOBHA-Orange Crush. The Crush held the lead for most of the game until the 69's made the comeback. An intense match played at the limits of it, as the focus on winning seemed paramount. Some big time good plays were made in this one.

Blue Flames took 3rd with an 11-7 over the pesky Road Apples. Shooters looked good in this well played game.

Macouns 9-2 over short benched and for awhile an empty net Exterminators squad. A run for everyone though.

Green Hornets take 3rd in the B-Division with 19-13 wild one over X-Treme. And you thought 32 goals would be the most you see all night. Spotlight on the Crows and Red Line.

Tsunamis take 5th wtih 5-4 win over the suddenly competitive Godsons. Nice job by the Godsons for turning around a team that did not how to play into a team that fits right in with the tough group of tten in the Monday night B-Division. Tsumanis palyed their tight defensive game to close to perfection yet again.

Wise Guys take 7th seed with 7-4 win over Last Call. Another spirited game between these two clubs.

Godfathers-Blue Flames engage in a wonderful game full of skill, good will.

December 6th.......Godfathers edged the Blue Flames 6-4 to move into the finals against the Smoking Aces. This game was awesome. Blue Flames showed great sportsmanship as they delayed starting the game waiting for the Godfathers goalie. A big thanks from James Brown and company. The speed and skill of both teams were on display as both used triangle passing to generate one timers. Blue Flames move on to play for the 3rd seed vs the Road Apples who gave the Smoking Aces a great run in an 11-3 loss. Yes the Road Apples scored 3 times on the invincible Nick Lamb!

The top four in the B-Div will do it all again against the same teams next week! The Wild Dawgs secured their moment in the sun next week as they trounced the Moscow Selects 17-8. Both will meet in the final next week….they have beaten each other once this year, so it is a fitting final. Green Hornets 14-12 over the X-treme in a very exciting offensive game. A toss-up for next weeks 3rd seed game.

How about the Godsons winning 15-5 over the Tanglehood Crows to ensure they are playing for the 5th seed against the Tsunamis. Four teams tied for the 5th through 8th spot and the GF-GA had to be used as the tie-breaker because all teams had not played one another to use the head to head method of breaking the log-jam. So that sets up Last Call vs Wise Guys match for the 7th seed. The Tanglehood Crows meet the Red Line for 9th. The Crows are in search of a goalie for the next session starting in January…..so anyone who knows a goalie who wants a full-time spot, please contact John and he will organize contact with the Crows Captain.

Back in the A-div 5-10 spots, some interesting matches have emerged. The Ottawa 69’s vs GOBHA-Orange Crush for 5th should be a dandy. Both teams won low scoring games 5-2 and 6-2 respectively. Less Than 10 goes for 7th vs the All Blacks. Macouns vs Exterminators for 9th.

Other highlights…..Macouns score with 20 seconds left to spoil an All Blacks shut-out bid……Red Line flash more offence in 12-8 over Last Call…

November 30: Smoking Aces Nick Lamb goalie of the future or the present?!

Last January, Smoking Aces goalie Nick Lamb stunned everyone when he recorded OBBHA’s first back to back shut-oust. Now shut-outs are very rare in the OBBHA with only 6 of them in over one thousand games played over the last three years! This time the Lamb turned Lion only gives up one goal in two games…but against the cream of the shooting crop in the Blue Flames last week 4-0 and this time 7-1 over the vaunted Godfathers. Move over Pierre Laroche…its Nick Lamb's time. Plus the Smoking Aces are playing like the old Blues did back in the day when they were unbeatable. Come out and watch one of their games….the skill level and focussed intensity is exciting to watch.

Ottawa 69’s are trying to clone the Smoking Aces game of creative offensive cycling….they were good enough at it for a 6-3 win over an ever improving Less Than 10 squad. As always the under 10 team brings diplomacy and gentlemanly demeanors to the OBBHA game night after night…

Exterminators played a whale of a game vs those sparkling Smoking Aces a few weeks back. They proved that was no fluke with an impressive 9-5 over a short benched All Blacks squad.

Blue Flames 14-8 over the Road Apples in a game everyone expects in the OBBHA…lot’s of goals. The goaltenders did their best, but the teams just wanted to play offence and it made for lots of fun end to end rushes and big blasts to the high corners of the nets!

GOBHA-Orange Crush are shedding some bad Karma and showing they can concentrate on a good run. When they do this they look pretty good. 11-6 over the defensive minded Macouns. Macouns made some plays in this one too.

Game of the night as Green Hornets and Wild Dawgs tie 9-9. The green guys had the momentum and 6-4 lead going into the third period. Then the favourites pounced quickly early in the last frame for a 7-6 lead. The Green Hornets showed some grit coming back for a 9-7 lead before a late surge from the Dawgs tied it up . Great use of time and space by both teams. They respect one another and this made for another top 10 classic OBBHA game!

Last Call and Wise Guys always play these amazingly wild and close one goal games. This time the Last Call boys edged out Tony and the guys 8-7. Big time goaltending from Pierre in the nets for Last Call.

Tsunamis have the Crows number. 10-5 were the numbers this time. Tanglehood Crows are making positive stride with each and every game they play. To get 5 on the tight defence of the Tsunamis is not easy.

Moscow Selects 12-9 over X-Treme. Some very nice passing in this important match. This could have gone either way as there were plenty of near misses to along with all the goals.

Speaking of goals, check this out. A terrible start had the Godsons losing 4-0 just a few minutes into the game. By the second period the Godsons looked like the Godfathers with a 13-7 lead. Red line then mounted a monumental comeback try, only to fall short 16-15! Godsons and Redline. Who knew?!

Monday, November 22 Play-off Openers!

How about Nick Lamb of the Smoking Aces shutting down a talented Blue Flames team for a 4-0 Smoking Aces win. This was skilled a game played at a high intensity with lighting speed. The creative passing made for some quality play and top notch goaltending as Dave Andre was no slouch in the net for the Blue Flames

After the Road Apples upset the Godfathers last week 10-9….the Godfathers were ready for this one jumped out to a 9-3 lead after two periods. The Road Apples showed some nice character and pecked away at the lead for a 9-7 final. A fun game to watch if not to play!

Ottawa 69’s used their cycling passing game to cruise to a 12-3 lead over the still learning Macouns bunch. The box sytem versus the cycle…..interesting contrast, but the creative play took the ball control factor to its extreme in this one.

Speaking of X-Treme….they gave the Wild Dawgs all they could handle as the top club won 12-8. The Wild Dawgs patiently wore down the X-Treme with their trademark quick shifts and quick pass and shoot plays.

GOBHA –Orange Crush played ball hockey and enjoyed themselves as they moved the ball well and sniped a few nice ones to boot. 12-2 win after dropping a one-goal nail-biter the week before to the Exterminators.

Less Than 10 looked more than impressive in their 13-7 over the always stubborn All-Blacks. Lot’s of ball movement in this match as both clubs responded well to the fast pace.

Last Call eke out an 11-9 win over the Tanglehood Crows. Crows missed some chances early or this one could have been even closer.

Red Line held the lead for most of the game and seemed to carry the play for the first half of the game. Then the Tsunamis made the big comeback after being back-stopped by their goalie.

Wise Guys edge Godsons 9-7. Captain “Tony C” had a great night on the floor and made some nice moves to create a stir from the crowd.

How about those Moscow Selects. They have a sniper, a sold netminder and throw the ball around extremely well. A tight game tied at 7 was blown open in the last 2 minutes by the old Russian crew for a 10-7 win. The Green Hornets were unlucky as an apparent game winning goal was turned back due to a kicking motion….heart breaker really for the green clad squad, but a great time and game was had by all.

October 25

Election Night..No A-Div Games But some OUTSTANDING B-Div Games:

Wild Dawgs had to work very hard for a 6-3 win over the stubborn Tsnamis. They came wave after wave at goalie Mike Bourada who simply outstanding in the nets.

Red Line jumped out to a 6-0 lead for their fastest start ever. The Tanglehood Crows could not recover from their slow start, but they played the Red Line even the rest of the way. 14-7 for the boys in red.

The high scoring X-Treme team were down 2-1 after two periods to their long time rivals Last Call. Then 3-1 with 7 minutes left. Then it became a wild OBBHA shoot-out. X-Treme scored 2 goals in 10 seconds to tie it before taking a 4-3 lead. They gave that up and were down 5-4 before re-taking the lead 6-5. Last Call tied the game with 6 seconds left. 6-6 tie. Mike and Pierre the goalies were very good in the one.

Godsons played their best game yet against the very strong Green Hornets. They were down only 2-0 after one period. They lost 11-2 but there was structure to their game and they gave the green squad a very good run. Newly acquired goalie Jerry Sirois was simply awesome in the net. Welcome to the OBBHA game Jerry and the 70 total shot-clock!

Moscow Selects had the lead most of the night and looked like they were cruising with a 5-2 lead late in the third period. Then their shooters became colder than Siberia. The Wise Guys staged an impressive come from behind victory. 9-7 was the final total in another wild last few minutes to an OBBHA game!

September 27

The buzz in the "French Palace" was all about the Wild Dawgs vs Green Hornets game. It did not disappoint! The defending champs once again showed how to play a classic OBBHA game in the ""Blue Gym". Their creative passing and timely line changes are second to none. The difference in this game vs the always determined Green Hornets were those line changes. A couple of sloppy changes by the Green Hornets left their always sturdy goalie Karine Hebert at the mercy of the sharp shooters. 9-6 for Wild Dawgs in a classic.

Wise Guys 8-6 over Last Call. Two teams that have vastly improved their games.

Red Line scored a franchise high 19 goals as did the Godsons with 12. Almost ran out of marker ink for this one.

X-Treme team is for real. A 12-10 win over the Moscow Selects. The Selects looked great at times using time and space a la Wild Dawgs.....a tight one right down to the final seconds. The X-Treme team always scores goals and now they have a goalie who can make the big save when needed!

Crows win! Crows win! 13 goals were enough against the always low scoring Tsnuamis. The losers had to deal with a no-show goalie but were bailed out by Mike of the X-Treme who did double duty this night. Not bad for the second oldest goalie in the OBBHA!

High flying GOBHA-Orange Crush vs the defensive minded Macouns. Contrasting styles created an interesting game. 8-4 for the Crush as Macouns goalie Tommy was oustanding once again. Nice passing from the Crush was the difference.

Less Than 10 gave the Smoking Aces and excellent run. Great pace in a 14-4 win for the Aces.

Godfathers 14-5 win over a hustling All Blacks squad. All Blacks lost their team organizer and "encourger" to an errant stick. Keep those sticks down boys!

Road Apples gave the Blue Flames a scare in an entertaining game. Jordan Pynn of the Road Apples was great backing up their #1 goalie Chris Campbell. He held them in it until an "Own Goal" became the difference....a "Roof Daddy"...sorry Randy.

Game of the Night! Ottawa 69's scored with 21-seconds left to edge the Exterminators 7-6. Nick of the Exterminators scored a wonderful goal....showing that goalies can score too when given the chance up front! You would have seen Nick in the nets for the Black Eagles and Das Blau.

September 20

Quite a night of action....superalitive play to be frank.

Skill is something to behold. It was abundant in the Smoking Aces vs Godfathers match. 11-8 for tthe Godfathers where the game was so swift that the goaltenders could not be faulted for the 19 goals that were scored. This was ball hockey that can be matched by few other games anywhere.

Road Apples sent their regular goalie off to the abyss of honeymooning......and brought in none other than James Brown. He was the difference in 9-7 win over a game GOBHA-Orange Crush.

James Brown? In the nets for the Godsons too in a 12-2 loss to the high flying X-Treme....it could have been worse if not for his heroics. Godsons keep getting better period by period though.

Nobody wanted to play the Blue Flames after they were pasted last week. Too bad for the talented Ottawa 69's.....as they met their match in a 10-3 loss to the defending champions.

Macouns alway have played in the tightest low scoring games in the B-Div. Make that the A-div too after another tight low-scoring loss to the Less Than 10 group 4-3...yes Tommy was spectactular once again.

Green Hornets buzz the net often in a 15-5 win over Red Line. Karine looks unbeatable in the net these days.

Wild Dawgs were given a surprisingly spirited game vs the Wise Guys...they had their hands full in an 11-9 win.

Last Call ran into the mighty Dave Andre in the nets for Tsunamis.....tough to score goals in this one as the stormy team won 7-4 over a resilient Last Call.

Crows scored 9 times....but the old boys from Moscow Selects were on fire and ready for this one by scoring 20 of their own.

All Blacks nipped the Exterminators 8-6 in nail-biter. Could have gone either way.

Opening Night The pleasent surprise on this night belongs to the Macouns who moved up from the B-Div to play the vaunted A-Div. They had a 3-1 lead over the highly skilled Godfathers into the third period. Tommy in the nets for Maoouns was a standout goalie in the B-Div for years....and now is one in the A as he had the Godfathers shaking their heads but applauding the show he put on. They finally solved him for a 5-3 hard run win.

Exterminators with a new look roster met up with the new kids on the block...Less Than 10. It was well played and close. 6-2 for the Exterminators as Scottie in the nets only surrendered two in a solid outing. Some close calls around the net in an exciting game.

Smoking Aces had their aces and beat a short benched Blue Flames 12-2. You just can`t compete with less than 8 runners.....

GOBHA-Orange Crush 6-5 over the All Blacks....the All Blacks had the territorial advantage, but the Crush had some late magic to win a squeaker. Some nice skill was displayed in this one along with some spectatular goaltending.

Road Apples vs Ottawa 69`s. What a pace in this one. A pleasure to watch. Chris Campbell had a strong game in nets for the Road Apples. The 69`s will be an entertaining team to watch this session. In workman like fashion the Road Apples prevailed 10-4.

Wild Dawgs the defending B-Div champs. They welcomed Red to the Monday B-Div...as this team moved over from the Sunday B-Div to the ever-strong Monday night B-Div. 19-4 as Red Line learned the short bench does not work in the OBBHA non-stop stlye of play.

Tsunamis take a 20-9 win over the newly formed Godsons. Give this new team a chance to gel and they will make some plays and be in the games.

Green Hornets behind the netminding of Karine Hebert stung the nest the Tanglehood Crows live in 16-4.

X-Treme continues to score tons in the OBBHA. A 13-8 win over the Wise Guys with their new goalie Mike was an end to end fun game to be a part of.

Some popular excerpts below as requested prior to the upcoming 2010 Fall Session!

Enjoy!!!!!!

Fans filed into the W. Erskine Johnston arena in Carp for the first place showdown between Russell and the West Carleton Warriors Atom B Rep juggernaut. The Warriors were coming into this match having played some of their best hockey of the season at the Silver Stick Tournament in Pembroke last weekend. Prior to this tournament in league play, this excited group of hockey players took both ends of a home and home series against the Orleans team in impressive style. At the weekend tournament in Pembroke the Warriors showcased disciplined team play that produced very entertaining games. Breakouts, that were worked on in practice, became second nature and this positional play and heads up passing resulted in a fast paced exit from the defensive zone. The Warriors were on a roll and ready to battle for first place on this night following such strong play over the previous weekend. But first, a quick trip to the quaint canteen in the Carp arena was in order. Hot chocolate of course! With memories of a rich, creamy, frothy delight from the Stittsville arena canteen, an order with passionate expectations ensued. This outlet uses ‘Dure-licious’ mix. Its smooth taste warmed the soul. However one is left with a clear notion that a return trip for the ‘Dutch Mill’ mix in Stittsville is in order. While mulling over this, a distinct message was detected from the hockey talk that cascaded down from the near-full stands. Could two teams that had played a lot of hockey recently, muster up the energy to play a fast paced game? Identical records, tough matches over a 3-day weekend, sleeping away from home for a lot of the players and only one night off with plenty of homework skewed the odds against them. And the game was ever thus. Russell and the Warrior players showed heart, but the skating legs and mental sharpness vanished. The game was played up and down the middle of the ice. There were bumps and isolated flashes of creative passing, but it was a grinding game. The first period ended scoreless. Russell had taken the play to the home team, but Zachery Craig was on the receiving end of an illegal hard cross-check that resulted in a power play late in the period. Craig took the hit and sprang back up quickly to his feet to the delight of the home crowd. This energized the Warriors and they dominated the play for the rest of the first period and well into the second. Then suddenly the visitors gained the momentum. The Warriors could not get the puck out their own zone for long stretches. Warrior goaltender Patrick Kealey took it upon himself to make save after save. Some wild scrambles had the crowd screaming and wriggling in their seats as the puck slid precariously close to open sides of the net. After finally getting the puck into the offensive zone, captain Jacob Melhuish stick-handled the puck out from the side boards and skated in the slot to fire a blistering wrist shot that cleanly beat the Russell goaltender through the five-hole. 1-0 Warriors! In the third period the Warriors started to move the puck out of their own zone nicely…Chris Ewbank showed some poise. He looked like Chris Pronger! He hit and was patient with the puck. His heads up passing to forwards and his D partner Tristan Lemaire resulted in easy outlet plays to get into the neutral zone. The line of Stacy Leah Galasso, Colby Cochrane and Jake Scissons moved the puck into the offensive zone and fore-checked hard. The D pairing of Ryan Kyte and Cody Kennedy worked well with the other forward lines moving the puck out of the defensive zone. The lines of Jake Oakley, Jacob Melhuish, Kyle Weedmark (who worked extremely hard) and Michael Near (another hard worker on this night), Kyle Clarke, Zach Craig….used the boards whenever in trouble in the third period. It looked like victory for the Warriors, but the Russell team showed why they were tied for first place with the Warriors. Russell had several breakaways thwarted by keeper Kealey before finally scoring on a hard wrist shot. The highlight of the night came late in the game with a puck slowly sliding down ice toward the Warrior net. With two Russell forwards bearing down on him, Kealey shot out his goalie stick for the poke-check. He timed it perfectly and with force. The puck was not picked up by a Warrior, but by a Russell player who tried to get the puck to his own player standing beside the net. Somehow the puck did not go in with the crowd in a frenzy! The Carp Phantom thought 1-1 was a fair result for this game considering the fatigue issue, but had to give out a win in the hot chocolate debate.

Spring 2010 Finals:

9th Seed is taken by Epic Fail. The epicentre for epic failure was never found in this one for the Epic Fail. The only failure was the lack of fan attendance. All shook up perhaps from their first win the night before. How about Curtis scoring twice in this one after scoring his first ever goal last night. 15-11 for Epic Fail. It was 10-10 until late in the game. Tanglehood Crows, decimated by injuries this session gave it the ``old crow` cry.

5th Seed ends in 6-6 tie between Wise Guys and Dutch Rudders.

3rd Seed goes to All Blacks for 5-4 win over Green Hornets

Nordiques win Championship 1-0. End to end rush by Nicholas Labrosse was the highlight of the night for the winning goal!

7th Seed Game. Roid Rage vs Onliners......What would be in store for this one after that Roid Rage comeback that just fell short last night. This time the Onliners in workman like fashion held a 4-3 lead with a few minutes remaining. But the Roid Rage staged a full comeback and took a wild one 5-4! Great game with end to end action that featured great goaltending. Game of the night.

Repeat Affairs for all Final Play-off Seeding Games!

In a quirk never seen before in the OBBHA....all teams that met in the last game of the round robin of play-offs last night will meet yet again for the final seeding games tonight.

Seed 9: Tanglehood Crows vs Epic Fail....Epic Fail win! Epic Fail win! The Epic Fail outshot and outplayed the Crows in front of a boisterous 'French Palace' crowd. War-paint was worn and noise greated every play throughout this entertaining game. 12-9 was the final with more entertainment to come tonight!

Seed 7: Roid Rage vs Onliners....Onliners were up 11-5 late in the game. Then as the crowd grew as players and fans filed into the 'French Palace' for the next game, the boys in purple made a stunning run to the final whistle. 11-10 was the final and the Onliners were thankfull another minute was not left in the game! Who has the confidence for tonights showdown?

Seed 5: Dutch Rudders vs Wise Guys....12-4 pasting for the Wise Guys. Karine will not be available for the Wise Guys tonight so expect a closer game tonight!

Seed 3: Green Hornets vs All Blacks....the All Blacks were the favourites all season to make the final, but are now in a battle for 3rd. The Green Hornets need to find some more scoring. Most are calling for a Green upset in this one tonight.

Championship Game: Barrel O'Monkeys vs Les Nordiques Samurais...last night 9-6 Nords.

NOTE THAT ALL GAMES ON MONDAY, JUNE 21st

June 16 Highlights from Game 2 of Round Robin Play-offs:

Epic Fail fans were getting some reaction from their Mardi-Gras beads...even a flash (Family rated one of course). The Onliners enjoyed the atmosphere and played well as they welcomed back some injured players. Randy Bennett scored often in an 11-5 victory.

Barrel O' Monkeys are for real. They handed the All Blacks their first loss of the season to ensure the Monkeys will be in the finals next Wednesday. 4-3 was the final in very good goaltending battle. Another OBBHA classic!

Nords 10-4 over the Green Hornets. This one was closer than the score would indicate. Good pace to it.

Tanglehood Crows lost 10-5 and had fun...they wondered if the Dutch Rudders were having as much fun winning as some of them thought they were 'Game Managers' too.

Roid Rage kept coming back to make this one interesting......Wise Guys prevail 12-9 in the night-cap.

Round Robin Play-offs began last night (Monday, June 14th)

In the top 4 bracket:

-Nordiques score in last minute to tie 7-7.....a great game, but some of the players forgot to enjoy the game.

-Barrel O'Monkeys played a full-court press and the Green Hornets had no answer...Monkeys win 9-2.

Bottom 6 bracket:

-Roid Rage with a short bench prevail over the Tanglehood Crows 16-11.

-Dutch Rudders use their speed in 12-5 win over the Onliners.

-Game of the Night....Wise Guys and Epic Fail met yet again after their thrilling 10-10 tie last week. This time the Epic Fail fans were out in full force with painted faces. Even some of their heroes put on the war paint. Sadly the fans could only cheer for 2 goals, but this did not stop them from cheering all the good plays on both sides. 9-2 Wise Guys in a thoroughly enjoyable game. Nords and All Blacks should take notes about how to have fun!

Last nights games were very exciting!

EPIC FAILURE DID NOT TAKE PLACE!!!! Epic Fail took their very first lead of the season 1-0. Then 2-0. Then 3-0. They had a 4-1 lead after one period! The Wise Guys playing their third game in 3 nights mounted a monumental effort and comeback! They tied it at 5-5 and 6-6. Epic Fail took an 8-6 lead. Wise Guys tie it at 8-8. 9-8 Epic Fail. Wise Guys tie it 9-9 with one minute left. Epic Fail 10-9 with 45 seconds left. Wise Guy tie it up with 15 seconds left in the game 10-10.The only question was...where were the Epic Fail fans for this one?!

Dutch Rudders had Brad in the nets once again. After being pounded for 20 goals the night before he halved in tonight at 10 goals against. His team scored 16 for him as this one was played 3 on 3 in the Blue Gym. The Tanglehood Crows did not adapt well to the 3 on 3 format for some reason.

All Blacks squeak out a win over the Barrel O' Monkeys 9-8. Great goaltening by the Monkey goalie kept it close.

Nords sneak out 9-7 win over the Onliners who played their best game of the session so far. This one was in doubt until the final whistle. Well played boys!

Green Hornets were tired for this their third game in three nights. But they outlasted a game Roid Rage 9-6.

Top 4 Seeds play one another in Round Robin followed by a re-seed and 1vs2 and 3vs4
for final placements.
Seeds 5,7,9 and 6,8,10 are placed in 2 pools and play 3 cross-over games. Followed by a
re-seed and 5vs6 and 7vs8 and 9vs10

Tuesday, June 8

In the Blue gym the All Blacks took a commanding 9-3 lead over the Green Hornets into the third period. But the Green squad kept working hard and closed the gap despite all the bad luck their defenceman JP was experiencing. They ended up losing 13-9 to the All Blacks, but did give them something to think about. The All Blacks looked quick and passed well in this one.

The Winter Schedule is Now Posted for the Monday Leagues. Check it out!
