Monday/Polk Check Division

Monday Night Polk Checkers!

Another great season is underway, as mentionned by John tonight, this season we have a couple of new initiatives to stimulate some positive vibes with the OBBHA.
A. Stats  ....Make sure to lobby your team captain or perhaps take the initiative to help him out in this task.
B. OBBHA Weekly Hockey Pool

Hockey experts, we got something for you!
In an attempt to create a buzz and raise funds to enable underpriviliged kids to play ball hockey, we came up with the following idea.
Why not create a weekly hockey pool, using the same concept as Pro Picks (Proline) where you have a chance to win every week!!
Every week, you have the chance to win a 50$ giftcard from Canadian Tire

Week 1 / Saturday January 13th Selection Form - Deadline 12:55 EST

Bigger, Better and Stronger in 2018, thanks to you guys and your efforts!

For the first game of the Winter Session on Monday, January 8th, rumours were abound that two more teams were in the Wings trying to build and join the division! However the other teams started the first games in earnest!!

Tsunamis vs Polk's Heroes...the Heroes revamped line-up took only a few shifts to show some impressive chemistry! 2-2 after one period and then the Heroes won the 2nd period 2-0 as well as the 3rd for a big first win! Polk's Heroes win 6-2.

Wild Dawgs vs Dekes of Hazzard... this was probably the best game the Dekes have played on any given Monday nighter. after a scoreless first period where the goalies mad it clear that this would be their night, the Dekes won the 2nd period 3-2. The well played game continued to be a tight affair, but the Dekes were able to play great ball control to protect their lead for the win. Dekes of Hazzared win 5-3.

Polk Check Monday December 18 Finals and Seeding Matches Highlights!

7pm = Stars vs Polk’s Heroes (3rd seed match)...Polks Heroes loes in a great battle. After a 5-5 scoreafter regulation, this one needed to go to a shoot out. 7 rounds into it and Marc Lewis scores to end it. Stars win 6-5.

8pm = Dekes of Hazzard vs Buzz Kills (Final)...A great display of sportsmanship by both teams. Buzz Kill take this one 12-0 as they really are the definition of the 4 F's. Big shout out to the Dekes on behalf of Jason and Mike (Your Game Managers for this one) as they kept their cool as their opponents buzzed around all game. Their goalie played  extremely well despite the outcome.  We even tried to twist the calls letting a few high wind ups go to break the shut out for Ryan...Not a chance, once again 12-0 Buzz Kills.

9pm = Wild Dawgs vs Tsunamis (5th seed match)...What a fantastic display of camaraderie for the night cap. All smiles at the end of this one. Wild Dawgs take it 7-4.

Polk Check Monday December 11 Revolver Game # 2 of 3 Highlights!

Stars vs Wild Dawgs (6vs5)...winner plays for 3rd Seed next week while the other will play in the 5th Seed game. The Stars were on a recruiting binge and had many more Stars then usual. The Dawgs dominated on the shot clock but the #1 star was the Stars goalie Shawn Pilon who was working on a potential 2nd shut-out in a row as he earned one last night with the Falcons in a semi-final game. His bid for glory ended on a penalty shot goal but that was the only goal he gave up as the Stars won their first game of the session! Congrats to the vets on the team. Stars win 4-1.

Dekes of Hazzard vs Tsunamis (4vs3)...semi-final. loser will play for the 5th Seed. So a Finals bid was on the line. The Wave were down 3-1 and 5-4 at the breaks but tied it all up 5-5 in the 3rd. But with 10-minutes left the Dekes scored 4 goals in a 2-minute span and then held on for a big perhaps surprising result. Dekes of Hazzard win 10-6.

Polk's Heroes vs Buzz Kills (2vs1)...semi-final. Winner in Finals, loser in the 3rd Seed match. The Heroes were the only team to put a blemish on the Buzz Kills attempt for the never been done perfect season. So there was a certain interest in the French Palace for how the opening minutes would play out. The unfortunate thing was the Heroes were short benched...they did play a great first period but burned out after as the Buzz Kills bench strength simply took over for a Finals spot. Side-bar story had a Perfect Blend mix to it from the Saturday league as Olivier Raymond scored 4-goals for the Heroes against his old goalie Ryan Girgrah in the Buzz net. Buzz Kills win 10-6.

Polk Check Monday December 4 Revolver Game #1 of 3 Highlights!

Tsunamis vs Buzz Kills (2vs1)...Buzz Kills and the Wave were assured spots in next weeks semi-finals. So a friendly. Buzz Kills send the message anyways. Buzz kills win 12-2.

Polk's Heroes vs Wild Dawgs (4vs3)...what a match! The teams traded a goal each in the first period and the 2nd to leave it at 2-2 going into the 3rd. No goals in the final period set the stage for the 5-player shoot-out! In the 4th round Olivier Raymond scored the only goal and the Polk's Heroes move into the semi-finals next week while the Dawgs will play the seeding games. Polk's Heroes win in a shoot-out 3-2.

Stars vs Dekes of Hazzard (6vs5)...anticipation was high for this one and the other semi-final birth was at stake. What if the Stars one their first game and go into the semis?! Well they were up 4-3 after one period! in the 2nd the Dekes roared to an 8-5 lead. in the 3rd the short Stars bench caught up to them. Dekes get into the semi-finals, while the Stars search for that elusive first win in the seeding matches. Dekes of Hazzard win 11-6.

3-game Play-off Revolver Dec 4th. 2vs1, 4vs3, move up and losers move down each week.

Polk Check Monday November 27 Highlights!

Tsunamis vs Wild Dawgs...battle for 2nd place. 1-1 after the first and the Wave were up 2-1 after two periods. Dave in the wave net was the key star of the game. He stole goal after goal from the Dawgs who had many quality chances in their first game of a double header.. Tsunamis win 5-2.

Stars vs Wild Dawgs...the Stars were limited in numbers for their first game of their double header, but had the chemistry and scoring touch up 4-3 after the first break. The Dawgs were still game and had the effort level going in full gear for the 2nd period and took a commanding 10-6 lead. The Dawgs closed it out in fine fashion in the 3rd. Wild Dawgs win 15-8.

Stars vs Polk's Heroes...the Heroes needed a win to secure 4th place. Stars were into it in the 1st period with the score 2-1 Heroes. The Stars had an excellent 2nd period tying things up 4-4 and looking for their first win!! A very spirited 3rd as expected from two desperate teams. With the Stars up 6-5 and hanging on the Heroes tied it up with 6-seconds left! 6-6 tie

Buzz Kills vs Dekes of Hazzard...the Dekes put a good show only down 7-4 mid-way through the 3rd with Shawn Pilon in their net putting on a show. But Buzz Kills pulled away as fatigue set in on the Dekes. Buzz Kills win 12-4.

Polk Check Monday November 20 Highlights!

Polk's Heroes vs Dekes of Hazzard...a very competitive game as the Heroes were up 5-3 and 6-4 at the breaks. The Dekes had their chances but Terry Cleroux made several key saves at the right moments to stymie them. The Heroes pulled away in the 3rd. Polk's Heroes win 9-5.

Buzz Kills vs Polk's Heroes...Polk-less but a full bench for the bottom end of the double header for the Heroes. But all Buzz Kills. Buzz Kills win 16-2.

Buzz Kills vs Wild Dawgs...Buzz in game 2 of their double set. The Dawgs were up 2-1 after one, but the Buzz was killed in the 2nd as Buzz Kills went up 7-3. Buzz Kills win 11-5.

Stars vs Tsunamis...Stars had a slow start down 4-1 after the first break. That was the difference as the Stars played the Wave even after that Tsunamis win 11-5.

Polk Check Monday November 13 Highlights!

Stars vs Dekes of Hazzard...missing many Stars. The Dekes moved the ball the best they have all year. Dekes of Hazzard win 9-1.

Tsunamis vs Dekes of Hazzard...Dekes in game 2 of their double header were tired. Tsunamis were fresh and pumped for their two games. Tsunamis win 11-3.

Buzz Kills vs Tsunamis...the Wave in the bottom half of their double header were impressive against the top team. The Wave were up 4-2 after one period but the Buzz kills took the 2nd for a 7-4 lead. The 3rd was tight. Buzz Kills win 10-6.

Polk's Heroes vs Wild Dawgs...the night-cap featured two fresh teams with the bodies to make it a good run on both sides. 3-1 Heroes at the first break. The Heroes won the 2nd 3-2 for a 6-3 lead after two. So the Heroes played for the win in the final period with confidence with that 3-goal cushion. Polk's Heroes win 8-4.

Polk Check Monday October 30 Highlights!

Polk's Heroes vs Tsunamis...missing their hero the Heroes met Tsunamis who brought a friend from work in who helped make it a Wave of Heroes. The Wave took a 4-1 first period lead and that is how the 2nd ended too! No goals in the 2nd. The 3rd was a closely played game as the teams traded 3 goals each. Tsunamis win 7-4.

Stars vs Buzz Kills....the Stars faced the Buzz Kills last week and lost 14-7 but had played very well. They followed it up with another very good effort only down 5-3 and 9-6 at the breaks. The Buzz Kills pulled away like last week in the 3rd as the pace was quick and talented. Same score as last week again!. Buzz Kills win 14-7.

Dekes of Hazzard vs Wild Dawgs...the Dekes deserved a better fate. Marty in the Dawgs net was simply a factor as he made key save after key save to keep the Dekes from gaining any momentum. 2-2 first held some promise and even down 6-3 they felt they could pop in some quick ones to make it close. But 3rd period saw some tough goals go in and the Dawgs were on their way. Wild Dawgs win 10-3.

Polk Check Monday October 23 Highlights!

Wild Dawgs  vs Stars...the Stars were eager to get a win and get their game in gear for the 2nd game of their double header vs the top ranked Buzz Kills. They looked primed and ready with 3-1 and 6-3 period break leads. But they must have been thinking of the next game as they forgot to close it out in the 3rd period let alone cover the open man as the Wild Dawgs scored 4 unanswered goals including two very late in the game for the exhilerating comeback win. Wild Dawgs win 7-6.

Buzz Kills vs Stars...the Stars gave Buzz Kills a game. The were tied 2-2 after one period and were covering the Buzz Kills cycling game well. Buzz kills did exploit some mistakes for a 10-5 2nd period lead, but make no mistake the Stars made them work for everything they got. Even in the 3rd and in their back end of their double header the Stars gave it their all and made a very good game of it. Buzz Kills win 14-7.

Polk's Heroes vs Buzz Kills...a factor for this one was the fact that the Stars did tax the Buzz Kills lungs in the first game. And although Buzz Kills have had their way in the division so far this session, this is the Polk Check Div and Polk came to play! 2-2 after the first break as was the case in the previous game, but Polk's Heroes continued to press on offence and the Buzz Kills were visibly tiring. The Heroes enjoyed a lead after two period of 5-4 but it was game on for the 3rd! With about 5-minutes left and the Heroes up 7-6 Buzz Kills tied it. The last 5-minutes were compelling as the French Palace crowd grew and grew as players and fans for the next game gathered to witness some fine play. No goals but lots of ooh's and ahh's as both teams came close to getting a winner. 7-7 tie.

Dekes of Hazzard vs Tsunamis...for the night-cap the expectation was for a tight game. And it occurred. Goals were hard to get for two periods as the Dekes were up 1-0 and 3-1 at the breaks. The Dekes were up 5-3 late but Tsunamis made it 5-4 and tied it up with just under 2-minutes remaining. Some close calls but another tie! 5-5 tie.

Polk Check Monday October 16 Highlights!

Wild Dawgs vs Buzz Kills...the Dawgs had a strategy in place to stay close to the top ranked Buzz Kill and it served them well in the first period only down 3-2. But a few players completely lost focus of this sound strategy and Buzz kills completely destroyed the Dawgs lost coverage in the second period 9-0. The 3rd the Dawgs tried to get back to their strategic implementation and only lost the period 3-0. Buzz kills win 15-2.

Dekes of Hazzard vs Polk's Heroes...The Heroes first game of their double-header was a hard working match. Both teams went all out. The Dekes held 3-1 and 6-3 period break leads. In the 3rd the Heroes came on strong but the Dekes held onto their lead as Dan in their net was a strong factor in defending that lead. Dekes of Hazzard win 7-5.

Tsunamis vs Polk's Heroes...the Heroes came out strong as they were already in game mode. Tsunamis knew this and started strong as well so the first was close at 2-1 Polk's Heroes. In the 2nd it was more of the same as the teams traded a pair of goals each to leave the Heroes up 4-3. The stage was set with 2-minutes remaining and Polk's Heroes up 6-4. The Wave made it 6-5 and the tied it up 6-6 with 50-seconds left without even pulling the goalie. Tsunamis continued the wave after wave of pressure and the exhausted Heroes gave up the winning goal with 4-seconds left in the game. Tsunamis win 7-6.

Tsunamis vs Stars...could the Wave keep up the work ethic in the back end of their double header? The Stars tried burning them out early but the first ended 2-2. The Wave were up this time 4-3 heading into the final period. Both teams were giving everything they had. The Stars tied it up early in the 3rd 4-4. Then with 4:30 left the Wave scored and added another with 50-seconds left to sweep their double header! Tsunamis win 6-4.

Polk Check Monday October 2 Highlights!

Wild Dawgs vs Polk's Heroes...the Heroes were without a Polk. 2-0 Wild Dawgs after one period. The extended it to 7-1 after two and let dogs out in the 3rd for the run. Wild Dawgs win 9-3.

Wild Dawgs vs Dekes of Hazzard...the Dawgs with tongues hanging out came out with determination for their 2nd game of their double-header. A 3-0 lead gave them confidence and they seemed to have more energy than the fresher Dekes. They worked hard for a 5-1 lead after two and pulled away in the 3rd for a sweep of their double header. Wild Dawgs win 8-1.

Dekes of Hazzard vs Stars...the Dekes new they had to sustain a effort in their back-end of their own double-header. The Stars came at the equally for a 3-3 stalemate at the first breather. The Dekes were up 6-4 at the 2nd break and never relinquished the lead to gain a split in the double header. Dekes of Hazzard win 8-5.

Tsunamis vs Buzz Kills...two fresh teams for the night-cap. Tsunamis put up a good resistance only down 2-0 after one period. Buzz Kills found their range yet again in the 2nd for a 6-2 lead and cruised from there. Buzz Kills win 12-2.

After a wildly hot opening weekend in the OBBHA the heat continued to be a factor.

Polk's Heroes vs Stars....the Stars are new team of Stars and the Heroes are still Polk's Heroes. A few Stars were missing and the Heroes used their ball control to wear them down. Polk's Heroes win 9-2.

Dekes of Hazzard vs Buzz Kills....Buzz Kills is still the team to beat until proven otherwise. From the opening whistle the BK were playing in top form for a 5-0 lead. The cruized from there. Buzz Kills win 9-0.

Wild Dawgs vs Tsunamis...a classic rematch. The Dawgs went wild for 4-0 and 5-2 period break leads. Then Tsunamis came on in waves to quell the heat fro the Dawgs and had the panting at 5-4. Tsunamis hit a post with a few minutes left and then another post in the final minute. It was wild that they did not tie it up. Wild Dawgs win 5-4.

Thanks for an excellent Winter Session everyone! See you all back in the Fall...tons of exciting stuff will be announced over the summer! Get ready!

Polk Check Monday April 24 Highlights Final Revolver Games!

Vipers vs Buzz Kills (Finals)...Buzz Kills has been to so many Finals and lost in a shoot-out it is an OBBHA that will never be broken, unless they add to it!? They came out strong and were up 2-1 at the first period break over the Vipers who some considered the favourites. The Vipers were ready and played well and the took over the second period for a 5-3 lead heading into the final period to take it home. But the Buzz Kills scored 2 early goals in that final period to tie it all up 5-5. Then both teams traded quality scoring chances and matched each other on the defensive side of things as well. So the dreaded shoot-out ensued! The Buzz Kills this time prevailed as they went 2 for 4 while the Vipers could not get one past Ryan Girgrah. Buzz Kills are the Winter Session Champions with a 6-5 shoot-out win! Congratulations!

Polk’s Heroes vs Wild Dawgs (3rd Seed)...a wild one! The Dawgs were up 3-2 and 6-5 at the breaks but the Heroes had the heroes in the final period by winning the period 4-1 to take the 3rd seed. Polk's Heroes win 9-7.

Silky Ball Handlers vs Dekes of Hazzard (5th Seed)...the Silky ones had some friends from a champion team help them out for this one. So the Dekes were in tough for this one but they played hard and were unlucky not to score more as the Silky goalie Markus Esnard was on fire including a glove grab that had the French Palace crowd in awe and then cheering. The Silky Ball Handlers win 9-6 and win the 5th Seed.

Polk Check Monday April 10 Highlights Revolver Game #2!

Silky Ball Handlers vs Wild Dawgs (6vs5)...the Silky ones moved a goalie out and a player in. It went well actually! The Dawgs have snipers however and they built 6-3 and 9-6 period leads. The Dawgs closed out with a strong 3rd and will play in the 3rd seed match in two weeks while the Silky Ball Handlers will play in the 5th Seed Match. Wild Dawgs win 12-7.

Polk's Heroes vs Vipers (semi-final)...if only the Heroes played like they did the 3rd period the whole game. The Vipers completely vaped the Heroes for the first two periods winning each 3-0 for a 6-0 lead. The Heroes came to life in the 3rd but fell short. The Heroes will play for the 3rd Seed while the Vipers are off to their first ever Finals. Vipers win 7-4.

Dekes of Hazzard vs Buzz Kills (semi-final)...Buzz Kills wanted to be in the Finals so they went to work from the start and closed it out in fine fashion. Buzz Kills win 11-5.

Polk Check Monday April 3 Highlights Revolver Game #1!

Buzz Kills vs Vipers (2vs1) of the night!  Both teams were ensured a semi-final spot for next game, but they played this one like it really meant something. Just about the most even game two teams could ever play. 2-2 and 3-3 at the period breaks. Buzz Kills goalie Ryan Girgrah and Vipers netminder Aneel Nauth were in quite a duel. Both teams were unyielding when it came to defence. Every goal was very hard fought for. Finally at 5-5 the game went to a shootout. In the bottom of the 5th the final shooter scored for the Buzz Kills. Buzz Kills win 6-5 in a shoot-out.

Polk's Heroes vs Wild Dawgs (4vs3)...the Heroes were favoured but the Dawgs gave it a whale of a go. 3-2 and 8-5 after the first two periods. The final period was played at a frantic pace and the teams traded a pair of goals each. Polk's Heroes win a berth in the semi-finals with a 10-6 win.

Silky Ball Handlers vs Dekes of Hazzard (6v5)...the Silky Ball Handlers were at their best on this night. They were up for both period breaks at 4-3 and 5-4. They were even up 7-6 late in the game. But the Dekes came up with the huge surge and the comeback by scoring 3 late goals and then in the final 2-minutes Shawn Pilon had to make several big saves to stop the Silky one from making it too close for comfort. Dekes of Hazzard win 9-7 and move to the semi-finals.

The 3-game Revolver Play-off! *Starts above*

(2vs1, 4vs3, 6vs5....then winner of 6vs5 plays winner of 2vs1 for one semi-final, winner of 4v3 plays loser of 2vs1 for the other semi-final, while loser of 4vs3 plays loser of 6vs5 for consolation match. Finals and 3rd and 5th Seed games close it out.

Polk Check Monday March 27 Highlights!

Polk's Heroes vs Dekes of Hazard...all Polk's Heroes in this one as the Dekes could not get the offence into it at all. Polk's Heroes win 11-2.

Silky Ball Handlers vs Vipers...Vipers owned this one although the Silky Ball Handlers did have their moments but ran into a very steady Aneel Nauth in the Vipers net. Vipers win 11-1

Wild Dawgs vs Buzz of the night. Buzz Kills jumped to a 4-1 first period lead and it looked like 3rd blow-out was coming, but the Dawgs closed it to 5-4 after the second and tied it up 5-5 early in the 3rd. The Buzz Kills then roared to a 9-5 lead. Wild Dawgs never gave up and scored to late goals and pressed hard for more in the final minute, but came up short. Buzz Kills win 9-7.

Polk Check Monday March 20 Highlights!

Vipers vs Wild Dawgs...after the break this was the first game action the French Palace had seen and the action was quick paced for a group that had been resting well. The Vipers were faster out of the gate and held a 4-0 first period lead. But in the second they were outscored 4-2 by the Dawgs to close the lead to 6-4. However the Vipers owned the 3rd 4-1. Vipers win 10-5.

Buzz Kills vs Dekes of Hazzard...the best game yet from the Dekes. The Buzz Kills were up 3-2 and 6-5 at the period breaks and had to hold off the Dekes attack right to the very end with the goalie pulled for the extra attacker. Buzz Kills holds on for the 9-7 win.

Silky Ball Handlers vs Polk's Heroes...the game of the night! The Silky boys were up 2-0 and 3-2 at the breaks. It had appeared the Heroes were going to as they took a commanding 6-4 lead, but late in the 3rd the Silky Ball Handlers tied up the game and in the final minute were pushing for the win. But the pushed too far and gave up a break-away and the Heroes scored with 2-seconds remaining in the game to break the Silky ones hearts. Polk's Heroes win 7-6.

Reminder no games Monday, March resumes Monday, March 20

Polk Check Monday March 6 Highlights!

Vipers vs Polk's Heroes...the featured game of the night as it had some buzz before the game about it. The Heroes were Polkless as Trevor was under the weather from a Viper bit of some the boys manned up were tied 3-3 after two periods. However the Vipers had a little more poison in their offence outscored Polk's Heroes 4-1 in the 3rd. Vipers win 7-4.

Buzz Kills vs Silky Ball Handlers....the friendship game! Mostly. The Silky ones played much better than the first meeting between these two clubs and were down only 6-4 late in the game and hit some posts along the way too!. But Buzz killed the mood with 4 late goals for the win. Buzz Kills win 10-4.

Dekes of Hazzard vs Wild Dawgs....could the Dawgs continue their torrid pace and play another strong game? Could the Dekes put together a full game effort? A wild first period as the Wild Dawgs were up 5-2 but the Dekes deked back into it at 5-5. At the mid-way point of the 2nd the game was still tied up, but then the Dawg bit for 4 straight goals for a 9-5 lead and that was the difference. Wild Dawgs win 12-7.

Polk Check Monday February 27 Highlights!

Silky Ball Handlers vs Dekes of Hazzard...the Silky Ball Handlers were due for their first ever franchise win and they did it! The Dekes knew they were in for a game and did their own best to prepare for it. They were up 2-1 after one period but were down 6-5 after two. In the 3rd the Silky Ball Handlers could taste victory and worked their tales off for it. They were rewarded! Silky Ball Handlers win 9-8.

Polk's Heroes vs Wild Dawgs...a wild one! Polk was on fire scoring a ton of goals and had his team up 5-4 after one but down 10-8 after two periods. The 3rd was much tighter so the goals were fewer. At 11-10 for the Wild Dawgs the Polk's Heroes (Polk himself the unsung hero) tie it up 11-11 with 2-minutes left. The Wild Dawgs score the winner with 45-seconds left as they held of a furious attempt to tie it all up from the Heroes. Wild Dawgs win 12-11.

Vipers vs Buzz Kills...Buzz Kills need one for two more buzzers on the bench. The Vipers held the play for the most part with their full bench for 5-2 and 6-2 period break leads. In the 3rd the teams played a 3-3 tie. Great game but the Buzz boys needed that extra lung or two. Vipers win 9-5

Polk Check Monday February 13 Highlights!

Silky Ball Handers vs Wild about a 0-0 draw after one period! The Wild Dawgs then won the second 4-0 and the 3rd 4-1. But the Silky boys were full engaged in this game. Wild Dawgs win 8-1.

Polk's Heroes vs Buzz Kills...this was a game that was highly anticipated but let the French Palace crowd down big time. A couple of late scratches for the Heroes left them with a short bench vs the full benched and stoked Buzz Kill team. Add on to the glaring fact that our Heroes did not pass the ball made for a struggling game for them. Buzz Kills simply showed them how to play ball hockey from start to finish. Buzz Kills hands out the lunch for the win 9-3.

Dekes of Hazzard vs Vipers...the pleasent surprise of the night!  The Dekes knew this game was a tough one from their perspective as the Vipers have shown they are a favourite this session. 0-0 after one gave the Dekes a ton of confidence behind their hot goalie on this night. The first goal of the game came at the halfway point of the game as the Vipers popped that one in and held a 3-1 lead moving to the final period. The Dekes worked so hard and finally tied up the game 3-3 with 6-minute remaining in the game. The Vipers then promptly scored two quick ones for the win, although the Dekes threatened right to the end. Vipers win 5-3.

Polk Check Monday February 6 Highlights!

Dekes of Hazzard vs Polk's Heroes...our Heroes were on for this one and thy had to be as the Dekes came out with one of their stronger outings too. The Heroes won the the first period 2-0, tied the second 2-2 and again won the 3rd 2-1. A very well played game that could have gone either way. Terry Cleroux was outstanding and made many key saves throughout the tilt. Polk's Heroes win 6-3.

Vipers vs Silky Ball Handlers...the Silk is not yet quite that smooth but everyone can see the improvement from game to game. The Vipers offered up their version of passing and ball control to which the Silk Boys adapted to at times. The Vipers still have the game in them and they used it for enough offence to take it. Vipers win 11-6

Buzz Kills vs Wild Dawgs...the Dawgs had the French Palace crowd on the edge of their seat for 2 and a half periods. A 2-2 first period and then the Dawgs were up 6-5 heading into the final period. Buzz Kills finally broke through for a big period winning it 7-0. But it was not easy as the those goals came late in the game once the Dawgs let go of the big impressive effort. Buzz Kills prevail 12-6.

Polk Check Monday January 30 Highlights!

Wild Dawgs vs Vipers...the Vipers were expected to win big based on their early session play. But the Dawgs have been the pleasant surprise team of Monday nights so far. 1-1 after one period gave the Dawgs some confidence and the Vipers struggled to take a 3-2 after two period. In the 3rd the Vipers scored the only 2 goals of the period. Vipers win 5-2.

Dekes of Hazzard vs Buzz Kills...another game predicted to have a big winner and that would be the Buzz Kills. But the Dekes played an inspired game and were only down 4-1 after two periods. They closed to 4-2 and had the Buzz killed for a bit. However the Buzz got the kill back and went on to the win with a few extra goals. The Buzz Kills saw quite a few bad bounces go off some flesh so shin-guards and face masks were heavily suggested after a wild night of bizarre plays. Buzz Kills win 7-3.

Polk's Heroes vs Silky Ball Handlers....check this out. The Silky Ball Handlers were up 5-4 after two periods and looking for their first ever franchise win. However the Heroes were plenty in the 3rd as the Polk's team scored 4 unanswered goals for the comeback win. Polk's Heroes win 8-5.

Polk Check Monday January 23 Highlights!

Silky Ball Handlers vs Buzz Kills...the two team are strong with mutual friends. However Buzz Kills decided there are no friends in the Polk Check Division and took no prisoners as well. Buzz Killed em! There is some silk, but it needed some defence. Buzz Kills win 14-1.

Wild Dawgs vs Dekes of Hazzard...the Dawg were short benched and it looked bleak before the first whistle. But the Dekes were flatter than a short bench and could do nothing right as the Dawgs shocked the French Palace crowd with a scorched earth performance. Wild Dawgs win 14-4.

Polk's Heroes vs Vipers...this one was thought to be a closely played match. But the Vipers were on and the Heroes were not. Vipers take it 10-1.

Polk Check Monday January 16 Highlights!

Silky Ball Handlers vs Dekes of Hazzard...the Ball Handlers can score. And they held a 3-2 first period lead and were only down 7-5 after two periods. However the defensive coverage once again left Marcus at the mercy of the Dekes sharp shooters and they captialized enough in the 3rd to put it away. Same score as last week for the Silky crew. Dekes of Hazzard win 11-7.

Polk's Heroes vs Wild Dawgs...the Wild Dawgs came out strong and ready to play and were rewarded with a 2-0 first period lead. But Polk's Heroes stormed back in the 2nd with 5 unanswered goals to take a 5-2 lead. Then the Dawgs staged the comeback and finally tied it all up at 5-5 with 2-minutes remaining. But Polk's team had hero who scored on a lucky play with 42-seconds left in the game to break the Dawgs hearts. Polk's Heroes win 6-5.

Buzz Kills vs Vipers...another wild comeback that ties it, but the outcome still goes the other way. The Vipers were impressive for 2-periods and were up 7-2 after 2 strong periods. But the Buzz Kills came all the way back in the 3rd to tie it all up at 7-7 with 2-minutes left on the clock. But the Vipers scored two quick ones within 40-seconds of that to salvage the win. Vipers win 9-7

2017 Winter Session Opening Night January 9th:

Vipers vs Dekes of Hazzard...0-0 after one period of very well played ball hockey. In the 2nd the Vipers capitalized on their chances for a 4-0 lead. In the 3rd the Holiday excesses seemed to catch up with the Dekes. Vipers win 9-1.

Buzz Kills vs Polk's Heroes...quite a few Heroes were missing in action for this opening tilt. So Buzz Kills made them pay early on for 4-2 and 7-4 period break leads. Polk himself mustered up enough energy to keep this one close only down 7-5 but it was not enough. More bench strength was necessary to have a hero. Buzz Kills win 8-5.

Wild Dawgs vs Silky Ball Handlers...the new team have a great group of guys and a silky ball handler or two as well. Their first game was a tough run vs the veteran Wild Dawgs and they did alright. The Dawgs were up 4-1 and 6-3 at the breaks. The 3rd was evenly played and the Dawgs won the period only 5-4 as the Silk turned to raw effort to make it interesting. Wild Dawgs win 11-7.

Polk Check Monday December 12 Highlights! (Final Night of Fall Session 2016)

**Note for the first time in OBBHA history someone at the age of 60 played!....Bill Carkner Senior played with his son Bill Carkner Junior for the Wild Dawgs tonight. You usually see Bill Senior with the Tuesday Wise Guys (team name change in the Winter Session to "Megalomaniacs")

B-Div Play-off Pool Double Round Robin Game #6:

Tsunamis vs Dekes of Hazzard....for the 3rd Seed in the Deke of Hazzard were not up to their usual spunky self having went 10-rounds in a shoot-out to win last nights Sunday B-Div Championship. Tonight the Wave took advantage of this for a win. Tsunamis win 9-5.

Wild Dawgs vs Polk's Heroes...The Heroes were already B-Div Heroes as they had wrapped up the Championship last week with their win over the Wave. Tonight everyone was a winner as the Wild Dawgs beat the champs! Wild Dawgs win 7-4 but Heroes take the cake!

A-Div Play-off Pool Double Round Robin Game #6:

Ottawa Cannons vs Vipers....Vipers take the 3rd Seed with 5-0 win.

Stars vs Buzz Kills...the Stars kept their perfect record intact to put an exclamation point on their Championship! They were up 6-3 after two periods then the Buzz killed the buzz by scoring two to close to within 6-5. But the Champs showed their will and they pulled away with 3 big goals. Stars win 9-5.

Polk Check Monday December 5 Highlights! -one more game next week Dec 12th.

B-Div Play-off Pool Double Round Robin Game #5:

Tsunamis vs Polk's Heroes...congrats to the B-Div champions! Polk's Heroes ended the drama one week early with a big win over Tsunamis to mathematically take the B-Div crown. The two wins over Tsunamis gives the Heroes all the time breakers needed to win it all and take their title into the Winter to defend it. Polk's Heroes win 12-7 and are the B-Div Champs.

Wild Dawgs v Dekes of Hazzard...the Dawgs are steadily are improving and they surprised the Dekes with a sold effort to push themselves up in the standings. Wild Dawgs were tied 2-2 after one and then held a 5-3 lead as they entered the 3rd period. Wild Dawgs win 9-6.

A-Div Play-off Pool Double Round Robin Game #5:

Stars vs Vipers...and another congrats goes out to the Stars who wrapped up the A-Div with a hard earned win over the Vipers. The Stars were up 3-1 and 6-3 before surviving a big push from the Vipers in the final period. The Stars held on for the win and would like to keep the 0 in the loss column next week in a stiff test with the Buzz Kills. Stars are the A-DIv Champs with a 9-7 win.

Ottawa Cannons vs Buzz Kills...finally on the 3rd try the Cannons got a win vs the Buzz Kills. It was not easy as they were tied 1-1 and up 4-3 at the breaks. They gave up a goal when Buzz Kills were down by two with the goalie pulled, but scored right after with the goalie back in as Buzz Kills could not get control of the ball to pull their netminder a second time. Cannons win 7-5.

Polk Check Monday November 28 Highlights!

B-Div Play-off Pool Double Round Robin Game #4:

Polk's Heroes vs Dekes of Hazzard...the Dekes were just a step ahead all game as they held 3-1 and 5-2 period leads. A very big loss for Polk's Heroes that sets up a showdown next week with Tsunamis! Dekes of Hazzard throw a wrench into the Heroes run for the cup. Dekes of Hazzard win 8-4.

Tsunamis vs Wild Dawgs...these two teams thoroughly entertained the French Palace crowd grew as the game went on. The Wave were up 4-2 after one period and then could not score in the 2nd as the Wild Dawgs closed to within one-goal down 4-3 heading to the 3rd. The Wave did end up winning but it was very hard work! Tsunamis win to keep pace with Polk's Heroes tied for 1st place and the big showdown next week! Tsunamis win 6-4.

A-Div Play-off Pool Double Round Robin Game #4:

Stars vs Ottawa Cannons...the Cannons have not been able to beat the Stars despite playing them extremely well. This time it looked to be another Stars win as they took a 4-2 lead into the 3rd. But the Cannons outscored the Stars by that same score in the final period. A very exciting and well played game. 6-6 tie.

Vipers vs Buzz Kills...the shocker of the night! Vipers win! They were down 2-0 early and then Buzz Kills seemed to lose focus. Normally Buzz Kills plays a non-stop work ethic style of relentless pursuit, but it was the Vipers who stole a page out their book to score 5 in the first and another 3 in the 2nd period for 8-straight goals to take a surprising 8-2 lead heading home. The Buzz Kills did give some push back and made the score respectable. Vipers win 9-5.

Polk Check Monday November 21 Highlights!

B-Div Play-off Pool Double Round Robin Game #3:

Wild Dawgs vs Polk's Heroes...a wild game as some of the end to end sequences had the fans at the French Palace at the edge of their seats. And some of the saves were out of this world! The teams were tied 3-3 and 4-4 at the period breaks. In the final period Polk's Heroes were able to jam in the two extra goals in a 3-1 period win. Full credit to both squads for a great game. Polk's Heroes win 7-5.

Tsunamis vs Dekes of Hazzard...goaltending! On the Tsunamis side as wave after wave of shots were turned aside by the Waves goaltender. 1-0 after one for the Wave and then 3-3 going into the 3rd. Tsunamis scored the key goals on the deep dump in counter attack (after some spectacular saves on their side) that caught the Dekes defence flat-footed a couple of times. Tsunamis win 6-4.

A-Div Play-off Pool Double Round Robin Game 3:

Stars vs Buzz Kills....Buzz Kills came up with their best effort yet vs the pass happy Stars. The Stars won the first two periods by scored of 2-1 each for a 4-2 lead. In the 3rd there was only one goal scored and that was by the Star late to finally put this fine match away. Stars prevail 5-2.

Ottawa Cannons vs Vipers...2-1 Cannons lead after one and after two periods as no goals were potted in the middle frame. Finally in the 3rd the Cannons broke free and scored some hard earned goals to put this one away. Ottawa Cannons win 6-2.

Polk Check Monday November 14 Highlights!

A-Div Play-off Pool Double Round Robin Game #2:

Ottawa Cannons vs Buzz Kills...what a way to start off the night! Everyone was licking their collective chops for this one after watching theses two play last time. It appears Buzz Kills has the upper hand in this particular match-up as oncw again they took a big lead early with 4-1 and 4-2 period break leads. Their quickness and timely saves was the difference along with some discipline issues on the Cannons side. Buzz Kills win 7-3.

Stars vs Vipers...the Vipers showed they were up for this game and played very well. The Stars used their passing to their advantage once again for 3-1 and 6-2 period leads. The teams played a wild 3rd splitting 10-goals between them 5-5. Stars win 11-7.

B-Div Play-off Pool Double Round Robin Game #2:

Tsunamis vs Polk"s Heroes...1-0 Tsunamis after one and 3-1 Polk"s Heroes after 2 periods. Tsunamis won the 3rd 3-2 but came up just short in a very competitive hour, Polk"s Heroes win 6-4.

Wild Dawgs vs Dekes of Hazzard...the night-cap was the game of the night! 1-1 and 3-3 for the period breaks followed by a 3-3 3rd period. The intensity was worthy of a Final! Love this double round robin format!!! 6-6 tie.

Polk Check Monday November 7 Highlights!

A-Div Play-off Pool Double Round Robin Game 1:

Tsunamis vs Wild Dawgs...the Wave washed over the Wild Dawgs in the first period and held a 5 goal lead. After that the Wild Dawgs played even with the Tsunamis. However it was that first period that was the difference. Remember the Wild Dawgs won by one goal last week, but the Wave were play-off ready from the start tonight! 10-5 Tsunamis win.

Polk's Heroes vs Dekes of Hazzard...a wildly intense game. Both teams played their hearts out! It was any teams game at some points of the match but Polk's Heroes seemed always to be able to stay ahead. A huge push from the Dekes in the closing stages was a treat to watch, but their slow start hurt them in the end. Polk' Heroes win 9-7

A-Div Play-off Pool Double Round Robin Game #1:

Stars vs Ottawa Cannons... anticipated match? You bet ya! The Cannons shot out of their cannon and were up 3-1 and had the Stars off balance. The Stars had more ball control in the second period but the Cannons were up 5-4 heading into the 3rd. The Cannons pounced early in the 3rd and were up 6-4 and 7-5 and appeared to be heading to victory as the Stars struggled to get in close for scoring chances. However with 2-minutes remaining the Stars got a nice hands goal to close to 7-6. The Stars pulled the goalie and moved the ball around nicely...and two turn-overs gave the Cannons two empty net chances that they missed! Finally with 15-seconds left the Stars tied it! Then a Cannon turn-over gave the Stars a winning goal with only 5-seconds remaining!! Heartbreaking loss for the Cannons who deserved a better result. Stars win 8-7.

Vipers vs Buzz Kills...the Vipers played well but could not get inside the Buzz Kills defence as they had perimeter control and shots. But the Buzz Kills owned the inside and this created more scoring chances that they capitalized on. Buzz Kills win 9-2.

The Struts OBBHA Challenge Series...November 6th Inaugural Match:

All Mesh (Saturday) vs Tsunamis (Monday)...All Mesh is undefeated in the Saturday A-Div with almost half their team very solid female performers. Tsunamis is a 9-year veteran team of the OBBHA in the Monday Division (they have seen Blue Zone Gym action and in recent years the French Palace Gym). For this first Challenge Game the game was tied 1-1 after the 1st period as both teams felt each other out with some end to end action. In the 2nd period All Mesh got their vaunted passing game going and had Tsunamis chasing enough to take a 4-1 lead until a late 2nd period goal by the Wave brought the score to 4-2. In the 3rd it was that All Mesh passing game that took over for the most part despite some spirited efforts on offence from Tsunamis. Andrew Gowing in the All Mesh net made key saves to keep the Wave from making All Mesh feel too uncomfortable with their game.  Of note Melanie Dagenais was injured and her sister subbed in for her. Stephanie Dagenais of the Saturday Newbies played up front with Struts and scored the hat-trick to the squealing delight of the French Palace faithful...even a helmet was dropped on the floor to salute her 3-goals in lieu of hats! In the end these two teams enjoyed a game that featured contrasting styles and lots of great action. Passing/ball control vs hustle/determination. The All Mesh recipe prevailed 8-4.

This first game of the Struts OBBHA Challenge Series was a success and paves the way for more to come! Here are the two teams that trail-blazed this exciting initiative:

The Struts OBBHA Challenge Series...starts Sunday, November 6 at 3pm as the Monday Night Div Tsunamis take on the Saturday All Mesh squad!

-this game is the first of an exciting series that will feature teams from different OBBHA divisions playing one another for a fun time and test their skills vs one another.

-the games will always be on a Sunday at 3pm

-teams of similar skill level and like-mindedness regarding the OBBHA 4-F motto will be asked to play one another to promote what that OBBHA is all about! Fun, Fitness, Friendship and Fair-Play.

These games should be a lot of fun and very interesting for the French Palace faithful to see. Watch for the Tweets and the Game Recap for this first game and the ones to follow as every couple of months a game will be scheduled.

Polk Check Monday October 30 Highlights! Happy Halloween!

-After this night the teams move into two play-off pools: The top 4 seeds in the  A-Div Pool and the next 4 seeds (5 through 8) in the B-Div Pool

-Both pools will play a double round robin (6 games) to determine the A and B champions. (OBBHA tie-breakers will apply...Wins, Head to Head, GF-GA and then least amount of yellow/red cards).

Polk's Heroes vs Ottawa Cannons....the question was how would the Heroes fair vs a very good Cannons team. In the end very well!. A very close game was 6-6 into the final minute of play where the Cannons seemed to have scored the winner with about 50-seconds remaining but Polk's Heroes #1 hero Trevor Polk potted a top shelf goal with 2-seonds left. Wow! 7-7 tie.

Buzz Kills vs Stars...scary game of the night. This was the game everyone was interested in. It was billed as a game between perhaps the two favourites? Although the Cannons and Vipers beg to differ!! It was Game On! Buzz Kills buzzed the net in the first period but Stars goalie Stephane Portelance was on fire once again and had his Stars up 2-0 after one period. Then the Stars wore down the Buzz Kills with their fine passing game and the Buzz Kills started losing coverage and getting tired. The score was clearly not indicative of the kind of game it was, but the Stars did command much of the ball control. Stars win 10-3

Dekes of Hazzard vs Vipers....the Vipers were favoured by the pundits in this one, but some were keen to see how the Dekes would match up. It was very close for two period as the Vipers had trouble solving Big Dan in the Dekes net and were only up 3-2. They did pull away in the final period. Vipers win 7-2.

Tsunamis vs Wild Dawgs...old rivals back at it. The Dawgs made sure the kids were home safely from trick or treating for the night-cap. The Wave had to bring in some ghosts for this one. The Dawgs jumped out to a 2-1 first period lead kept a 3-2 lead going into the final period. The Wave kept it close but the Dawgs never trailed and hung on for a one goal win behind their goalie Marty's great performance. 6-5 Wild Dawgs win.

Polk Check Monday October 24 Highlights!

Ottawa Cannons vs Stars....a showdown! The Cannons came into this hungry after last weeks first loss, but this time they were without one of their best players and nicest to boot. The Stars were short a super-star as well but the played like Stars and moved the ball around impressively and had the Cannons chasing coverage more often than not. However the Cannons kept it close but could not muster up enough offence to catch up completely. Stars win 7-5.

Tsunamis vs Polk's Heroes...the Wave were in this one and were tied up 4-4 late in the game. However Polk's Heroes gutted it with 3 late goals to finally put this one away. Polk's Heroes win 7-4.

Dekes of Hazzard vs Buzz Kills....this one was close and looked to be very interesting by the half way point of the game with Buzz Kills up by two goals. But a key injury to a D on the Dekes was the turning point and Buzz Kills took full advantage of the missing link. Buzz Kills win 13-4.

Vipers vs Wild Dawgs...the Wild Dawgs finally finalized their roster and need some more time to play with one another. The Vipers are in peak form and showed it. Vipers win 10-2.

Polk Check Monday October 17 Highlights!

Vipers vs Polk's Heroes...a disappointing bench showing from Polk's Heroes disappointed everyone who showed up on both sides and the French Palace crowd on hand looking for an interesting match. Not very interesting. 13-0 Vipers easily win with a full bench.

Dekes of Hazzard vs Tsunamis...a wild one as Tsunamis played their best game of the session. It looked to be a 6-6 tie, then Dekes of Hazzard scored with 34 seconds left and looked to have taken the wind out of the Wave, but the rip tide occurred and Tsunamis tied it once again with only 6-seconds remaining in the game. 7-7 thriller.

Stars vs Wild Dawgs...the Stars were quite impressive with their passing game and held the bulk of ball possession. But the Wild Dawgs rode the goaltending of Marty and used a quick strike counter attack to keep this game a toss up affair. At one point the Stars were up 8-5 only to have the Wild Dawgs tie it up 8-8, but two very late goals by the Stars put this one away. Stars win 10-8.

Ottawa Cannons vs Buzz Kills...many had the Cannons winning this one, but the pundits in the know predicted a Buzz Kills strong showing and potential win. Buzz Kills came out strong and built a 6-1 lead by the end of second period. But in the 3rd the Ottawa Cannons roared back to make it a 6-5 deficit and even hit a post along the way. Buzz Kills had come chances to get the insurance marker but managed to fend off the comeback bid. Not an upset win, but perhaps surprised the Cannons with their tenacity. Buzz Kills win 6-5.

Reminder no games Monday, October 10 (Thanks Giving Long Weekend)....see everyone back in action Monday, October 17

Polk Check Monday October 3 Highlights!

Ottawa Cannons vs Dekes of Hazzard...a nice summer romance renewed. The Dekes knew they have an uphill road to travel vs the Cannons, but they were looking forward to the test. The Cannons came out like they were well....shot out of a cannon. They held a 5-0 lead after one period. Then the Dekes settled down and played a 1-1 second period and played well in the 3rd too, but AJ Ziegler in the Cannons made the score more lopsided than the play should indicate. 11-3 for the Cannons.

Wild Dawgs vs Buzz Kills...the Wild Dawgs are looking for new puppies to help them out while Buzz Kills were lookin for more offense after last weeks low scoring scare. Wild Dawgs are a team in transition. 17-1 Buzz Kills relentlessly win.

Stars vs Polk's intrigue at the French Palace. The Stars are creating stir with their pass happy line-up. Polk's Heroes were juiced to meet this challenge. A very good game and the Stars had the edge in play due to their creative passing. Stars win 7-4.

Tsunamis vs Vipers...the Wave played extremely well last week and were pumped to see if it transcended into a second week vs a very strong Vipers squad. Tsunamis once again played 2 great periods to keep the Vipers within their striking distance but tired in the 3rd. Vipers take it 10-1.

Polk Check Monday September 26 Highlights!

Wild Dawgs vs Dekes of Hazzard...both team played with a few less bodies than usual so that made it even. The game was played that way as well. Some breakdowns cost the Wild Dawgs one or two times too many as the Dekes were able to stay ahead throughout the match although it was tied 5-5 in the 2nd period briefly. Dekes of Hazzard win 8-6.

Stars vs Vipers....some OBBHA stars formed a very exciting passing team to compliment this fine Polk Check Div. The Vipers had their hands full and were forced to play a possession game or lose control of the game. The Stars look to build on this fine performance in the games to come. Vipers win 9-6 with an empty netter.

Ottawa Cannons vs expected Cannons win took awhile longer to put in the books. After one period it was 2-2 as the Wave were playing their hearts out vs a very good team. It was only 5-2 Cannons after two periods, but the Cannons finally wore out the Wave and beached them in the 3rd period. Ottawa Cannons win 11-4.

Buzz Kills vs Polk's Heroes...if you can keep the Buzz Kills down to 3 goals in a game you would think you would win the game. Terry Cleroux in the Heroes net was the true hero in this match as he stymied the Buzz Kills time and time again! But the Polk's Heroes could not bust through for enough chances as their counter attack was kept to the outside for the most part. Ryan Girgrah in a Carey Price like performance held the fort. Buzz Kills in a close one 3-2.

Polk Check Monday September 19 Highlights!

Tsunamis vs Franco Alumni...Tsunamis 5-0 winners.

Wild Dawgs vs Ottawa Cannons...the first period was a solid one for the Wild Dawgs. But the Cannons had too much fire power in the final two periods for them to handle. Ottawa Cannons win 15-2.

Buzz Kills vs Vipers...on heck of a game. The Vipers were in this one until the 3rd period only down 3-2. But a deeper Buzz Kills bench kept up a relentless work ethic and scored two late goals to put this fast paced game away. Did we say this was fast paced? Great end to end match. Buzz Kills win 5-2.

Polk's Heroes vs Dekes of Hazzard....Polk's Heroes were playing a perfect game and were up 3-0 by the midway point of the 2nd period. They looked to cruise to a win. But the veteran Dekes roared back with 4 late second period goals to take a lead of 4-3 into the final period. This Dekes momentum carried them to a 6-3 lead by the later stage of the 3rd period. However like last week the Polk's Heroes gave a huge push to come back and make it 6-5 and just came up short tying once again. Dekes of Hazzard win 6-5.

Polk Check Monday September 12 Opening Day Highlights!

Welcome Back everybody and great to have you new teams join this revamped and exciting new Polk Check Division!

Buzz Kills vs Tsunamis...defending champions from the Winter Session were in fine form on opening night. Tsunamis rushed out of the gates with a quick goal, but then the French Palace roof collapsed on them. Buzz Kills the Wave 17-6.

Polk's Heroes vs Wild Dawgs...the game of the night! The Wild Dawgs could do no wrong for two periods and held a 7-2 lead heading into the 3rd period. The Polk's Heroes slanted the French Palace floor and poured on the offence. It all culminated with a huge push in the final minute after closing to within 7-6. After an amazing save by Wild Dawgs goalie Marty, another beautiful play ended with a wonderful tip in goal by Connor Leask with 4-seconds left to tie it all up. The Wild Dawgs pulled the goalie for the final rush with 4-seconds left but missed the shot and the rebound. A wild 7-7 draw!

Dekes of Hazzard vs Franco Alumni...looks like Franco have found a true number one goalie! He played amazing. But once again their bench is not large enough to compete for a full game. The more seasoned Dekes have been playing year round and showed their stamina by slowly pulling away as the game wore on. 10-4 Dekes of Hazzard win the opener.

Vipers vs Ottawa Cannons... the final score is not indicative of the game at all. This game was played with great pace and skill. The Cannons had the edge in the net and in the sniping area. 9-1 Ottawa Cannons win.
