C-Div: Jr. Trops vs Dicerolls...the Juniors had some Seniors on this day and that was a big difference. Jr. Trops win 15-7.

A-Div: Orleans 93's vs Dekes of Hazzard...the 93's with a short bench yet again almost pulled this one off. After being down 6-3 they tied it up 6-6 and the Dekes needed a late winner with 44-seconds left to take this one. Dekes of Hazzard win 7-6.

C-Div: Godsons vs A Few Good Men...The Godsons built a 4-0 and that carried them through. Godsons win 9-5.

B-Div: Blue Eagles vs Caged Heat...Caged Heat played a complete game with the usual fine goaltending they always get. A big play-off win for Caged Heat! Caged Heat win 10-5.

B-Div: Blue Eagles vs Wounded Ducks...The Eagles in the bottom half of their double header were in this late only down 8-7, but they cramped up and tired from a full day of ball hockey. The Ducks flew away late to take this one. Wounded Ducks win 13-7.

April 7 Highlights:

Jr. Trops vs Blue Eagles...great match-up to start the men's night after the co-ed romp earlier in the afternoon. A wild scoring affair which the Blue Eagles prevailed in by 1-goal to propel themselves into the B-Div bracket of the play-offs. Blue Eagles win 12-11.

Raiders vs Flint Tropics...Flint were on the slate for the only double of the night and it was the big run first. Lot's of fun offence in this one too. Flint Tropics win 10-7.

Dicerolls vs Flint Tropics...the dice were in their favour as the Flint had to boot strap in for game 2 of their double header after that first test. Dicerolls stayed in this one the entire game as they received stellar goaltending to go along with some timely scoring. A late surge by Flint saved them. Flint Tropics win 8-6.

Orleans 93's vs Wounded Ducks...very nice looking game on paper. Once again the 93's were very short-benched but played a smart game. 6-6 tie.

Godsons vs A Few Good Men...could A Few Good Men get their first win prior to the play-offs? The looked good a times but could not score enough. Godsons win 6-2.

Caged Heat vs Dekes of Hazzard...an old rivalry for the night-cap. Caged Heat always plays the A-Div teams well and historically have given the Dekes teams fits over the years. This one was 4-4 heading into the 3rd and that is when the Dekes came on behind the confident goaltending of Shawn Pilon. Dekes of Hazzard win 10-4.

March 31 Highlights:

Double Headers for 3 teams on this night!

Dicerolls vs Blue Eagles...the Eagles were first up for a double. But Dicerolls had to decline the invitation due to exams. Blue Eagles win 5-0.

Blue Eagles vs Caged Heat...bottom half of the double for the Blue while the Heat were in the top half of their's. Caged Heat win 6-5.

Jr. Trops vs Caged Heat...for their 2nd the Heat would see if they could keep up the pace. Jr. Trops win 7-4.

Flint Tropics vs Wounded Duck...everyone was licking their chops in anticipation of a highly skilled and fun match! Flint Tropics win 14-12.

Orleans 93's vs A Few Good Men...the 93's were last up for the double. Orleans 93's win 11-3.

Orleans 93's vs Raiders...a tough schedule for the 93's vs the hard running Raiders for their test of endurance. Raiders win 8-4.

Godsons vs Dekes of Hazzard...Godsons were in it til late, but the Dekes were sniping. Dekes of Hazzard win 11-7.

No Games March 24 due to power outage...simply going one extra week on the schedule as play resumes Sunday, March 31 as scheduled

MARCH BREAK!

March 3 Highlights:

Dicerolls vs Jr. Trops...an old rivalry with different team names. A crazy one to say the least! 7-1 after one for Dicerolls. Then the Juniors win the 2nd 8-2 to only be down 10-9. In the 3rd the Dicerolls rolled to victory winning that period 6-2. Dicerolls win 16-11.

Flint Tropics vs A Few Good Men...a very fun game despite the lopsided score. Flint Tropics win 12-3.

Orleans 93's vs Dekes of Hazzard...the pundits were vibrating with excitement for this one. A close match until late in the game. A very clean game with lots of passing. With the 93's up 5-4 late in the game they score 3 to put it away. Perhaps the Dekes wer a little tired after Saturday's double header in the Challenge Series (see the great games played in those Game Recaps). Orleans 93' win 8-4.

Raiders vs Blue Eagles...the Eagles were eager to show well in this for some confidence and belief vs the Top Dog. Despite the lopsided score this game was engaging and the Raiders has to work very hard throughout for this win. Raiders win 13-2.

Caged Heat vs Godsons...first of two for the Godsons vs the surprising Caged Heat. Caged Heat eked out a one goal win as the Godsons were perhaps a little unlucky not to tie this one up late in the game. Caged Heat win 7-6.

Godsons vs Wounded Ducks...the Godsons team system would be put to the test vs the very active offence of the Ducks. It was Ducky. The Ducks showcased some fine talent and play-making. Wounded Ducks win 12-5.

February 24 Highlights:

Orleans 93's vs Godsons...the Godsons played their best system game in awhile and kept the 93's to the outside for most of the game. The 93's were missing 2 key shooters. But full value to the Godsons for this huge upset win. Godsons win 7-3.

Dicerolls vs Caged Heat...based on recent analysis Caged Heat were given the favourite tab for this game. Caged Heat had a 3-1 lead after one period. But the Dicerolls won the 2nd 3-0 for a 4-3 heading into the 3rd. Caged Heat tied it 4-4, but the Dicerolls scored a late winner. Dicerolls win 5-4.

Wounded Ducks vs Blue Eagles...the Ducks needed some help filling up their nest as a few eggs were missing. The Blue Eagles have looked good in the last few games, so a possible upset was the rumour.  The Blue Eagles played well, but the Ducks were better in scoring department. Wounded Ducks win 14-8

Raiders vs Jr. Trops...the Juniors surprised the Raiders with a strong performance and kept it close right up until the Raiders scored an insurance marker in the final minute of play. Raiders win 11-9.

Flint Tropics vs Dekes of Hazzard...the Dekes were in this one for the first half of the game. But some defensive coverage lapsed cost them dearly after that as this Flint team can pass themselves into openings for scoring if left open. Flint Tropics win 15-8.

Dekes of Hazzard vs A Few Good Men...Dekes of Hazzard win 7-2.

Remember no games February 17 as we enjoy Family Day Weekend...see you back for action on February 24

February 10 Highlights:

Raiders vs Dicerolls...interesting team styles for this one. Totally different. Dicerolls are a passing 0 contact team. The Raiders are lane runners and will be in your space right up to the baseline of the OBBHA rules. So the pundits thought the Raiders would own the ball and then use their own improved team passing to their advantage. And they did, but Dicerolls surprised everyone with a decent output on offence showcasing some fine hands and quick play-making. Raiders win 13-7.

A Few Good Men vs Blue Eagles...AFGM hoped for a good showing the the Blue Eagles have improved their game most recently. AFGM played their best as a group yet, but so did the Blue Eagles as they welcomed some new additions to the roster that impressed with fair play and a fair bit of talent too. Blue Eagles pulled away as the game wore on in the 3rd period. Blue Eagles win 10-4.

Flint Tropics vs Godsons...the Godsons knew they were in touch but had confidence after giving the A-Div champion Raiders a huge scare. The Godsons did the same thing tonight only down a goal late in the game before Flint's great hands and shots scored the important insurance markers in the final minutes. Flint Tropics win 12-9.

Wounded Ducks vs Jr. Trops...the Ducks were happy to get the Trops in Game 1 of their their twin bill. The score is shocking. What is shocking was to watch the game and see it happen. The luck was so one sided. And then Cole McMillan made so many unbelievable saves it became almost expected by the Trops who just kept laughing at the whole thing...but never wavered on the effort level. Wounded Ducks on the other hand looked very good! Wounded Ducks win 18-2.

Dekes of Hazzard vs Wounded Ducks...it was talked about that the Dekes team passing might tire out the Ducks in their 2nd game and the difference maker in this game. With the game tied 5-5 late in the 2nd period a wonderful moment took place. The Dekes scored but the goal was missed....but the Ducks used one of the OBBHA's 4-F's to help make it clear that they saw the Dekes score. The "Fair-play" F was implemented much to the appreciation of all in this game and beyond. Thank you Wounded Ducks from all of us! Please everyone look to this moment and embrace if forever for all future games. An unfortunate contact to goalie sent the Ducks goalie home injured and halted what was a very good match on the go. Dekes of Hazzard win 12-6.

Caged Heat vs Orleans 93's...goaltending would be key in this one. Caged Heat played yet another close game with an A-Did team until late. Only down 4-3 after two periods the 93's had to give it their all to pull away in the 3rd. Orleans 93's win 9-4.

February 3 Highlights:

A Few Good Men vs Jr.Trops...the Juniors have impressed this session so far. A toughie for A Few Good Men who lost some offence in the Xmas off season. A Few Good Men had a few old friends help out and this game was very well played. Jr. Trops win 10-5.

Flint Tropics vs Orleans 93's...a great looking match-up as always. And it was! Great play making all around. The Tropics held a 7-4 lead after the 2nd. But the 93's stormed back for the comeback win. Orleans 93's win 13-9.

Raiders vs Caged Heat...everyone was interested in seeing how Caged Heat would do vs the defending champs. Caged Heat played well but did not have the finish. Raiders win 10-2.

Godsons vs Raiders...Godsons were happy to get the Raiders on the bottom end of their double header. The Godsons have beaten the Raiders in cross over action before. The underdogs once again were up late in the game and had the Raiders on the ropes. But the Raiders outworked the Godsons on a few key shifts and capitalized late for a nervy win that needed an empty netter to put it away. Raiders win 9-7.

Wounded Ducks vs Dicerolls...two very fair minded teams. A good time was anticipated. The Ducks were expected to win and needed the win. It was in doubt right to the end as Dicerolls had the offence rolling. Wounded Ducks win 11-9.

Blue Eagles vs Dekes of Hazzard...great match-up for the night-cap! Close after two period at 5-4 Dekes and then they pulled away in the 3rd on the strength of their passing and Dan making some key saves at key moments. Dekes of Hazzard win 10-5.

January 27 Highlights:

Caged Heat vs Flint Tropics...could Caged Heat provide another shocking upset? Caged Heat kept this one in doubt for two periods. Shawn Pilon had to be on his game to keep the Flint Tropics up 2-1 and 4-1 at the period breaks. Finally all the missed chances Caged Heat were counting gave way for the Tropics to pull away in the 3rd. Flint Tropics win 8-1.

Dekes of Hazzard vs Jr. Trops...the French Palace crowd was looking forward to this intriguing match-up. It was a wild one! Great plays and a great pace! 4-4 an 9-8 Dekes at the breaks. The 3rd was the Jr.s period to shine as they had the offence on fire to pull away later in the game. Fun stuff! Jr. Trops win 15-12.

A Few Good Men vs Dicerolls...A Few Good Men were looking for their best outing of the winter. They came up with it, but the short bench caught up with them in the 3rd.They were only down 7-4 but Dicerolls kept rolling for the win. Dicerolls win 10-4.

Dicerolls vs Orleans 93's...a tough draw for the roll of the dice in the bottom half of their double header. The 93's are a fine tuned machine these days. Dicerolls had an excellent first period only down 1-0. They tired as the game wore on and the 93's used ball control and some fine passing to keep pulling away. Orleans 93's win 8-2.

Blue Eagles vs Godsons...a tight match was expected. It was! An excellent match. Blue Eagles showcased their newest goalie Mr. Riff and he was the difference in the end. 1-1 and 4-4 at the period stops. In the 3rd the Blues Eagles were up 6-4 and held on as the Godsons pulled the goalie and scored once but not twice in a wild push for the tie. Blue Eagles win 6-5.

Wounded Ducks vs Raiders...a great match-up for the night-cap! It was 7-5 Raiders late and they scored 3 more late goals to make the score more inflated than the game was. The Ducks had everyone but their captain so they showed quite a bit of promise for the future games. Raiders win 10-5.

January 20 Highlights:

Jr.Trops vs Flint Tropics...what a great way to start the night! A classic battle between friends and the first of two for the Juniors. What a game! The Flint thought they had it in bag after period break leads of 6-2 and 10-6. But shockingly the Jr. Trops tied it all up at 11-11 with under 2-minutes remaining. The crowd was left slightly disappointed as the Flint crew scored two late to win. Flint Tropics win 13-11.

Jr. Trops vs Godsons...the Godsons were licking their chops for this chance to get the Trops in tired mode. The Juniors were pumped from their great game in the first game of their double header. The Godsons knew they had to have a superlative effort just to keep pace. It was a wonderful game and ended appropriately in a tie. 8-8 tie.

Blue Eagles vs Orleans 93's...a very lopsided looking match-up, but you never know! It was in doubt after one with the 93's only up 5-3. But they pulled away in the 2nd period. Orleans 93's win 14-5.

Wounded Ducks vs Caged Heat...the Ducks are looking good so a tough one for the much improved Caged Heat. But Paul Trudeau in the Caged Heat net stole this one! He was a monster as the shots were 3-1 and the saves he made were simply amazing. Head saves and diving stick saves were among the craziness he had working. Yep, a huge upset! Caged Heat win 2-1.

Dekes of Hazzard vs Dicerolls...a tough one to pick as both teams have chemistry, but the way the Dekes have been playing they had the edge on the betting. At 5-4 Dekes late this one had the look of a roll of the dice. In the end the Dekes scored two late to breathe a little easier. But a gallant effort from the ex-Falcons and their new netminder Jim! Dekes of Hazzard win 7-4.

A Few Good Men vs Raiders...another very hard match up for A Few Good Men. The Raiders were looking to get back into the win column after last weeks interesting opening loss. A Few Good Men peformed better. And the Raiders passed better than usual. They need to work on that part of the game as the top teams they will face are very strong in that department. Strong lane running will not be a factor in this talented division. Passing will be the theme and the difference maker. Raiders win 13-4.

Welcome Back everyone for 2019 and a warm welcome to the Falcons return as Dicerolls!

January 13 Opening Night Highlights!

Jr.Trops vs Orleans 93's...the Trops played far better than the score indicates! Guy in the 93's net had some kind of "force" with him as he barely missed out on a rare OBBHA shut-out. Orleans 93's win 14-1.

Blue Eagles vs Flint Tropics...The Tropics are the real deal this session. Their passing is impressive and chemistry looks fun! The Blue Eagles scored but keeping ball control was the issue as they were chasing the game. Flint Tropics win 16-8.

Caged Heat vs A Few Good Men...Caged Heat passed and played a complete game...probably their best game ever! Caged Heat win 12-0.

A Few Good Men vs Wounded Ducks...A Few Good Men on the back end of their double header actually played better than their first. But the Ducks are also the real deal this session. Wounded Ducks win 20-6.

Dekes of Hazzard vs Raiders...the Dekes were short benched in the first period and held the fort only down 2-1 until their team showed up in the 2nd period. Then it was game on. The Dekes showed they belong as they out passed the hustling Raiders for a big win. Not a surprising win the way the Dekes have been playing in the most recent session. Dekes of Hazzard win 9-7.

Godsons vs Dicerolls...welcome back Falcons who are now renamed Dice Roll. Al Jolivet was once their goalie but now is Godson. The Dicerols goalie was injured so Shawn Pilon took up the job and the great goalie battle of old was back on! Fast forward to a lead of 6-4 for the Godsons late in the game....the Dicerolls boys got it going late led by Graeme Smithers (4-goal game) and took the lead 7-6. But with the goalie pulled the Godsons tied it up with 2-seconds remaining! 7-7 tie

***********************************************************************

Great Fall Session everyone! See you back on Sunday, January 13th!

Highlights for Sunday, December 9 A-Div and B-Div Finals and Seeding Matches:

(B-Div 3rd Seed Match) Caged Heat vs Godsons...no cool beans shout out to the Godsons captain missing Xmas action, but the two teams put on a good show. Caged Heat captain Neil Misner scored the hat-trick, but the Godsons prevailed. Godsons win 7-5.

(B-Div 5th Seed Match)  A Few Good Men vs Jr. Trops...some incredible plays that words can't describe but the stories will be told! The Trops had the offence for this one. Jr. Trops win 11-6.

Div 3rd Seed Match) Wounded Ducks vs Flint Tropics...with visions of glory on both sides, they turned into sugar plumbs. 5-5 tie.

(A-Div Final) Raiders vs Orleans 93’s...skill was the center of attention. A well played and clean game. The emotions were high and raw for a few near the end but when one looks at this game it was a master-piece. The 93's were just a little shy on the bench and one wonders if the outcome would have been different had they had just one more piece of the puzzle. But it was the Raiders that had all the pieces in place and this gave them 1-0 and 5-4 leads at the breaks and they carried on the lead in the 3rd for the win. Congrats to both teams on a great game the fans enjoyed watching. And to the Raiders for the championship win. Raiders win 7-5.

Congrats to the A-Div Champion :

(B-Div Final) Blue Eagles vs Dekes of Hazzard...the Dekes needed to concentrate on their passing game for success while the Blue Eagles needed to make sure they had defensive coverage nailed before any thoughts of offence. This was all true in the first period and it left the Blue Eagles up 4-3. However in the 2nd the Blue Eagles exploded on offence and won the period 5-1 and were up 9-4 and it looked like a no-doubter for the Blue. But in the 3rd the Dekes who have been known to struggle with leads...now turned the table completely around and close it to 9-7 with under 1:30 remaining. With the goalie pulled the Dekes rocked the place with two goals including the tying goal with 27 seconds left! So it went to the shoot-out yet again for an OBBHA championship. The Blue Eagles won it 4 rounds!! Great entertainment created by two teams that played a fun clean match!! Congrats to both!. And to the Blue Eagles for winning another Sunday Championship and are the top winning franchise on Sundays and keep just under the top OBBHA franchise of All Mesh from Saturday's who have just one more having just one the day before. Blue Eagles win 10-9 in a shoot-out.

Congrats to the B-Div Champs :

Highlights Sunday, December 2nd B-Div semi-finals/seed game  of 3-game Revolver Play-off:

A Few Good Men vs Caged Heat (6vs4)...the Caged Heat played a near perfect defensive game as their goalie did the same thing in the net! Paul Trudeau was yet again on his game. A Few Good Men lacked a deep bench which came back to haunt their lungs in the 3rd. Caged Heat will play for the 3rd seed while A Few Good Men play for the 5th seed next week. Caged Heast win 6-2.

Godsons vs Blue Eagles (semi-finals)...the Blue Eagle had the heart and sole of the team out for this big game as they were severely short handed on the bench. The did what was necessary and kept the game close in the opening period at 2-2 to have any chance in this one. The seeds of doubt were forming on the Godsons side at this point. The Blue then held a 6-5 lead after two and it was basically anyone's game to win. Then finally as the wild scoring continued and the Blue Eagles up 10-8 the Godsons had the goalie pulled and scored to make it 10-9 and with one-second left a screened shot hit the goalie and stayed out! Blue Eagles off to the Finals while the Godson vie for 3rd seed next week. Blue Eagles win 10-9.

Jr. Trops vs Dekes of Hazzard (semi-finals)...highly anticipated game. Words are hard to find for this crazy game. So let's just offence offence offence! 11-11 after regulation. A shoot-out was needed and the Dekes took this one after heart break last Wednesday in one. Dekes to the Finals and the Juniors to the 3rd Seed game. Dekes of Hazzard win 12-11.

Highlights A-DIv Round Robin Game #3 of 3: (Top two advance to Finals while bottom two will vie for the 3rd Seed Match)

Raiders vs Wounded Ducks...Raiders tie or win and they are in the Finals. The Raiders took a fairly quick 3-0 lead and protected it right through the game Late in the affair they were up 6-4 and the Ducks were pressing but an empty netter ended it. Raiders to the Finals and Ducks to the 3rd seed Match. Raiders nwin 7-4.

Orleans 93's vs Flint Tropics...talent was on show and many fans just sat back and enjoyed the spectacle of two teams showcasing their skill in the OBBHA product as designed! 93's already in the Finals as the Flint boys are in the 3rd seed tussle. Flint Tropics this time 5-3.

Highlights Sunday, November 25 B-Div Game #1 of 3-game Revolver Play-off:

5pm = (5vs4) Jr.Trops vs Caged Heat...winner will play a semi-final vs 2 or 1 depending on re-seeding, while loser will play two more consolation seeding games. Despite a couple of tough moments this game was a treat for everyone to play in. 2-2 and 4-4 scored at the two breaks. And then 6-6 after regulation. It went to a shoot-out and there was only one goal scored and it went to the Trops who advanced to the semi-final. Caged Heat were so close!! Jr. Trops win 7-6 in a shoot-out.

8pm =  (6vs3) A Few Good Men vs Godsons...winner will play a semi-final vs 2 or 1 depending on re-seeding, , while loser will play two more consolation seeding games. A Few Good Men have been the talk of Sunday nights as they have built some very impressive chemistry. They are playing their best ever ball hockey for their 10 years in the 10 year OBBHA! This season brought the to this game to reach the semi-final and they were up 3-0 after one period and 4-3 after two. They were up 7-6 late in the game but the Godsons scored two late goals to basically steal this one from them. The Godsons are off the semi-finals but have quite a bit of respect for A Few Good Men as do the rest of the division. Godsons win 8-7.

9pm = (2vs1) Blue Eagles vs Dekes of Hazzard...both teams are guaranteed a spot in the semi-finals to follow. The Dekes showed why they have been so dominant all session (save for the Caged Heat games). The Blue Eagles gave it their all but the Dekes had the better passing team and it powered them to a convincing win. Both still have semi-final matches next week but the Dekes have all the momentum. Dekes of Hazzard win 9-3.

Highlights A-DIv Round Robin Game #2 of 3: (Top two advance to Finals while bottom two will vie for the 3rd Seed Match)

6pm = Flint Tropics vs Wounded Ducks...the two teams played a very fun game that ended in a tie. The result keeps both teams in the picture for a Final berth. Wins are a must next game! 5-5 tie.

7pm = Raiders vs Orleans 93's vs Raiders...low scoring classic. Winner punches a ticket to the Finals! The 93's pulled it out in a very well played match that was all about skill. Nice to see this kind of game being the norm in the OBBHA now. With the 93's now waiting to see who they will play in two weeks (but still play a role next week as they play the Flint Tropics)...the Raiders now need at least a tie next week to advance to the Final. Orleans 93's win 5-4.

November 18 Highlights:

A-DIv Round Robin Game #1 of 3: (Top two advance to Finals while bottom two will vie for the 3rd Seed Match)

Orleans 93's vs Wounded Ducks...The Ducks were in this from start with leads to finish as they were within striking distance until the last minute or two. The 93's are notorious slow starters and like last week were down 4-1 early but had a huge 2nd for a 7-5 lead. The teams played an even 3rd and at 9-9 the 93's were able to pull out the win late. Orleans 93's win 11-9.

Flint Tropics vs Raiders...this was a skilled game with big speed. The contact was called and a few more penalty shots until the teams adapted and the entertaining end to end action was exciting to watch. Raiders win 11-8.

Last game of Regular Season B-Div: (3-game Revolver play-off to follow)

Godsons vs Blue Eagles...winner gets 2nd and is guaranteed a semi-final spot in two weeks. Godsons had a few late arrivals and this hurt their start as they came out flat and never got their mojo. Conversely the Blue Eagles were prepared and played a consistent game throughout and it was no contest as a result. Blue Eagles win 10-5.

A Few Good Men vs Caged Heat...Both teams will be in must win games next week to access the semi-finals. This was a great match and at 3-3 late A Few Good Men scored two late goals for the fun win. A Few Good Men win 5-3.

Jr. Trops vs Dekes of Hazzard.... a great passing game. Wild how these two teams are so far apart in the standings. However once again the Dekes just seem to be able to score the big goal when needed. Case in point for this game....late in the game Dekes are up 8-7 with the Trops pushing to tie, but the Dekes get two late markers to secure the win. Dekes of Hazzard win 10-7.

Everyone received a sample of Head & Shoulders Old Spice Pure Sport anti-dandruff shampoo which helps get rid of dandruff and does so with a manly Old Spice scent.

If you have Struts take a photo of you and some or all of your team with one sample only for submission to Head and Shoulders....you could win $300 for a team party at Ralph's!

(staged or funny will give you a better chance of winning we are told...so for example one player (or all) with shampoo in his hair might do the trick!)

Play clean!

John and Jason at the OBBHA

November 11 Highlights: Remembrance Service OBBHA Style took place prior to each match today...

A-Div: Flint Tropics vs Wounded Ducks...this was one heck of a game. Tons of goals for the first two periods as it 4-4 and 9-8 Tropics at the breaks. Too bad this did not end in a tie. But the Flint handed a last second penalty shot to the Ducks captain Andrew Dubroy and he made no mistake for the win. Wounded Ducks win 11-10.

B-Div: Godsons vs Jr. Trops...The game was tight for two periiods as the Godsons built 3-2 and 6-4 leads at the period breaks before running away in the 3rd period. Godsons win 10-6.

B-Div: Caged Heat vs Blue Eagles...the Blue Eagles built a solid looking 3-0 lead by the end of the opening act. The Blue Eagles were just on this night and took a commanding lead in the 2nd and carried it through to the finish. Blue Eagles win 9-4.

A-Div: Orleans 93's vs Raiders...tail of two games in two periods. 6-1 Raiders after the first. The 93's won the 2nd 8-1 for 9-7 lead...really! Less goals in the 3rd somehow and the 93's hung on for a one goal win. Orleans 93's win 11-10

B-Div: A Few Good Men vs Dekes of Hazzard...A Few too many Dekes were on their game for A Few mistakes to make a difference. The Dekes had the passing game and sniping working. AFGM played their hearts out so it was actually a back and forth run, but the goals were scored by the Dekes. Dekes of Hazzard win 14-6.

November 4 Highlights:

B-Div: Blue Eagles vs Jr. Trops...all out offence for this match. The Blues Eagles held an early lead and never relinquished it despite the Trops continually crawling back within striking distance. The goals were just too plentiful after the opening minutes Eagles lead to close it. Blue Eagles win 14-11.

A-Div: Flint Tropics vs Orleans 93's...the score does not indicate the quality of play. And the Tropics finally solved their goalie situation after the game as it appears Shawn Pilon has signed long term. This enable Dave Labelle to vacate the net and quarterback the defence. In the meantime the 93's continued to play inspired ball hockey. Orleans 93's win 13-2.

A-Div: Orleans 93's vs Raiders...this was an intense battle. The Raiders revolving goalie issue seems to have finally been resolved, but they had a difficult choice as they released a quality goalie in Shawn Pilon over to the Flint Tropics and this looks like an excellent pick-up for them. This was close until late in the 3rd when the  93's scored some insurance markers. Orleans 93' win 9-6.

A-Div: Wounded Ducks vs Raiders...the Ducks matched the Raiders offence for a change and this resulted in a wild affair. The Ducks scored late in the game for the high scoring and entertaining affair. Wounded Ducks win 12-11.

B-Div: A Few Good Men vs Godsons...a very well played game as both teams used skill for the most part. A Few Good Men were just a couple over the minimum so the bench gave it a solid effort in a saw-off. Godsons had a slight edge in the play times, but a surprisingly even game even though they had the full bench. 7-7 tie.

B-Div: Dekes of Hazzard vs Caged Heat...The Caged Heat held 2-0 and 6-3 period break leads. The Dekes seemed to wake up for the 3rd and rallied to tie this one up, so it was a better feeling for them in the end. Caged Heat looked good and perhaps deserved more than the one point. 8-8 tie.

October 28 Highlights:

A-Div: Raiders vs Flint Tropics...a little intense at first but then the teams settled down. Raiders held the edge in play with the bigger bench up 3-2 and 5-4 at the period breaks. In the 3rd the Flint bench tired and the Raiders pulled away. Raiders win 12-8.

B-Div: Caged Heat vs Jr. Trops...the Trops jumped out early for a 4-0 first period lead. An even 2nd left it at 6-1. But in the 3rd Caged Heat made a move and closed it to 8-7 before a late Trops goal finalized it. Jr. Trops win 9-7.

A-Div: Orleans 93's vs Wounded Ducks...a great ball movement game. The 93's were better at it. Great fun. Orleans 93's win 11-5.

B-Div: Blue Eagles vs A Few Good Men...first of two for A Few Good Men. Lot's of offence here! Blue Eagles were up 5-3 after one period of shooting. The craziness on offence continued as it was 9-8 for A Few Good Men after two periods. Poor goalies the crowd said as the defenses were not sharp. The D were actually better in the 3rd as far less goals were scored. A Few Good Men win 12-9.

B-Div: Godsons vs A Few Good Men...first of two for the Godsons while the Few Men were on their back end. The first two periods were fire-wagon hockey at its best at 3-3 and 5-4 Godsons. Then with the Godsons continuing to push the pace, A Few Good Men faded on a few shifts and the Godsons pounded in the goals to pull away. Godsons win 11-5.

B-Div: Dekes of Hazzard vs Godsons...tough 2nd crack at it for the Godsons. They were up 6-5 after two periods but they tired and the Dekes powered up for the win. Dekes of Hazzard win 10-7.

October 21 Highlights:

B-Div: Jr. Trops vs A Few Good Men...a close game for two periods as the Trops held break leads of 3-2 and 6-4. In the 3rd the Trops pulled away on the strength of their creative offence. Jr. Trops win 11-6.

A-Div: Wounded Ducks vs Flint Tropics...not enough Ducks in the nest yet again. Flint Tropics win 16-6.

A-Div: Raiders vs Orleans 93's...Vegas called the 93's out for what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas...so they are still there! Raiders win 5-0.

B-Div: Godsons vs Caged Heat...the Heat were prepared for their two games with a big bench. They came out flying in the first period for a 5-1 lead. The Godsons unveiled their new jerseys and they rock! Caged Heat rocked as they had the offence on fire. Caged Heat win 13-5.

B-Div: Caged Heat vs Dekes of Hazzard...the Dekes new the Heat would not be tired as that aforementioned big bench would eliminate any fatigue issues. The Dekes would need to use their patented passing strategy to overcome the Heat. Best game of the night. Caged Heat were up 1-0 and 3-2 at the breaks but it was an even game. The Dekes tied it late. 4-4 tie.

B-Div: Dekes of Hazzard vs Blue Eagles...the Dekes knew they would be in tough for game 2 of their double header as the Eagles always come to run hard each and every game. The Eagles had a short bench and this killed it for them in the 3rd period only down 5-4, but had very little left to mount any kind of sustained offence. Dekes of Hazzard win 9-4.

October 14 Highlights:

B-Div: Blue Eagles vs Godsons...as per usual these two teams engaged in a low scoring fast paced match. After 2 periods it was 2-2. In the 3rd the Godsons continued to make good key passes to create space and scoring chances...they capitalized on enough to pull away. Godsons win 6-3.

B-Div: Caged Heat vs A Few Good Men...a great game. A 4-1 Caged Heat lead after one evaporated in the 2nd as the Few Good Men rallied to to tie 4-4 as the teams entered the 3rd. At 5-5 the Caged Heat scored a late winner. Caged Heat win 6-5.

A-Div: Raiders vs Wounded Ducks...the Ducks had some offensive help in this one and that was the difference. Wounded Ducks win 11-9.

A-Div: Flint Tropics vs Wounded Ducks...the Ducks were up as the 2nd half of their double header started but it was the Flint offense that did them in. Flint Tropics win 15-10.

A-Div: Orleans 93's vs Flint Tropics...Flints turn for two in a row. And this was a wild one as for the 3rd game in a row the offence was the focus. The teams were tied 11-11 going into the 3rd after the Flint came back from sizeable deficits. In the 3rd there were no goals until with 2 minutes left the 93's scored and then with 1-minute remaining the Flint Tropics tied it up. 12-12 tie

B-Div: Dekes of Hazzard vs Jr. Trops...an awful showing of bench strength killed this game for the Trops (and the Dekes). Dekes of Hazzard win 16-6.

September 30 Highlights:

A-Div: Flint Tropics vs Raiders...Andrew Gowing was stellar in the Flint net. He helped get the Tropics up 5-2 in the 3rd period. Then the Raiders potted two quick ones and then tied it up. But late in the game Pat Portelance scored the winner. Flint Tropics win 6-5.

B-Div: Jr. Trops vs Godsons...simply the Godsons had the horses on the bench and the Trops did not. Godsons win 10-2.

B-Div: Jr. Trops vs Blue Eagles...the 2nd half of the double header for the Trops did not go any better. Blue Eagles in the first of their two were sharp. Blue Eagles win 8-2.

B-Div: Blue Eagles vs Caged Heat...a low scoring game was predicted as the two goalies are usually tough to beat. Shawn Pilon in Blue vs Paul Trudeau in orange. 2-0 Blue Eagles after the first. The Blue Eagles were up 4-0 late and Pilon seemed destined for a shut-out as posts were his friend along the way, but alas a late marker shattered the goose egg. Blue Eagles win 4-1 for the daily double win.

A-Div: Wounded Ducks vs Orleans 93's...the Ducks were missing their big guns and needed a well rounded game to even stay close to the quick passing and speedy 93's. Did not happen....Ducks really need their line-up to come to games to stay competitive. Orleans 93'2 win 15-3.

B-Div: Dekes of Hazzard vs A Few Good Men...the night cap. Great game minus some complaining that will be addressed league wide starting Monday night with each and every team. Aside from that the Dekes were up 4-3 and 8-5 at the breaks and late in the game were up 9-8 as AFGM pressed hard to come-back all the way. A late goal gave the Dekes of Hazzard the win 10-8.

September 16 Highlights:

A-Div: Flint Tropics vs Orleans 93's...Flint Tropics win 10-3.

B-Div: Jr. Trops vs Caged Heat...Caged Heat win 6-4.

B-Div: A Few Good Men vs Blue Eagles...Blue Eagles win 7-6.

A-Div: Wounded Ducks vs Raiders...Raiders win 11-9.

B-Div: Godsons vs Dekes of Hazzard...Dekes of Hazzard win 7-3.

Sunday with Struts, April 15 Highlights:

B:Div: A Few Good Men vs Caged Heat..1-1 after one and then A Few Good Men held a 3-2 advantage heading into the final period. Caged Heat came up with the goods in the 3rd with two mammoth goals for the one goal squeaker win. Caged Heat win 4-3.

B:Div: Godsons vs Blue Eagles...well played. 1-1 and 4-4 at the period breaks. Then an unlikely goal scorer emerged for the Godsons to lead them to victory. Godsons win 9-7.

B:Div: Jr. Trops vs Falcons...the Trops could not get untracked let alone get away from the grip of the talons. The Falcons win 12-6.

A:Div: Flint Tropics vs Orleans 93's...the 93's handed the Flint crew a devastating loss that takes away the bye for the Senior Tropics. A close one goal loss puts the Flint Tropics into next weeks A-Div semi-final. Orleans 93's win 6-5.

A:Div: Wounded Ducks vs Flint Tropics...the Tropics wanted this game to mean something, but it was just for not after the opening game loss of their double-header. The played like it meant something though! Flint Tropics win 13-7.

A:Div: Raiders vs Buzz Kills...Raiders needed to win to get next weeks bye from the semi-final into the following weeks A-Div final. Buzz Kills knew this and that even a tie would not help the Raiders cause. After the first it was a nervy 3-2 lead for the Raiders. In the 2nd the Raiders extended the lead to 6-3 and with excitement followed through with a solid 3rd to wrap up first place and the bye into the A-Div Finals in two weeks. Raiders win 11-4.

A:Div: Blue Ballers vs Buzz Kills...5-0 Buzz Kills

A:Div: Dekes of Hazzard vs Blue Ballers...5-0 Dekes of Hazzard.

Sunday with Struts, April 8 Highlights:

B:Div: A Few Good Men vs Falcons...Melanie Simard kept her men and woman it and they tried hard to get enough goals for her, but just came up short. Falcons win 7-5.

B:Div: Caged Heat vs Blue Eagles...the Eagles soared on offence despite a very structured game from Caged Heat. Blue Eagles win 11-4.

B:Div: Godsons vs Jr. Trops...the absolute wildest of the night. Offences were on so the entertainment value was high. 3-3 after one and then 9-6 for the Godsons after two. In the 3rd period the Trops scored 3 on one shift to tie 9-9 before giving up the killer goal on the same shift to be down 10-9. However the Trops scored two late goals for an unpredictable win. Jr. Trops win 11-10.

A:Div: Dekes of Hazzard vs Flint Tropics...Flint win out and they get a bye to the A-Div Finals. And next week they have a huge double header. The looked after business tonight despite a valiant comeback bid by the Dekes in the 3rd period. Flint Tropics win 11-7.

A:Div: Raiders vs Dekes of Hazzard...the Dekes did not have any ball luck in their 2nd game and Raiders were on them knowing it was their 2nd game. Raiders win 15-5.

A:Div: Blue Ballers vs Orleans 93's...a very tight match. High end speed was the main asset to the game for both teams along with some fabulous goaltending on both sides. 1-1 after one and 2-2 after two breaks. The 93's "veterans" kept everything settled and continued to grind out the creative passing if you will and got the necessary goals in the 3rd to secure a hard earned win. Orleans 93's win 6-3.

A:Div: Buzz Kills vs Wounded Ducks...oops on the absolute wildest of the night mentioned earlier, this one was just as wild...a potential B-Div Final depending on the match-ups to come, so a very good test for both sides to see where they stand vs each other. It looked like Ducks in a waddle as they were up 7-3 after one period. But everyone just knew the Buzz Kills were playing well and were in the game despite the score. Finally it was game on at 10-8 Ducks after two breaks for a quick quack. In the 3rd with the Ducks clinging by a wing to the one goal lead the Buzzing was relentless with the goalie pulled. Finally the Ducks landed safely. Wounded Ducks win 13-12.

Sunday with Struts, March 25 Highlights:

A:Div: Dekes of Hazzard vs Orleans 93's...6 or a half dozen of the other for the two games in the double header for the 93's. The 93's ran away with this one early and the Dekes scored those 6 to make it more resoectable. Orleans 93's win 12-6.

A:Div: Orleans 93's vs Buzz kills...the 93's again had a massive start to run away with a sweep of their double header. Bit of a shocker and the Buzz Kills still worked hard right to the end to get 6 in. Another 12-6 win for Orleans 93's.

B:Div: Falcons vs Caged Heat...5-3 and 6-4 for the Falcons at the breaks. No goals in the 3rd. Very good game. Falcons win 6-4.

B:Div: A Few Good Men vs Godsons...A Few Good Men played a great first half of the game tied 4-4. But then they stopped passing for some reason. The Godsons kept passing and made it look easy in a romp. Godsons win 13-4.

A:Div: Flint Tropics vs Blue Ballers...Flint a la 93's had a big start and never looked back. Blue Ballers never let up. Flint Tropics win 13-6.

B:Div :Blue Eagles vs Jr. Trops...a very well played first period left the Trops up 3-2 and then they dominated the 2nd for a 7-3 lead. The Blue Eagles owned the 3rd and closed to 7-5 and were unlucky not to have closed it...a late goal put it away for the Trops. Jr. Trops win 8-5.

A:Div: Raiders vs Wounded Ducks...5-3 Raiders after one as the offences on both sides looked good. In the 2nd the Raiders took over for an 8-3 lead. The Raiders kept the lead as the Ducks never quit. Raiders win 9-3.

Sunday with Struts, March 4 Highlights:

B:Div: Falcons vs Godsons...a 5-1 Godsons lead looked very safe but the Falcons made the big comeback to tie it up 5-5. The Godsons made it another one goal lead and the Falcons came up just short including a missed penalty shot. Godsons win 6-5.

B:Div: Caged Heat vs Jr.Trops...a surprise and upset for this one as the Caged Heat built a 5-1 lead and played an excellent game as the Trops tried as hard as they could for a comeback. Caged Heat win 8-4.

A:Div: Flint Tropics vs Raiders...the match up looked great on paper but everything went extremely well for Flint and the Raiders could not raid the tomb at all. Flint Tropics win 10-2.

A:Div: Orleans 93's vs Wounded Ducks...the first flight for the Ducks. Instead of winging it the two teams stuck to their team strategies. The Ducks free-wheeling passing vs the more structured game 93's defence first style. The Ducks hit posts and struggled with the ball while the 93's hit on their play-making chances. Orleans 93's win 11-3.

A:Div: Wounded Ducks Blue Ballers...the 2nd leg of the Ducks two flights. Duck legs were the menu item in question after a hard fly in the opener vs the 93's. The Blue Ballers owned the first 6-4. The Ducks won the 2nd 7-0 for an 11-6 lead. The Ducks built a big lead in the 3rd only to see the Ballers make it close near the end with late flurry. Wounded Ducks win 13-11.

B:Div: Blue Eagles vs A Few Good Men...the Blue Eagles raced out in front early an never looked back. A Few Good Men after last weeks great effort were left perplexed somewhat of the turn of event. Blue Eagles win 13-4.

A:Div: Buzz Kills vs Dekes of Hazzard...another surprise result as the Dekes played their best yet in 2018. The Buzz Kills ran into a hot goalie as Dan the man was the man in the Dekes net tonight. Bujold gave the Dekes the key saves in their win. Dekes of Hazzard win 9-4.

Sunday with Struts, February 25 Highlights:

A:Div: Buzz Kills vs Flint Tropics...an important game to make inroads into the top 3 A playoff pool. The Flint Tropics pulled it out, but it was great goaltending and play-making from start to finish. Flint Tropics win 5-3.

B:Div Jr. Trops vs A Few Good Men...a fine game that went wild in the final minute to make it a spectacular game. With one minute remaining in the game and the Jr. Trops up 4-3,AFGM and women score 2 goals to take a 5-3 lead with 25 seconds left. But the Trops scored 2 after that for the unpredictable win! Jr. Trops win 6-5.

B:Div: Falcons vs Blue Eagles...a tight game for two periods knotted up at 3-3. Then in the 3rd the offences went wild with the Falcons finally prevailing by one goal. Falcons win 8-7.

A:Div: Wounded Ducks vs Dekes of Hazzard...a close first ended 3-2 Ducks. After that the quacking was deafening. The Ducks made a case for B-Div favourites with an effort like this. Wounded Ducks win 14-5.

B:Div: Godsons vs Caged Heat...the Godsons seemed to own the 1st period and destined to take over up 3-1 and moving the ball well. But the Caged Heat had a great 2nd period and it was tied 3-3 heading into the final period. Caged Heat may have had the edge in the 3rd but the two teams traded a goal. 4-4 tie.

A:Div: Raiders vs Orleans 93's...huge game for the 93's regarding aspirations to finish in the top 3 A pool for the play-offs. The Raiders in the first of two for their double header looked headed to another win 6-3 after two periods and 7-4 midway through the 3rd. But the 93's played their best in the final 10-minutes to come back and tie and get a massive point. 7-7.

A:Div: Blue Ballers vs Raiders...the Raiders needed a quick start so they could weather the inevitable burn-out in the 3rd period of their daily double. They were up 5-1 after the first period and good thing as the Blue Ballers kept the pedal down and stayed with them the rest of the way, but the 1st period was the difference. Raiders win 8-4.

Sunday with Struts, February 11 Highlights:

B:Div: Caged Heat vs A Few Good Men...a very closely played match. 2-1 A Few Good Men and Women after one, but 4-3 Heat after two. At 5-5 in the 3rd the group of men and women scored a couple of big goals. A Few Good (Wo)Men win 7-5.

B:Div: Blue Eagles vs Godsons...Shawn Pilon the Blue Eagles goalie kept this one close for two periods as the Godsons held the territorial advantage throughout. They pulled away in the 3rd. Godsons win 10-3.

B:Div: Falcons vs Jr.Trops...a barn-burner! Back and forth fun and lead changes. Great passing and play-making. Jr.Tropss eke out a win 8-7.

A:Div: Orleans 93's vs Flint Tropics...another very good game. The 93's took advantage early of the late arriving Tropics and never relinquished that lead despite a valiant effort from the Flint crew who came within one before the 93's got the key goals in the final period. Orleans 93's win 11-8.

A:Div: Flint Tropics vs Wounded Ducks...short benches due to freezing rain and illness. So a great run and fun...the Tropics had the guns working as they split their double header. Flint Tropics win 8-4.

A:Div: Buzz Kills vs Raiders...full benches for this highly anticipated match-up. And it was one of the best games in the 9-year history of the the OBBHA between two of the original teams that miraculously were meeting for the first time in history. The game was played with speed and skill. 2-2 after one and 5-4 Buzz kills after the 2nd. In the 3rd it appeared Buzz Kills would win up 8-6 with less than a minute remaining. The Raiders then made it 8-7 with 31-seconds left. Then missed a penalty shot with less than 20-seconds left only to tie it up with 3-seconds remaining. Not done yet however! With 3-seconds left the Buzz Kills had the rush and clanged one right off the cross bar to end this most amazing game! 8-8 tie.

A:Div: Buzz Kills vs Blue Ballers...Buzz in game two of their double header vs a very hard running team was going to test them in many ways. One of them was a full out effort with speed from start to finish. Buzz were in a game and they knew it at 4-4 after two. The Blue Ballers even took a 5-4 3rd period lead. Then with about 8-minutes left the Buzz scored to quick goals for a 6-5 lead. Then two more late goals finally tamed the pesky Blue Ballers. Buzz Kills win 8-5.

A:Div: Blue Ballers vs Dekes of Hazzard...Blue Ballers looked to keep the runners going for the bottom end of their double. The Blue Ballers true to form kept the pace up and the Dekes who started short until the reserves showed up kept with them. 4-4 heading to the 3rd and 5-5 late until the Blue Ballers scored two late one for a big win game 2 of their twin bill. Blue Ballers win 7-5.

Sunday with Struts, February 4 Highlights:

B:Div: Falcons vs A Few Good Men...the Falcons had their offence ready for the Super Bowl. A Few Good Men struggled with their defensive coverage. So this told the story of the final score. Falcons win 9-2.

B:Div: Blue Eagles vs Caged Heat...Caged Heat held the advantage through the period breaks at 2-1 and 5-3. Fast-forward to late in the game tied at 5-5....Blue Eagle scored with just under two minutes left, then Caged Heat tied it up 6-6 with under a minute left on a penalty shot. Finally with 7-seconds left after a couple of end to end chances the Blue Eagles scored the winner with 7-seconds remaining. Blue Eagles win 7-6.

B:Div: Jr. Trops vs Godsons...Godsons were up 4-1 after one then 5-3 heading into the 3rd. The Trops kept fighting back and closed to within 6-5 and came on to try and tie it and they did! With only 2-seconds left!! 6-6 tie.

A:Div: Flint Tropics vs Dekes of Hazzard...first of two for the Dekes and they stayed close at 2-2 and only down 5-3 at the two breaks. They tired in the 3rd and the Toprics pulled away. Flint Tropics win 10-6.

A:Div: Dekes of Hazzard vs Raiders...again the Dekes started out well with strong ball movement only down 2-1 at the end of one. But the noticeably ran out of gas. Raiders win 13-4.

A:Div: Orleans 93's vs Blue Ballers...a great game. Blue Ballers surprised the 93's at 2-2 and then with the lead 5-4 after two very quick paced periods. The 93's were able to get the key goals early in the 3rd and then get some insurance markers as the period wore on, but they had to work for everything they got! Orleans 93's win 11-5.

A:Div: Wounded Ducks vs Buzz Kills...The Ducks lay an egg. Buzz Kills win 5-0.

Sunday with Struts, January 28 Highlights:

A:Div: Orleans 93's vs Dekes of Hazzard...first of 2 for the 93's and they were ready vs the short-benched Dekes. The Dekes were in deep into the 2nd down only 4-3 but ran out of steam. Orleans 93's win 12-3.

A:Div: Buzz Kills vs Orleans 93's...93's were in this one right to the end as they certainly tired as the game neared its end. Buzz Kills had to work extremely hard for everything they got and finally pulled away late in the game. Buzz Kills win 6-3.

B:Div: Caged Heat vs Falcons...the birds were up 3-0 after one period but the Heat turned it on to close within 4-3 after two. At 6-4 Falcons late they scored 2 to make it official. Falcons win 8-4.

B:Div: Godsons vs A Few Good Men...solid effort from both teams. 2-0 Godsons after one and they extended the lead by a 5-2 count heading into the 3rd. AFGM made a push in the final stages of the game but came up short as the Godsons passed the ball very well for long stretches of ball control to wind the clock down to victory. Godsons win 6-4.

A:Div: Blue Ballers vs Flint Tropics...the Flint version of the Tropics were on an all out offensive blitz from the outset and took over the game early vs a spare laden Blue Ballers. Flint tropics win 14-5.

B:Div: Jr. Trops vs Blue Eagles...the Blue Eagles family rallied around their heavy-hearted and under the weather goaltender Shawn Pilon right from the start vs a talented offensive team in the Jr. Trops. The Blue Eagles played great defence keeping the Trops to the perimeter for the most part for a 3-0 1st period lead. It took the Trops until the mid-way point of the game to finally score to make it 3-1 and by the end of the 2nd it was 3-3. The Blue Eagles had a very short bench and as much as they gutted it out they ran out of gas as the Trops came on hard and strong. Kudos to Pilon and the boys making it such a great game! Jr. Trops win 7-5.

A:Div: Wounded Ducks vs Raiders...a high scoring match. Both teams have offence to spare to be sure! Bad bounces and tough luck hurt then Ducks but the Raiders mad their own luck too. Raiders win 13-8.

Sunday with Struts, January 21 Highlights:

B:Div: Godsons vs Falcons...the Godsons continued their strong play in 2018 with a solid performance from the net out. The Falcons gave it their all but could not come up with enough offence. In fact there were no goals in the 3rd period as the Godsons smartly protected a 3-goal lead with great defensive play. Godsons win 6-3.

B:Div: Jr. Trops vs Caged Heat...Caged Heat potted some goals in this and made some great offensive plays to create great chances. The Trops had to use a counter-attack to keep up. At 3-3 in the 3rd the Trops score two for a 5-3 lead and the Heat closed to within one and came on strong to tie but could not get that last one to go in. Jr. Trops win 5-4.

A:Div: Raiders vs Flint Tropics...a wild great match. the Raiders went up 4- early and threatened to blow it out, but as usual the Flint boys rallied with goals and kept this game in doubt right to the final whistle. Raiders win 9-8.

A:Div: Wounded Ducks vs Orleans 93's...1-1 after one but then the 93's stormed out for good in the 2nd period followed by a dominating 3rd. Orleans 93's win 13-4.

A:Div: Blue Ballers vs Wounded Ducks...the Ducks in the 2nd game of their double header were far better! The Blue Ballers came with their patented hustling running game that tested the Ducks lungs in their 2nd game. Not much difference as the period breaks were 3-3, 4-4 and finally a 5-5 tie.

B:Div: A Few Good Men vs Blue Eagles...another great game. The Blue Eagles owned the first period but it ended 1-1 as Melanie Simard was outstanding in the A Few Good Men yet again! Fast forward to a late 6-4 lead for the Blue Eagles and then two quick goals from AFGM to tie it up 6-6 followed by a dramatic wrap around winner from the Blue Eagles. Blue Eagles win 7-6.

A:Div: Dekes of Hazzard vs Buzz Kills...the Dekes jumped out a lightning quick 2-0 lead only to find themselves down 6-3 after the opening period. The Dekes kept up the effort level and kept on getting close but the Buzz Kills had the offence clicking just a step or two ahead. Buzz Kills win 9-7.

Sunday with Struts, Opening Day/Night January 14 Highlights:

A:Div: Flint Tropics vs Buzz Kills...Buzz kills moved from Monday night as champions to the iconic Sunday A-Div. The defending champions of Monday were up 5-1 after one period. Then as the senior Tropics are known to do, they scored in bunches and quickly to erase yet another massive deficit (take note federal Liberals). Buzz Kills were up 8-6 after the 2nd period. Then in the 3rd the Trops completed the comeback at 9-9 and the popped in a late winner. Flint tropics win 10-9.

B:Div: A Few Good Men vs Jr.Trops...AFGM mad a huge late midnight signing of a top goaltender in the name of Melanie Simard. And she delivered a solid performance vs the very talented Jr. Trops. AFGM held a 4-3 lead the first break but were down 5-4 after the 2nd period. The game was close at 7-6 as Sashnokov of Saturday's All Mesh had closed the gap, but the Trops jumped on some late pinching the AFGM had to do to try and tie it up and tallied twice to put it away. Jr. Trops win 9-6.

B:Div: Blue Eagles vs Falcons...Pilon vs Jolivet. The goalies who are decorated with the Tommy Raftis award. The went head to head and in the end there was nothing to choose from appropriately. 7-7 tie.

A:Div: Dekes of Hazzard vs Wounded Ducks...the score does not indicate the kind of game this was. The Ducks unveiled their new secret weapon who is goaltender Usaamah Gill. He was the factor that held the Dekes at bay early and enabled the Ducks offence to play with supreme confidence. By games end the Dekes were just shaking their heads as great chance after chance was foiled by this impressive force in the nets. Wounded Ducks win 10-3.

B:Div: Caged Heat vs Godsons...the Godsons capitalized on enough chances early for a confidence building 2-0 lead after one period. And 4-0 after two periods. Paul Trudeau in the Caged Heat net was the first star and after that it was Godsons goalie Terry Cleroux for the rare OBBHA shut-out. Godsons win 5-0.

A:Div:   Raiders vs Orleans 93's...Raiders were first up for the double header in the A-Div each team will do twice prior to the play-offs. The Raiders came out flying for a 4-0 lead after one period. This ended up being all Raiders but it was goaltending that made it this way! As Usaamah Gill did earlier for the Ducks, Aneel Nauth for the Raiders in his debut simply shut down the 93's and had the frustrated as he turned away opportunity after opportunity. Raiders win 9-2.

A:Div: Raiders vs Blue Ballers...last time these two met it was a wild 17-17 tie. The Raiders were warm and on their game right away for their 2nd game of the double header, so were very quick out of the gate and were up 3-0 in the blink of an eye. And up 5-1 after the first period. Aneel Nauth was again solid and did not give up rebounds nor a softy so the Blue Ballers could not muster up a comeback despite some nice chances. Raiders up 7-1 after two periods. The played a smart 3rd for the win. Raiders win 10-3.

Sunday, Dec 17 Finals and Seeding Matches:

4:00pm = Caged Heat vs Blue Eagles (C-Div 3rd Seed Match)...Caged Hear were up 2-1 after the first period, but the Blue Eagles had a huge 2nd 8-0 for a 9-2 lead. The 3rd the teams traded a goal a piece. Blue Eagles win 10-2 and C-3rd Seed.

5:00pm = A Few Good Men vs Falcons (C-Div Final)...a great Final! So close and well played as the teams were all tied up 3-3 and 4-4 at the period breaks. At 5-5 the Falcons scored the winner with 1:53 remaining. Falcons win 6-5 and the C-Div Championship.

6:00pm = Jr. Trops vs Godsons (B-Div 3rd Seed Match)...Trops jumped to a 3-0 first period lead. The Godsons got back into in the 2nd down only 4-3 heading into the 3rd. A spirited 3rd was played. At 5-5 the last 2-minutes was wild and the Godsons scored to make it 6-5, the Trops tied it then the Godsons won it. Godsons win 7-6 and take the B-Div 3rd Seed.

7:00pm = Wounded Ducks vs Orleans 93’s (A-Div Final)...another great Final! 2-2 after one run. The Ducks scored the only goal of the 2nd for a 3-2 advantage. In the 3rd the teams went all out and it ended 5-5 so we were off to the 5-player shoot-out. The 93's prevailed 3-2 in the shoot-out as Guy Saumure mad the final save to accentuate the 93's win. Orleans wins 6-5 in A SHOOT-OUT and the A-Div Championship.

8:00pm = Dekes of Hazzard vs Blue Ballers (B-Div Final)...yet another very good Final. 2-2 and 7-5 for the Dekes at the breaks. In the 3rd the Dekes pulled away late but this was a very hard running game. Dekes of Hazzard win 10-7 and the B-Div Championship.

9:00pm = Raiders vs Flint Tropics (A-Div 3rd Seed Match)...two great teams to close out the season. Xmas season benches but a very high effort level from both sides. Raiders win 12-3 and the 3rd Seed in the A-Div.

Sunday with Struts, December 10 Semi-finals Highlights:

A Few Good Men vs Blue Eagles (C-Div semi)...after the first period it was 3-2 for A Few Good Men. No goals in the 2nd and then late in the game A Few Good Men scored an insurance marker and then added an empty netter to eliminate the C-Div top seed from the Finals. A Few Good Men advance to the C-Finals while the Blue Eagles will vie for the 3rd Seed in the C-Div. A Few Good Men win 5-2.
